- leejarratt, on 08/02/2008, -11/+102That's just getting boring now..
- peestandingup, on 08/02/2008, -4/+88Did you ever think he cold have trimmed it so you could actually see the burn in the pic instead of a wall of hair??
- streak, on 08/02/2008, -12/+92Looks like he screwed something up in replacing the original black back with a blue one.
- Carbamide, on 08/02/2008, -5/+82Cause, you know, the first thing I want to do after I get a burn is to shave it.
- NotOptium, on 08/02/2008, -2/+78For a second I thought the pic in the thumbnail was his burnt leg with the iPhone on it, and holy crap that looked bad.
Needless to say I'm glad it's just a couch. - inactive, on 08/01/2008, -21/+80Wow, it looks pretty scratched up. The guy probably dropped it or sent it through the wash or something, and is trying to create bad press for Apple to get a free replacement.
- Llanowar, on 08/02/2008, -0/+59A rational explanation on Digg? Unheard of!
- Jakerzon, on 08/02/2008, -81/+134***** you, two of my friends died shaving their legs.
- diggality, on 08/01/2008, -2/+44Cookies get hot and melty, but I don't think iPhones qualify
- arekkusu, on 08/02/2008, -1/+39I can see you and all the people that dugg you up didn't read the thread.
"care to explain why in some pictures your phone is black and in the last one it's blue?"
"I used a 100w Sylvania Movie spotlamp to show the warps and cracking... the black on the iPhone is really a dark dark blue
it was Smurfified "
http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=5949398 ... - feliks2, on 08/02/2008, -5/+39I don't get how it was ever not boring.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -14/+42Two of my friends died from boredom.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -2/+29Society sucks. *****, if someone wants to shave their legs, fine with me...
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -30/+56iPhone blue edition? No wonder it burnt him, a Chinese ripoff no question. /s
- billwild, on 08/02/2008, -8/+33"It's definitely an anomaly we haven't heard of before,"
Oh no , we've never heard of an apple product having battery problems before have we? *rolls eyes* - Zaeboes, on 08/02/2008, -1/+21"Note that he doesn't have ANY friends"
I don't either, because I come here to read stuff. My social network has very little to do with this stuff. - inactive, on 08/02/2008, -5/+23Nothing if you're a chick, metro, or gay.
- JorgeGT, on 08/02/2008, -2/+20Read posts above. You and the 17 that digged you up:
"care to explain why in some pictures your phone is black and in the last one it's blue?"

I guess this isn't the first time, it happened on 1st gen iphones too, and since the case was metal, the results were worse. Maybe that's why they have plastic backs now? - kgdoom, on 08/02/2008, -4/+19That iPhone... it's so hot right now.
- rob2oo4, on 08/02/2008, -3/+18Look at all that stubble...
for a baby soft shave, use the new iShave - Ragix, on 08/02/2008, -4/+18Wouldn't plastic-melting heat burn some hair along the way?
- Rotzooi, on 08/02/2008, -12/+26The submitter is a gizmodo pr-guy gaming Digg. BURIED
Note that he doesn't have ANY friends, yet has a 22% popular rate - and only submits gizmodo stories. - Dumbledorito, on 08/03/2008, -1/+15"The guy probably dropped it or sent it through the wash or something..."
Or he actually USED it. Shiny metallic and plastic surfaces rarely stay pristine when handled constantly, even with care. - uberstu, on 08/02/2008, -7/+18This actually happened to me once a while back with the original iPhone. I was talking to a co-worker when all of a sudden I felt an incredibly hot sensation on my leg. I pulled out my phone and it was cool as *****. Then i realised i had pissed myself.
- mrfreeziexp, on 08/02/2008, -1/+12100% blogspam. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=53473 ... Better/more pictures.
- KingFog, on 08/02/2008, -1/+11Considered perhaps that he wouldn't shave hair on a fresh burn until it had healed slightly so it wasn't as raw and sensitive?
- kuz2r, on 08/02/2008, -2/+11No it's bad Wax job
- lolkthnxbai, on 08/02/2008, -1/+10guess it's the same feature as the meltbook pro
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -3/+11My first thought as well.
Nicely played. - ramsinks.com, on 08/01/2008, -5/+13It's called a lipo. They fail sometimes.
- abajaj2280, on 08/02/2008, -2/+10I knew iPhones would be a hot product when they came out.
That's why I never got them :-P - ryan83189, on 08/02/2008, -0/+8It's a feature. You honestly won't be able to tell the difference between an iPhone 3g on fire and an original iPhone unless they are side by side.
- championchap, on 08/02/2008, -0/+8Well yeah, using a razor would hurt like ***** on a burn.
- syntakk, on 08/02/2008, -2/+10One of my iPods did this when I plugged in the charger. It got REALLY hot and started smoking, and you could smell the burning electronics. All this in about 3-5 seconds.
- doctordbx, on 08/02/2008, -0/+8OK, you probably posted this before the person posted the explanation for it looking blue-ish above, but that doesn't make you any less an assclown.
- feliks2, on 08/02/2008, -5/+12That looks really ***** gross when guys do that.
- Charun, on 08/02/2008, -0/+7they're break dance fighting
- Tyrghast, on 08/02/2008, -1/+7Probably because some people are decent human beings and don't sue others over every little thing.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -7/+13From the Gizmodo comments:
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r280/jameslongi ...
Before he shaved his legs like a woman, the burn looks completely different. The burn is shaped different (pre-shave is a round shape, post-shave is square?) and the raw skin also just magically disappeared. Something doesn't add up. - JorgeGT, on 08/02/2008, -1/+7Why bother on submitting?
- Z_Man, on 08/02/2008, -2/+8Probably cause it's a bunch of *****.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -0/+6I thought the same thing, and said to myself "Why the hell did he leave it on his skin if it's that badly burned?!"
- weters, on 08/02/2008, -1/+6This actually happened to me once a while back with the original iPhone. I was talking to a co-worker when all of a sudden I felt an incredibly hot sensation on my leg. I pulled out my phone and it was extremely hot. Somehow the phone was frozen in the slide to unlock screen. Once I reset my phone it was fine and it hasn't happened since.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -2/+7this guys actions look...........
.........completely fraudulent - jkahrs595, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5it was buried nmnnot because it was stupid. case closed.
- tas08, on 08/03/2008, -1/+5***** you, two of my friends died quoting internet memes.
- Chexjc, on 08/02/2008, -3/+7Holy *****, that dude shaved his leg...for a picture!
