- fullstop102, on 10/11/2007, -16/+70But yet you went to the trouble of reading this and then writing a comment. Well done!
- Radan, on 10/11/2007, -30/+72Drop the freaking whining! Christ! If you don't want to read about the iPhone, then stay away from the Apple section. Yes, that's right, "the Apple section", here you won't read about Bush, Iraq, Paris Hilton or anything else that hasn't go an Apple logo glued on. Now get off my interweb before I release the dogs!
- keithmcbride, on 10/11/2007, -7/+42"iPhone can suck my dick"
not yet, but at this rate... - aqzman, on 10/11/2007, -16/+50Don't stop the iPhone news, some people, like me, don't want to read about it, so I don't. It's not that hard to ignore a story if you don't want to read it.
Some people here have a strong interest in iPhone and want to read every bit of news that comes out about being about to install and run 3rd party apps. People have no right to say "Stop the iPhone stories because I don't have an iPhone and I don't want to read stories about it!". - hpfilter, on 10/11/2007, -30/+62wow .. wat an achievement ... hack a phone to make 3rd part apps work on it .. something which is stone age feature in any other phone
- Shando, on 10/11/2007, -9/+40Who the ***** needs youtube on a phone?
- hoppocket, on 10/11/2007, -7/+34The amount of copycat comments are really turning this web site into a joke. As many others have said, for those of you that either hate the device, or hate the news of the device, or hate the people that have the device, why don't you simply skip these stories? Or give a thumbs down to the story? That would be preferable to the current trend which is to actively engage in the comments section with a bunch of useless l337 speak and pretty unintelligent garbage.
So yes, there are a lot of iPhone stories being submitted. Well, a lot of people are excited about the iPhone. A lot of people think that for once a phone has been released which has a pretty great user interface and is pretty nice to use. They probably don't care that you believe that your other phone, as great as it may be, is proof that buying an iPhone makes anyone an idiot. Yes, we know now that your phone has 3G. We also know that you can send picture messages. We have also heard that you have a keyboard and that you prefer keys over a touch screen. Very good. Now that we have all gotten together and have exchanged those ideas thoroughly, can we let it rest? - Paranoidmarvin, on 10/11/2007, -9/+34Wait, let's remember that America isn't the only country in this world!
- ScrumFritter, on 10/11/2007, -6/+27Seconded - if you're too dumb to use Digg properly, then don't come complaining about seeing iPhone stories. It's simple: BLOCK THE APPLE SECTION.
- ScrumFritter, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21It's really quite simple, just don't click on the stories you don't want to read. I remember when there was loads of Paris Hilton stories on the front page - I didn't want to read them, so instead of whining about the fact that other people DID, I just didn't read them. I know, I know, it's a radical approach, but there you go.
- SamKellett, on 10/11/2007, -4/+22It's just so stupid of Apple to not allow us to build our own apps in the third place.
- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -6/+24Well...if all you want is a stone-age phone, have at it.
- ScrumFritter, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18How the Hell are you being dugg down? That's the ***** point of Digg - reading and digging what you WANT to read, not complaining about what other people are digging.
- jawbreaker4fs, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20I'm sick of people complaining that they're sick of story about X. Don't want iPhone news? Don't look at the apple section! Don't want to hear about Ron Paul? Avoid that section! Your argument is tantamount to someone walking into a grocery store and saying "I've had enough of all this gum in the checkout aisle! Gum is such an irrelevant product!"
If you want to avoid a particular topic, don't go near it. Some of us have iPhones and are very interested in stories like this. Judging by the prevalence of such stories, I would guess that a great number of digg's users are. So just chill out. - jawbreaker4fs, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16We get it already. Seriously.. remind me again that it doesn't have MMS or IM.
- iluvudigg, on 10/11/2007, -27/+40http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone
- DJMajickman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11I want gas watch widget on it before I buy. That way I can put in whatever location I'm at and find the cheapest gas prices fast. :)
- chrisxkelley, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10It doesnt have MMS or IM.
