- bgtees, on 04/23/2008, -6/+11Really.
- Septimus, on 04/23/2008, -5/+18It's kind of gay being a 'proud' iPhone owner.
- bgtees, on 04/23/2008, -8/+8Yeah, that's a valid point - "proud" wasn't the best choice of words. Just trying to convey that I love my iPhone.
/and yes, that's also gay - specialK16, on 04/24/2008, -4/+4So, you are gay then.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
- skeletorcares, on 04/23/2008, -5/+2Really x2
- dudeguy1234, on 04/23/2008, -3/+8Being Imaginative, Creative, and satirically funny = homosexual?
- skeletorcares, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Imaginative, maybe, creative, no. And what exactly is this satirizing? You don't know what satire is, do you?

- asforme, on 04/24/2008, -1/+5Yes, I know I buy all of my gadgets and keep them in the box where they belong.

- fightclub, on 04/23/2008, -27/+328Brilliant?! I dunno about that..
inventing the light globe, putting a man on the moon, mapping the human Genome...12 photos of lego men unwrapping an iphone?!
I think the word brilliant might be a bit of an over statement..perhaps mildly amusing?- timusca, on 04/23/2008, -22/+7Art can be considered brilliant too... and this is a form of art.
And putting a man on the moon? We all know that was staged... [captain sarcasm to the rescue]- Namco, on 04/23/2008, -1/+6Hey!... don't talk about fightclub!
- timusca, on 04/23/2008, -1/+3Never saw it... did I accidentally make a reference?
- TheDHC, on 04/23/2008, -0/+7I'll bury you just to be safe

- neferiousrich, on 04/23/2008, -13/+6your face is mildly amusing...
- jmkiii, on 04/23/2008, -1/+6Your comment is not.
- dillweed33, on 04/23/2008, -6/+10What's really brilliant is that you haven't fallen off of your high horse yet...

- chinpo, on 04/24/2008, -2/+1wORD MAN 4 20 WAS A FEW DAYS AGO i'M STILL CELEBRATING!!
- unionaire, on 04/23/2008, -5/+8question is, are you always this critical about everything? man life must suck for you.
- fascfoo, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4That is the burden of people w/ critical thinking minds,
- sudowrestler, on 04/23/2008, -4/+2It's the burden of humorless people with no perspective, no finesse.
- fascfoo, on 04/23/2008, -1/+4That is the burden of people w/ critical thinking minds,
- wild, on 04/23/2008, -0/+11Well, given how out of order the photos are, the guy was clearly drinking a Guinness...
- dinot, on 04/23/2008, -5/+5So "brilliant" only applies to scientific endeavors and not art, humor, television, music, cooking, programming, and other skills in which the person shows a display of critical and creative thinking?
I bet you were the kid on the block that didn't get invited to parties, huh. - Newportbeachguy, on 04/23/2008, -4/+1In the words of Shooter Mcgaven: "Oh drink up"
- FlyingPhotog, on 04/23/2008, -1/+8Party pooper...
- Cloud7654, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1Every party needs a pooper, that's why we invited you....or in this case, fightclub.
- thirty6chambers, on 04/23/2008, -2/+1I agree. It's not that this can't be brilliant but it's at a different level. Using "brilliant" here seems to belittle the feats that he mentioned, which is obviously infinitely more complex.
- charris1980, on 04/23/2008, -4/+2holy smokes, guys take a step back. it's a users description, not a end all description of what it is.
- smpx, on 04/23/2008, -2/+4Well if we're going down that road...
The word brilliant actually isn't an adjective for intellect or amazement. It's a descriptive word on how illuminated something is, i.e. "bright". And since the photos in the collection were rather well lit, the poster actually used the term correctly in describing it as "brilliant", whereas the things you listed so pretentiously are actually more along the lines of "groundbreaking".
See how much less fun it is when it's turned around on you?- jamdogg, on 04/23/2008, -0/+6The word "groundbreaking" applies more to a jackhammer than invention.
- yosempai, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1The word "jackhammer"...oh, never mind.
- jamdogg, on 04/23/2008, -0/+6The word "groundbreaking" applies more to a jackhammer than invention.
- burnin8r28, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2well everything you mentioned are conspiracies.
- KidVicious, on 04/24/2008, -0/+4What is this light globe you speak of?
- chrgrose, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1its brilliant in that Guinness sort of way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWqGLVaITsk
- timusca, on 04/23/2008, -22/+7Art can be considered brilliant too... and this is a form of art.
- vincenzo7, on 04/23/2008, -18/+7i laughed when i saw this and thought. Wow. an original idea. Nice.
- ho0ber, on 04/23/2008, -8/+3I groaned when I saw your comment and thought, "Wow. This guy really didn't have anything to add. Lame."

- dynacrylic, on 04/23/2008, -3/+211Would have been cute to see them lifting it up with a lego crane onto a lego cart.... then there would have been an opportunity for lego carnage when the cable snapped crushing a lego foreman.
- BBeeson, on 04/23/2008, -1/+5Logged in just to digg up that comment. You always need lego carnage.
- canthraxp, on 04/23/2008, -0/+13That would've required the lego-lawyer and lego-lawsuit packs.
- ho0ber, on 04/23/2008, -1/+18Nah, I just use the vikings to handle any legal disputes.
- Mapekz, on 04/24/2008, -0/+0The LEGO Pirates will play the role of the defendant. Taste my cutlass, Norse infidels!!

