- Retnuh730, on 10/10/2007, -6/+85ok, here's my story. I submitted this in firefox, and as soon as i clicked submit the dialog box disappeared and nothing showed up. I had no idea that it posted, and it didnt show up even when i refreshed. i ended up typing it again and thats why. So sue me for this damned comment system.
- unamas, on 10/10/2007, -5/+81I hate it when that happens...

- Yarnage, on 10/10/2007, -4/+47yes, but can it be run on a touch screen and reproduce the same feedback as a regular controller, especially with such a small and sensitive screen.
- OGTL, on 10/10/2007, -7/+44The only iPhone story I haven't buried for five months.
- gordeaoux, on 10/10/2007, -5/+37CCCCCCCombo breaker!
- Dames, on 10/10/2007, -1/+29http://code.google.com/p/iphonenes/
Project home-page with download link and instructions. - RichMan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+28I agree with the comment about the controls in that it looks good but sucks. I think a good idea would to model the controls like a GBA, with the D-pad on the left, buttons to the right, and the game playing in the middle.
- Havs, on 10/10/2007, -8/+29It looks like it runs slow as hell.
- zeeky, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23the iphone is multi touch, dude...
- ka05, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Indeed. I'd love to see a little Bluetooth NES controller. Now wouldn't THAT be cool?
- damnyooneek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14you gotta admit the iphone is going to be hacked like hell by the time it goes through its life cycle
- madtaco, on 10/10/2007, -2/+16now someone needs to mod an nes controller to work w/ the iphone.
- ThecNiqueMan, on 10/10/2007, -10/+24WOW INCREDIBLE!!! Maybe one day it will be able to run GBA, PSX, SNES full speed like 3-year-old Pocket PCs.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Doesn't deserve to be buried, it's a valid point. The processor should be able to handle a nes emulator pretty easily, so the question is where the slowdown is coming from and if it's going to actually be possible to get past it with the hack methods. The methods they're able to get for screen access might not be fast enough for games.
- bsonline, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Anyone else notice that he pushed the run button to jump and the jump button to run? Holy AB reversal, Batman!
- whiteyMcBrown, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16Well, it's a gaming device.. try making a phone call from it.
- FreydNot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13Aren't the Wii controllers standard bluetooth? Classic controller FTW!
- DanteDefiance, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Finally...the hack I've been waiting for. Interesting how I don't get interested in a phone/game system unless it can emulate the NES.
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15Did you not see the "Please allow 60 seconds for comment to post" message at the bottom of the comment box?
- Ocelot13, on 10/10/2007, -7/+16ha, nes runs perfectly on my psp with nesterj
- RichGC, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Im puzzled why they dont just block/remove duplicate messages from the same username.
- Rhine23, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Submit a bug report with digg, it is towards the bottom, they are very quick with a response.
- Retnuh730, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11like i said, after I hit submit the box disappeared, and i saw nothing. The page also said done loading at the bottom.
- guess88, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9mmm.. bluetooth NES controller... grrlllaalllll....
- shawnz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7an NES emulator would be insanely harder to port than Doom.
- badjoke, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Did you even read the article? The programmer realizes it's slow and it's a work in progress.
- Chicken2nite, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6button mashing on a touch screen, that what.
- pastasauce, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I've got thumbs of steel.
- 3wiid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The Wii controllers is bluetooth and that is basically a NES controller minus the cable (plus a few buttons for save and load states end emu etc. How does the Iphone work as a bluetooth receiver can you set it to •Find Me• like I can with my MOTO to look for local BT devices? That way the screen wouldn't be eaten by the controller image.
Noice - Terc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Wow! that $3000 laptop you're posting from can run games from 1983... wait, this logic doesn't work does it?
- Noelix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5You son of a bitch
- zweben, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6It's glass. I really doubt it's going to break just by pressing on it.
It's made to be pressed on. - Gigabyte, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Touche
- PainToad, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6It's a proof of concept idiot.
- Stirk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6The iPhone is a closed platform, and getting an application running natively - even a hello world application - is a big achievement. Not to mention the thing just came out and people are still excited about exploring it.
- aaronm67, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4...what would that bug report say
"Your comment system sucks, almost every aspect of it is buggy, it doesn't work in several popular browsers, often times line breaks are randomly removed, it double posts on editing, and a bunch of other really irritating things." - bob12321, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5We just need skype for the PSP
- pw378, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Do not use this guys site, you don't know what modifications may be made when downloading from an unknown... Sorry DipDog3.
Use the code.google.com/iphonenes download link provided earlier. - Terc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4stepwhite seems to think it's the way he has the iPhone drawing video to the screen that is causing it to run so slowly. There is already a faster version available. Give it time, every emulator on a new platform starts slow and gradually increases stability and speed.
I sure wish this would have been written as a horizontal app, with the d-pad on the left of the screen and A/B buttons on the right. This is a much more comfortable way for me to hold the phone (big hands). - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6another non reader eh - it ***** says that in the article
- mccake, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I think we can utilize the motion sensors later. That should 'rock'!
- Retnuh730, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5yeah, i hit it once, nothing happened, hit back and hit it again, then realised it could have shown up and i didnt see it, so i refreshed the page, nothing, went back and did it again, nothing, again, and finally i retyped it. seriously.
- najdorf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Well in case you hadn't noticed, iphone has no buttons, how do you suggest they play it, telepatically ?
- cuervoman914, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4settle down mah babies!
- harshbarj, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5It is running slow. I run nes games on my axim x50v and it shares the same processor as the iphone yet runs all the nes games I like at full speed (inc all the games they tried).
for those with pds's try this.
http://www.pocketnes.org/ - rebotfc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3read the ***** article