- cramd, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13Once you have "Hello World" are there any other programs one would need? On new computers I typically just install Windows ME and Hello World, as that is all that anyone really needs!
- FTLJohnson, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Imagine when iPhone 2 has built in GPS like most pda phones...
- Myonosken, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Last super power? Heard of China and, probably in a few years, the EU?
- Visarga, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8no problem
- hockey, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Hmm. . .that's a pretty good idea actually. . .
- ThatsUnpossible, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6You don't read iPhone news eh? Something tells me you're lying...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8Correction: A 'revolutionary' new internet device...or so they say.
- JoshuaH, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7But..I need my skateboarding bulldog videos!
- fullstop102, on 10/11/2007, -6/+11I think it ishould have had < sarcasm> < /sarcasm > tags.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5How do you through up? I think you meant throw up.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8The ";)" throws me off. I think he's serious :(
- Myonosken, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6***** comment system
- bimtott, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4If you don't feel comfortable filtering through the vast amount of news on the internet to read what you want, then go back to watching network news. Brian Williams will be happy to spoon-feed you what you want.
- inkswamp, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Remember when people kept whining about Apple not allowing Windows to run on the new Intel Macs at first and then hacker groups went all out and figured it out and people sat around carping about how evil Apple was for not doing this from the start and how it was all part of some Massive Steve Jobs Conspiracy to Control The World? That wasn't so long ago. Sound familiar at all?
Apple has pretty clearly articulated what's going on with the iPhone. Like the Windows-on-Mac scenario, I think they underestimated the level of interest and didn't make it a priority, but it's very likely on its way. Plus, in this situation, they have security and stability issues to consider so it's a little more complicated (I would imagine.) I would suggest that instead of carping about this, that people sit back and be patient. Apple just released a product that likely took a great deal of R&D time and money, and just because they didn't have have a dev kit ready doesn't mean they're holding it back for some nefarious purposes. - hominidtodd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4not that i disagree, but this is the "apple" section of the "technology" tab if an article on bush ruining the country was marked "tech, apple" or if this was marked "world & business" you'd have more of a foot to stand on.
- xmodem2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5oh people have every right to whinge. But the fact that iPhone stories keep getting dugg up just proves them wrong.
is it really hard to ignore stories your not interested in? - Dom02, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5irrelevant to what?
- shaungc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4well, yeah, but then people will be complaining about all of the articles being about Leopard and iPhone, then they'll complain about it being about WWDC and iPhone.
- superkendall, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4There's already a web app for that (cheapest gas prices).
- bitspace, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6The reality is that the iPhone is the biggest Apple news these days. In a couple months it'll be Leopard and iPhone. Soon it'll be WWDC and iPhone.
- MatchStick, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5"3rd party apps"
do you mean homebrew? - epohs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Agreed. Digging down replies that are completely relevant to the topic because they don't agree with the reply, and posting insults in topics that don't interest them. It's so backward. Who exactly is decreasing the value of the site?
- bhattsan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4unfortunately, companies never seemed to like the homebrew counterparts in the struggle. Just look at the battle between sony and homebrew developers. It started even before iso loaders were released!
- thatgreekguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3and no 3rd party apps.
- LGod, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Couldn't you say that for anything? "Why the hell does this make it on digg? ***** go read Bloomberg/ BBC/ CNN/ Etc. if you want this *****."
- ubuwalker31, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3@DogParty

You were saying? - ChewMyFootOff, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I'm sick of people complaining about people complaining about iPhone news.
- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -11/+13Even as an Apple enthusiast I'm not overly impressed with the iPhone. It does have a very slick and easy to use interface, so I'm looking forward to the next version to see what improvements Apple makes. Also, with Apple raising the UI bar for cell phones, aren't any of you pleased that this will force other makers to improve their software? Even if you hate the iPhone and never plan to buy one, your choice for phones should improve too.

What is Digg?