- jabberwolf, on 04/23/2008, -2/+3It's an iphone and lego guys.
How exactly is that nerdy? It's kinda simple and child alluring but not nerdy.
No techinical ability or style here at all to be nerdy. Trendy, warm and fuzzy- yes. - jrn8969, on 04/23/2008, -1/+1You'd think he would have pulled out of you before he started cruising digg...

- EwMo, on 04/24/2008, -1/+1Hmmmm.... I'm skeptical...
- Nhmarine, on 04/23/2008, -12/+4Lego men can do work? Holy crap, I need to get some legoes out of the back of the closet.....
I always wondered why I kept them, but now I know: with the capabilities to unpack iPhones, my lego men (under my control of course) will be able to overthrow the militaries of every country and take over the world!- hmcook87, on 04/24/2008, -0/+2that is quite unlikely.
- mochaman, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2Oh so close get back to work and finish unpacking.
- oo00mige00oo, on 04/23/2008, -2/+8they should've made the iphone with legos!!

- Paranoidmarvin, on 04/23/2008, -4/+5I was waiting to be suprised.
And I was - very original! - thebza451, on 04/23/2008, -9/+4lol even the lego guys have metrosexual haircuts to match apples' clientel/image!
- dudeguy1234, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2People that have sex with trains and buses?

- czeman, on 04/23/2008, -2/+4I'd like to see video of the crane lifting the iPhone out of the box.
- blazerin05, on 04/23/2008, -1/+13It's a cool concept and quite amusing, but it's less unpacking and more unwrapping. I want to see the little guys unpack the entire thing step by step.
- R0l0, on 04/23/2008, -3/+5Somebody desperately needs help.
- dudeguy1234, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Yes, someone who takes the time to belittle someone who had an original idea and was having some fun with it.
- RubineBoy, on 04/23/2008, -2/+52They aren't unwrapping/unpacking it, they're stealing it! They all tricked you!

- luchid, on 04/23/2008, -0/+10Tricksy lil hobbitses!
- deftskier, on 04/23/2008, -0/+9I never understood this unpacking ritual that merits numerous photos, it's a bit obsessive.
- dinot, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Yes, and I think that was the whole point of this exercise.
- ClevelandBrown, on 04/23/2008, -2/+49So uh, yeah, how about making the images actually work as a coherent story?
- wiirdo, on 04/23/2008, -2/+3Could have had Star Wars lego characters unbox it.
- dudeguy1234, on 04/23/2008, -0/+1I should totally do that...

- wrillo, on 04/23/2008, -0/+6"excuse me sir, you want to buy how many lego people?"
- MissionSix, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2i've seen this done way before this iphone unpacking came around. There was a guy on www.ocforums.com who used to do computer build logs with lego people.
so its not origional
- mal1964, on 04/23/2008, -0/+2Lego's and kids always seem to enjoy the box more than the item in it.
- gnomead, on 04/23/2008, -1/+5Cheer up, buddy. Look at it this way. Every single one of your ancestors, both living and dead, have fornicated at least once in their lifetimes. Your time will come.
- gnomead, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4Wrong thread. I have shamed myself.
- RidiculousHat, on 04/23/2008, -0/+4That's still more appropriate than you might initially believe...

- NoValidTitle, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Welcome to Digg?
- Falor42, on 04/23/2008, -1/+30What they didn't mention in the pictures is the Lego construction crew pushed back the deadline 4 times, went over budget 6 times, and after the unpacked phone was delivered, realized the guy ordered a Nokia, not an iPhone.
- dsendecki, on 04/23/2008, -5/+10The word LEGO is a brand name. The LEGO group of companies would sincerely like your help in keeping it special. Please always refer to their bricks as 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' and not 'LEGOS.' By doing so, you will be helping to protect and preserve a brand of which they are very proud and that stands for quality the world over.
/nerd- oo00mige00oo, on 04/23/2008, -5/+1no i think you work for lego!!!!!!!
- KaivenTor, on 04/23/2008, -0/+5Nice idea, though I wish the execution was better, there were tons of opportunities for a more humorous approach in there.
- lickmyback, on 04/23/2008, -5/+6Ooh, Lego AND an iPhone! Now all we need is crayons and Rick Astley and we'll have the entire mental capacity of the average Digg member in a nutshell! Hoorah!
- TheSchalter, on 04/23/2008, -1/+2Spot on.

And my personal fave:

- stephenjames716, on 04/23/2008, -2/+3haha, neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd!
- IWDA4, on 04/23/2008, -1/+16Clever idea, but why couldn't they be put into order instead of being played completely at random?
- ahawks, on 04/23/2008, -0/+3Just a guess, but because he tagged them instead of putting them in a set. I suspect Flickr's tag browsing doesn't guarantee a sort order like the sets do. And maybe he didn't use a set because non-pro users are only allowed something like 3 sets. And it costs $20/yr to uprade to pro.
That's my guess anyway :)

- Hoogs, on 04/23/2008, -4/+4I gonna have to disagree and say that this is pretty lame and could've been cooler with a better execution. The pictures seem out of order and random, with some just being duplicates taken at a different angle. Plus there's no actual unboxing.
Then again, that's probably because the person was getting impatient and just wanted to start messing with his new phone. I know I would. -
