Always wait for the second version of an Apple product. - strikezero, on 10/11/2007, -26/+76I bet you 1000 dollars that they wont run out.
- 43percentburnt, on 10/11/2007, -32/+80iDon't Care
- wes00mertes, on 10/11/2007, -11/+50I had the first version of the Apple iPod and had no trouble with it at all.
- Philodox, on 10/11/2007, -24/+56iPhone: $599 and "backlogged until 2009"
PS3: $599 and selling ... less than optimally
Aside from the very devout, I don't know how many people are going to be lining up to pay $600 for a cell phone, no matter how cool it is. - Easty, on 10/11/2007, -5/+28God, that was tenuous.
Sit in the corner and think about what you've done. - boardsurfer, on 10/11/2007, -9/+32I'll believe it when I see it.
- tsunamisteve, on 10/11/2007, -15/+37But by all means by 1st gen products of all other manufacturers.
- snipes, on 10/11/2007, -23/+43Wow, you're a loser.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -14/+33Those things are in no way going to run out of pre-orders in it's first day.
- Terc, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21Really? How much does the wide screen iPod cost?
How much for the phone with the Apple interface and google maps, you know, the one that gives me a visual representation of my voicemails? - tsunamisteve, on 10/11/2007, -11/+28What is Cingular?
- Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -14/+31Someone at Apple told me last night; "the iPhone actually doesn't exist.. it was a combination of lasers, holograms and clever marketing. Come June 20th Apple will reveal all, and show off the iAbacus!"
- titlesaysitall, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18I logged in at school just to bury you. Joking? That was more like an act of stupidity, might as well just beat your head on the keyboard some more.
- sholt, on 10/11/2007, -10/+26Meh. Anything that locks me into using it for a year or more, I am at least touching before I'm buying.
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -5/+20If it took you 2 years to save up $600 ($25 a month put aside), you should probably invest that money into something more wisely. It's only going to be able to hold as much as a nano. And the Cingular contract is going to eat up your wallet. I'm assuming you're a teen who works part time? Save the money.
- wilhoitm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Cingular is the new AT & T.
http://www.colbertondemand.com/videos/The_Colbert_Report/The_new_ATandT - tsunamisteve, on 10/11/2007, -9/+20Yeah.... but.... then they're separate.
- fanboydcs, on 10/11/2007, -7/+17The least amazing feature of the iphone is the built in ipod functionality. For most people this will replace their laptop when on the go.. Safari, widgets, google maps, trust me the user interface will be unlike anything you have seen..
- diggdean, on 10/11/2007, -3/+13It may be rev. B by the time my previous 2 year contract runs out....
- blackjack75, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Less space than a nomad. Lame.
- Shaman760, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15I called Verizon the other day and put them on notice that I was unhappy with the way they crippled my RAZR on the last firmware upgrade (my phone Calendar no longer syncs toiCal).
They are obviously frightened by the release of this product, as they offered me many perks including free minutes and also "you qualify for a 'special' upgrade on your equipment." Riiiiight.
If you're on VZW, call them up and let them know about how much you're thinking about going to Cingular just for the iPhone. It makes their corporate heads buy lots of antacid. - Ireland, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15You'll be able to buy them "pay as you go" too 'sholt'.
- diggdean, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14Think of Christmas, in the summer.
Yeah, it's something like that. - Hulka, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Sprint is feeling it too. I've been getting calls from them to get discount or free options and even a new phone for free just to stay a Sprint customer. Each time I tell them I'm seriously considering moving to Cingular (AT&T) to get the iPhone. They then tell me Sprint offers phones just like the iPhone which I laugh at every time. My favorite was when a rep told me the iPhone is buggy and he knows because a friend has one and always has problems with it. I think he must have the iPhone confused with a BlackBerry.
- winmywii, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I believe that are having an identity crisis and calling themselves at&t, again.
- cybermort, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12sick of whiny bitches too.
- Clemson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Or not...
"Apple Rises After IPhone Media Report" (http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070525/apple_mover.html?.v=1) - taintedzodiac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Indeed. If two years of saving for you is < $1000, you definitely need to keep saving.
- Dotcommer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Really? Because to me, she bugs the ***** out of me. That stupid, ditzy, empty smile of hers makes me want to slap her. The t's arent even good.
- techweenie1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9personally I'm keeping my service with sprint, I like their power vision service, also why pay so much for less than a PDA...I'd rather buy a treo.
