That is exactly why they offer the Applecare, they do not claim their products are perfect and thats why they sell the applecare. I am not trying to be rude, but seriously even if this affected 20% of all iMacs its not going to make apple recall or fix these for free. Every "Exchange + Repair Extension Program" on apples website http://www.apple.com/support/exchange_repair/ is for machines that are 100% affected by their issue. Please be realistic, why would apple be responsible when they already honored their product for 1 year and gave their customers the chance to buy apple care for $160?
