- WillHutch5, on 01/23/2008, -23/+103Ready and waiting.
- CraigJ, on 01/23/2008, -12/+49You apparently care enough to post under topic that you don't care about..
- JHaze, on 01/23/2008, -3/+12It's not Apple doing that, it's the website.
They have to load a 57x57 PNG file to the root folder.
If there is a website you like, email them and explain the process, I already emailed Facebook and Digg, but got a standard "thank you for your suggestion" response. - TheKrillr, on 01/23/2008, -6/+13-wiggles his fingers in your direction while mumbling the magic words, and POOF you turn into an application- There you are. Now when people call you a tool, it will be much more ironic.
- virtualball, on 01/23/2008, -1/+7Because Jesus hates you.
- t0ken, on 01/23/2008, -4/+9Wow. That was incredibly clever. That comment utilizes the same naming convention Apple uses for its products! I bet you had to think for a few hours to come up with that one! NICE.
Why don't you go to microsoft.com or linux.org or whatever and stop bothering everyone here. Seriously. - djdole, on 01/23/2008, -3/+7And?.... Were disappointed because no one gave you a gold star and a cookie?
- JHaze, on 01/23/2008, -2/+6How to create a webclip icon for the iPhone home screen. The same thing masbestiaguetu is talking about.
- kevinwiz, on 01/23/2008, -6/+10that alone would be enough for me to buy a slingbox
- Jacs02056, on 01/23/2008, -4/+8I read this elsewhere so I could very well be making this up, but some developers have been given the SDK already so that there will be apps available when the SDK is released.
- ElBob, on 01/23/2008, -6/+9No, its just that most of the comments are slightly retarded.
- inactive, on 01/23/2008, -8/+11Anti-Apple Nerd Brigrade says, "Yes, six months is a lifetime! Almost as long as we had to wait for Vista.... uh, right? Right?"
- Jangles, on 01/23/2008, -7/+10yeah it's the oversensitive digg community!
- TheKrillr, on 01/23/2008, -9/+12So did a lot of other people, what makes your circumstances comment-worthy?
- Me1000, on 01/23/2008, -2/+4Apple doesn't have one for the same reason they dont have an optimized version of the site.
It is suppose to be a webclip. and it shows whatever you have on the screen.
but I wish Facbook had one though! - djdole, on 01/23/2008, -2/+4http://digg.com/apple/HOWTO_iPhone_Webclip_Icons
Digg is a good resource you know, besides for posting questions with easy to find answers. - yikiad, on 01/23/2008, -4/+6buried for burying "iThink"
- DarkDx, on 01/23/2008, -2/+4here:
"I wonder if applications are going to be uploaded to iTunes similarly to Podcasts, and thats how Apple will register digital signatures.
As long as they're free I think that'd be a great way to develop a community around these devices." -JHaze
It got buried too. Prepare to be banned bury brigady. - LordofChaosIori, on 01/23/2008, -6/+8No one knows this but you. Thank you oh "duddy" for enlightening us.
- srg13, on 01/23/2008, -1/+3Most of them (maybe except for three of four) were pointless and stupid anyway...
- FluffyArmada, on 01/23/2008, -2/+4Yes. There will soon be a bazillion different versions of Hello World all for the iPhone.
I really hope it's just cocoa with widgets that look nice on an iphone screen. :) - supermanred, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Does the web app find your location?

- tyywebb, on 01/23/2008, -2/+3You can always restore to factory settings if you want to udpdate.
- TokenBlack, on 01/23/2008, -6/+7Ron Paul
- nertzy, on 01/23/2008, -3/+4It has to do with whether the product is kept on Apple's financial books as a subscription-based purchase or not. The iPhone and the Apple TV are subscription-based and thus get new features for free, while products like the iPod Touch and the MacBooks that you mentioned do not.
For more information, read up on the Sarbanes-Oxley reforms after Enron et al. - supermanred, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1I would pay 99 cents for some of the apps I have on my iphone right now. I mean, the guys took a lot of time to make some of these. They deserve a buck or two for their efforts. We should support the coders.
- supermanred, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Maybe if we pay 99 cents for these apps the coders can afford to actualy spend more time on them and make better apps for us instead of doing them in their spare time when they come home from walmart?
- dvandewalle, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1some of the larger companies, google, facebook, twitter, etc. have had the SDK for awhile now, we'll see their apps pretty much day and date with the launch, apple will want to have some cool examples of what can be done as soon as they can
- thatsmyaibo, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Jailbreaking beats the ***** out of web apps...Mr. Chump.
- supermanred, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Funny, i found this digg article while googling on my iPod Touch.
- drmsux, on 01/23/2008, -1/+1hmm..Apple DOES have the icon : http://www.apple.com/apple-touch-icon.png
- Coolmatt49, on 01/24/2008, -2/+2Ron Paul.
- scarz99, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1hooray for 3rd party apps!
bury me alive..lol - RTourn, on 01/23/2008, -2/+2I guess they have been waiting for the SDK, so they can sell their software for the iPhone.
- JoshChris, on 01/23/2008, -5/+5nothing for sure but it looks like it.
- RobotBuddha, on 01/23/2008, -3/+3Whatever his reason, he's right that it's a long time for a comparatively minor thing. Especially given how long it took people to piece together one by themselves, without the benefit of a large cooperation, a paycheck for doing so, or hardware specs. And what does it matter why he said it? Why resort to personal attacks while ignoring the actual post?
- seaners, on 01/23/2008, -2/+2just use the web app mister chump