- DelMonte, on 10/11/2007, -5/+12I don't understand why people keep comparing the iPhone with the PS3.
The only thing they have in common is that they are hyped electronic products between $500 and $600. (Yes, in case of the iPhone, the cheapest model is $499, unlike what the FUDders like to say. And that retarded reply about $600 including the taxes doesn't make sense, as taxes varies depending on the state, and competing products are never quoted including taxes and/or contracts.)
The video-game console and cell-phone market are completely different, explaining how they're different would take too much time, but it should be obvious enough to anyone with half a brain. - colincornaby, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6"Has anyone thought to check on this? Because it's wrong. The release date has already been confirmed as June 11th.
http://news.com.com/8301-10784_3-6171953-7.html"
Apple themselves have said late June. The 11th is not late June. - RealityCheque, on 10/11/2007, -4/+10Translation: Mywhitenoise has no friends.
- superkendall, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Actually -I have to concur that the 1st gen iPod I have is still holding up really well. Battery is fine. Hard drive is fine. Screen is fine.
And who doesn't like to be the first to own some really interesting gadget? Myself, I have a lot of use for it and so I'm happy to get one when it arrives. - rwert, on 10/11/2007, -5/+11Here's the video from On The Money:
http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=340614273&play=1 - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5the chick from bustedtees is way hotter
http://www.bustedtees.com/ - MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7flag,
and they're as much of an idiot as you and the Apple haters are. What was your point? - gordeaoux, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6@Bovester
That story is from March. This one is from today. I'm gonna go with the 20th. - caesar0801, on 10/11/2007, -12/+17iPhone not really option for me...
price
battery life
hd space
rather wait for and iPod with same media capabilities but without phone or other internet options... - liuping, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Really? My brand new Blackberry 8800 still does not have Visual Voice mail or even a decent HTML enabled email app. How did your dad get one 2 years ago??
- betterth, on 10/11/2007, -8/+13Wow, so for acknowledging that RevA products have a vastly higher fail rate than RevB+ products, we're sheep?
How about this: Howabout you're an idiot for debasing fact with a single case.
"Well, my single laptop has run fine so the frequent reports of RevA failures are totally bogus!" - slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7I like to buy 'First Gen' products and if the iPhone turns out to have no bugs at all and lives up to the hype for quite some time, then I would go for one..

And that's only what we know, Apple said that there will be more features unveiled at launch.
While you may find some phones that have some of these features, NONE of them have all of these in the same device, especially since many of these features are exclusive to the iPhone. Anyway the iPhone won't be about having the most features, it will be about implementing them well, in a way they all work together seamlessly.
But let me predict your reply flag: any features that only exist on the iPhone, you'll deem them irrelevant and useless. - eezzzz, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Who the ***** cares..? Oddly enough, everyone does.
- gypsie, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6If you bought just 25 shares of Apple, Inc. (AAPL) in March 2007 your iPhone is totally free. Shares of AAPL went from $90.00 in the middle of March to $113.62 as of today. That's $23.62 gain in less than 3 months. ($23.62 x 25 = $590.50). If you bought 100 shares you could buy iPhones for your whole family. Now, what do you think shares of AAPL are going to be AFTER they release the iPhone? I suggest you very carefully examine what happened after they released their first iPod. In October of 2001 when first iPod was released one share of AAPL was $8.07. And people's comments on iPod were such as "Less space than a Nomad. Lame". Well if you bought 1000 shares of AAPL ($8070) when first iPod was released they would be worth $105,000 today. Now you can buy a lot of iPhones with that and you'll still have some extra money for gas.
- lepton, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Here's what will happen. June 11th, WWDC: Steve announces all iPhone details. Public sale will start the 20th. Steve says one more thing, we have iPhones for every attendee who wants to buy one right here, right now! Several thousand WWDC attendees go home with working iPhones. YHIHF!
- castingshade, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Bah iPhone!
The real up & coming breakthroughs are going to be in smoke signals - ArmandoM, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Wow..lighten up guys. He didn't say how old he was, if he's a teenager or even a college student it can take a while to come up with an extra $1k.
Also he might be saving for other things, and just putting a bit aside every month for an eventual iphone, he never said *all* his savings were totalling $1k in 2 years. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Pointless comment:
That's my birthday. Not that I'll ever be able to afford an iPhone. -
