- roastedbagel, on 10/27/2007, -6/+31I know I'll get dugg down for this but...
It's a shame you have to do a "hack" to do this in the first place... - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I did the same thing to play music off iTunes to my Motorola headset...but it was god awful sound that It gave me kernal panics too
- JeffS, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6There's too many hacks needed to make the iPhone do the obvious things that a WM5 or WM6 phone can already do.
- Nysul, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5what? you don't need A2DP to send audio to a bluetooth receiver. A2DP is just better quality and in stereo.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2***** cant delete the comment above (used a stupid angle bracket to illustrate less than)
why the ***** would you want to stream your mp3/aac audio at less than 64kbps it will sound like absolute *****!!!!!!!!
a REAL A2DPphone will stream your audio at around 250kbps which is *OK* and will not chew your ears up
the only reason why you would do a dirty audio/bluetooth hack is for skype or other VOIP so you can use your bt headset to talk and hear. skype and voip is just voice which is ok at 64kbps - dcharti, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Uh, podcasts?
- spiesy22, on 06/25/2008, -0/+1it's actually really easy. the quality is bearable if your in a pinch it's suitable. all you have to do is start playing music. after you hear it coming out of the i phone speakers go to the visual voicmail. in the top right corner there will be an audio button. click it and select your headset. The downside is it still plays through the phone. but the upside is you can make the phone music quiet and the bluetooth is still at a reasonable level.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1so your entire music archive are just a bunch of pod casts?
apple probably left out a2dp because it would *confused* their users as a2dp headsets also have hsp/hfp built in - rancemo, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3STFU and vote for RON PAUL! : )
- askjason75, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1You can enable Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) profiles via hardware solutions such as iBlueT from 8bananas.com. Basically it is a "Made for iPod" dongle and stereo headset bundle. You connect the dongle to the iPhone via the dock connector and then pair the stereo headset to your iPhone / dongle. I can confirm it does NOT have the annoying speaker playing at the same time problem that everyone has experienced with the workarounds of enabling A2DP via tricks / hacks etc... It only cost $99USD vs the Apple Bluetooth headset at $129 USD...
- iapx, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2The interesting thing is that enable everyone to SHARE music over bluetooth, from an iPhone to any bluetotth-enabld computer...
- ejking, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This is true, but the iPhone, when hacked, especially with the new easy Installer.app, can do quite a bit, not to mention its going to be ALOT sexier on an iPhone.
WM is a great OS, and hopefully iPhone will get to the same level if not better soon thanks to the Dev community. - vaultspawn, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1This worked with my Samsung WEP200.....cool little discovery.
- ballmatic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I found the easiest solution to be $50 for the Oakley icombi bluetooth adapter for instant A2DP support with my Motorola S9 stereo headset. It's technically not a hack, works 100% of the time, sounds great, and you don't have to enter airplane mode. Shame on Apple for not having A2DP right out of the box though.
- aserer511, on 11/14/2007, -6/+5LG Chocolate can do it out of the box.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2WTF why would you want to streamMusic at 250kpbs which is *ok* quality and is listenable
what a waste of time, unless they got skype running through that BT hack like pda phones, but then again, that is just voice not AUDIO - mrroarke, on 10/10/2007, -7/+4Hey... what happened to "It just works?" Is it keeping the "megahertz myth" company?
- yingjai, on 10/10/2007, -9/+4Will these iPhone posts ever end? Why can't there be news on other phones. I have to read at least 1 or 2 iPhone titles on frontpage everyday.
- squirmalicious, on 10/10/2007, -10/+1Hate the current apple board and love my Macbook, so I may have to get one of these....
