"Music Video" done on an Apple II
stewdio.org — This is awesome , that is very good coding on a apple II remember this is not even an apple IIe with 128k this is an apple II with only 48k of ram. I think the code at end is one of the kewlest things in the video.

- PeeOnYou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0wicked.
- sushic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0that's incredible!
- TheWalkingDude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Fantastic!
I want to see more of this type of thing. Artistic Retro Futuristic. - theone3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heh nice. We've got enough apple news, but dugg anyway, because it's just some scrolling text :D
- dkarlson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Sweet. Great idea.
- calebawilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think that is is great. Especially the code and pan out to show the computer. Very Nice.
- zenmouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This has been on digg at least 3 times before this. Cool video, but it's nothing new.
- sspirit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Wow, i wish I could do this
- bluehouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That code sure brings back memories
- pveale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is probably one of the coolest things I have dugg. Amazing!!!
- wonky73, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Was that supposed to make my ears bleed?

- azzwipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice. Also really liked that song..
- AdamWeeden, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Am I the only one wholly unimpressed by this? Granted I was intoduced to BASIC early (on my brother's C-64 when I was 5), but I could have wrote that when I was 10. No digg.
- bullium, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats really kewl...nice job...I can digg it
- genrebusters, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was ***** awesome - best music video I have seen in over a decade.
- ozydingo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@AdamWeeden
I don't think it was meant to be an impressive show of programming skills. Just an interesting, unique idae for a music video. The music is still the main purpose. Debate all you want as to the quality of that part. - Seumas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm not digging something with "kewl" in the article blurb.
- AdamWeeden, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ozydingo
Good point. - hardcoreUFO, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is very old. I like grandaddy though ...
- TheCheeta, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"Am I the only one wholly unimpressed by this? Granted I was intoduced to BASIC early (on my brother's C-64 when I was 5), but I could have wrote that when I was 10. No digg."
But you didn't. STFU. - chongy5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice!
- carletonknight, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Dupe. This is old. No digg, even though it is cool.
- splitsixty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it was definatly funny, like beck!
Nicely done - MazeBot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i bit old- macTV podcast released a separate video of it. Still amazing, must have seen it 20+ times.
- RevnCliffie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can only imagine how many trial runs were needed to tweak the timing.
- sonnysavage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0+Digg... that made my day. I've never heard the song before, but it's really nice.
- super_structure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Saw this via BoingBoing a few months ago, but it is still cool. Too everyone who thinks this isn't cool, you probably didn't grow up using an Apple ][e like those of us over 25. Sure it's not flashy or anything all that difficult (aside from probably the timing). However, it IS cool because of the nostalgia factor since we did use to write code just like this. Too bad you can't be impressed with anything other than flashy lights and flaming logos or you might stop to appreciate the beautiful simplicity of a video shot on the first consumer computer most of us ever knew.

20 PRINT "THAT IS AWESOME";
30 GOTO 50;
40 PRINT "THAT IS LAME. NO DIGG";
50 END; - CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love this video and have seen it many times, especially on Digg... "Are you using Search"?
- RatBagu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I remember this on Rocketboom a couple of months ago... :)
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was beautiful. Sometimes I miss the days when computers were just another object, not the focus of the world...
- psytek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that is beautifull, almost brings a tear to my eye.... +digg
- ortichi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg digg diggggggg. Very nice stuff indeed. Worth saving to watch in 10 years, when this is really really ancient
- markthegoth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Love it...sitting here trying to do my C++ coursework and its nice to be reminded that coding CAN be fun. +digg
- vandykee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i miss QBASIC. maybe they'll include it in vista.
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cool video, but the music is sooo emo-like. ill digg anyway :D

There's a TI-83 music video. - DiggedBy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0uh muh gawh! ...no digg for saying "Kewl"
- Turtle502, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg! I remember doing similar stuff on a TI-994A! That takes a lot of work...
- kevin45, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0What a waste of time.
- illu45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool.
- stevievep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not going to digg it, because I was rather unimpressed. I fondly remember those Apple/Atari/Commodore BASIC days...thought it was going to be more interesting.
- lazerdave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Seen this before, but anything to do with Grandaddy is always spectacular.
- ppflea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0...great, and I like music!
- ibettinger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's awesome, i mean really awesome!
- nickgs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pretty cool! Good music video regardless of the underlying system. +digg
- OrangeWhip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wonder if we'll see something like this on "Lost" with the bunker's smokin' computer?
Lost
9PM-10PM
Synopsis: Michael and Walt instant message each other and work on some funky dance beats. Sawyer recuperates and dances along. - xcanadian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damn nice video. I hated Grandaddy's version of 'Revolution' from the "I am Sam" soundtrack but this made me reconsider them.
BTW who the hell cares if you Digg a story or not? The 'I digg' or 'No digg' comments in every thread are one of many the things that make the comments here seem less mature than /. -
