But you didn't. STFU. - CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love this video and have seen it many times, especially on Digg... "Are you using Search"?
- OrangeWhip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I wonder if we'll see something like this on "Lost" with the bunker's smokin' computer?
Lost
9PM-10PM
Synopsis: Michael and Walt instant message each other and work on some funky dance beats. Sawyer recuperates and dances along. - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was beautiful. Sometimes I miss the days when computers were just another object, not the focus of the world...
- zenmouse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3This has been on digg at least 3 times before this. Cool video, but it's nothing new.
- super_structure, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Saw this via BoingBoing a few months ago, but it is still cool. Too everyone who thinks this isn't cool, you probably didn't grow up using an Apple ][e like those of us over 25. Sure it's not flashy or anything all that difficult (aside from probably the timing). However, it IS cool because of the nostalgia factor since we did use to write code just like this. Too bad you can't be impressed with anything other than flashy lights and flaming logos or you might stop to appreciate the beautiful simplicity of a video shot on the first consumer computer most of us ever knew.

- cornfused, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I simply refuse to believe anything cool like this can exist, because the record companies have told me that cool stuff requires huge outlays of money to justify a $16.99 CD pricetag or $0.99 online single.
Clearly this is all a figment of my imagination and I will call my RIAA overlords and report to them that I am in violation of the thought cartel. - cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not as cool, but:

There's a TI-83 music video. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm not digging something with "kewl" in the article blurb.
- stevievep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not going to digg it, because I was rather unimpressed. I fondly remember those Apple/Atari/Commodore BASIC days...thought it was going to be more interesting.
- bagochris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Kinda Creepy like that movie sphere....
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah this is old but i love grandaddy and am glad folks discovered it.
btw, if you want to get into grandaddy, start with "the sophtware slump". - gofortyeight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is awesome!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"neat link, but no digg because you used the word "kewl". ass."
Yeah, you should have used "ckooewl"... then you would have been T3H L337!!!!!111one1! JU57 L1K3 acceptableuname!!!!1111one!!!1 - intoflatlines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0reminds me of my QBASIC days

That video was inspired. Simply beautiful. - frankthomas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0All music videos should be this way ***** tit's an ass nothing gets my blood boiling like a screen full of ascii
- freonchill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0does that band happen to have their music under the Creative Commons Licensing?
if so, where can i download their cd ? - kiantech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"cool video, but the music is sooo emo-like. ill digg anyway :D"
TRU DAT ***** - spoid_, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Song is not available on CDs, but does come in a stack of 5.25" floppies.
- minigig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"However, the submitter is a bit over impressed. I mean you know the Apple ][ DID actually have graphic capabilities!" -snuf42
Sorry for liking the Video , I just enjoyed the music and the coding . Now for the coding I owned a few apple II and programed on them for a long time and even thou that this is only text and not Graphics that is still impressive. If you know anything about Applesoft you know that there is not an easy way for the text to do that, like when text scrolls on the screen while some other text does not. Now about the memory , you see that since that there is only 48k on the machine and you do not even have that much free for applesoft you can run out of memory to program, In fact I have programed on a apple II+ and ran out of memory programming and had to bring it over to the IIe to finished it. - mr3xcellent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I always wondered what inspired the song by Grandaddy, but never took the time to look it up. This songs been one of my favorites for a long time. The video was a perfect fit. The whole album this song is from is one of my top tens ever.

- kitykity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was on Rocketboom months ago.
- nigelstewart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great work. I can't believe I gave my II+ to a college buddy. I wonder if he still has it.
- ImKenny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This guy has absolutely no life. hahaha. I digg it :)
- suppazone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@tazamore
LOL - very well put - Giggy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very nice and simplistic. Other musicians should take note of this.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wish there was an no-digg button that decreases lame story digg counts.
- gambl0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I liked the idea... then I saw it was Grandaddy and I loved the idea :D
What a perfect band to do this kind of video for.
Only sad they left out the end... test tones and failed clones and.... our parts made you. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0900% Cool and Diggable. Seriously. *thumbs up*
- elfhat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was awesome!
- wraithemail, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pure genius! awesome! i hope we can see more like this from old equipment in our garages and basements. (this is why i never throw any computers or peripherals away)
- Nerfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"neat link, but no digg because you used the word "kewl". ass."
+1. sorry charlie - gandhii, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0brings back good memories.. cool idea and good simple execution. The guy has a good aesthetic.
on a side note: I have to agree with Xcanadian's comment that whether or not someone dugg something is at best totally irrelavent, and at worst... appears immature. - minigig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow sorry for using kewl. since when was that a bad "word" to use
- eean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They got to the moon with 4k of RAM and 74k of ROM, I hope you'd be able to make a music video in only 48k of RAM. :)
- streetstealth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Beautiful in its simplicity and profoundly moving in the deep-rooted nostalgic chords it strikes.
Really, I can't see how anyone with a heart could shrug this off as unimpressive. - minigig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sorry if this was a duped linked I looked around and could not fined on here. But hey at least it gives a chance to all those new diggers out there to see it again.
- mrkuhn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice. I can't believe the sound was mixed with the Apple II though, but the video was artistic.
