- burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't have one, but with 4GB? Stick just a few albums on there and use the rest of the space as a flash drive! That's a significant amount of file storage.

BOGUS!

Yeah, unless they put in flash memory. Would be GREAT for people who work out a lot... course they would have to be leaded, since that much flash memory would be incredibly pricey. - Dotdotdot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was annoying! I got all excited, going "OH MY GOD!!! A 4 GB SHUFFLE WAS JUST RELEASED!"
Why name it iPod Shuffle Goes 4 GB if, well, it DIDN'T! - Rhapsody, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow. 4 GB would be great. But, it will still be a bad product because we won't be able to read the screen while driving, riding a bicycle, or maybe even rock climbing.
- Zivko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0HIGHLY UNLIKELY.
To start with, the iPod Mini's already have that corner of the market, having two different players at the exact same size is something Apple wouldn't do.
If anything, Apple will make a new iPod mini using Flash, rather then a MicroDrive. Again, highly unlikely. - atanguay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It all depends on how and where you listen, Apple is trying to make an iPod model for every listener type...seems smart to me. Personally, my iPod, whether it's been my 20 or my 40 is pretty much always on shuffle, and half the time I can't look at the screen because I'm driving anyway. So the shuffle has been sweet. But not everybody is that way at all...they'll have one in every flavor before you know it.

its apple. They would milk this for all its worth. I know some people are like "Wow. 4gb shuffle?! thats amazing!" and will buy it, even though they have a regular ipod and a 1gb shuffle - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have the 512 gb shuffle that I use for poddcasts (TWit!) and some audio books while i'm on road trips. This thing has been great for me. And when i've got my lapptop out i can charge it right up. I don't think it it was a dumb idea at all. If you don't like it don't buy it simple as that. The ipod were all to big and clunky for me to lugg around. I wanted something light and small that I could toss in my pocket, or set on the dash and listen to when i'm in the car. This fits the bill to a T.
- acarney, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0For you Shuffle bashers, it's not a stupid idea, the Shuffle is so insanely light and small, it's nothing like a Mini or iPod. I have a 20Gig iPod and a 1Gig Shuffle. I love my Shuffle for when i'm driving or doing other things where looking at a screen and shifting around 1000 songs would be something that just can't be done at that time. I still use my 20Gig when i go on a week long trip or something, or just want my mobile music collection. The Shuffle is when i just need some tunes that i know i love without having to think about it, and it works!
That said, a 4Gig Shuffle would prob up the price a lot and might not go over so hot with the Mini's being 4Gig and 6Gig. - ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0the "shuffle" aspect is a lame excuse for leaving out the screen.
- stevey5036, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0thats so stupid. the shuffle idea was a stupid one to begin with.
