- HunterTV, on 10/14/2007, -9/+235Double insult: BSOD on a crappy yellowed CRT monitor.
- Gir9000, on 10/14/2007, -18/+230Hope they keep it that way...very funny!
- a3r0, on 10/11/2007, -22/+183Blue screen jokes. Now THERE'S a joke that's witty and fresh!
- BananaAmbush, on 10/11/2007, -9/+157Just in case: http://iseenothing.com/files/windowsshare.png
- illegalamigo, on 10/11/2007, -7/+97How dare I click something with 37 diggs and expect it to be up still!
- louiemantia, on 10/11/2007, -7/+90Jumbo (512x512): http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2969/genericpcjt9.png
- hijinks, on 10/11/2007, -13/+95let the betting begin.. will they keep this in the final version?
- Luigi239, on 10/11/2007, -6/+83Heh, thats nice. What's even better is in the keynote, they listed the PC as "Attic PC".
Clever. - ZPWeeks, on 10/11/2007, -10/+65Number of Digg users that still think that (diggs = visits) != Digg users that comment on how many diggs before the site goes dead.
- BlackAle, on 10/11/2007, -21/+72BSOD's are soooo windows 9x
- mikev, on 10/11/2007, -2/+46I dunno how Apple does it. They can make an ugly beige box with a BSOD on it look beautiful.
- smartmlp, on 10/11/2007, -2/+40Honestly, maybe if we wouldn't have spotted it. But now we have spotted it, I dont think there is any point in keeping it in the final version, plus if it was a developers only easter egg, management now knows about it...
- inactive, on 02/25/2009, -14/+52By the way I for once thought nowadays modern Windows OSs such as XP and Vista generate less errors and days of BSOD are pretty much gone by now. Am I the only one who's thinking this way?
- RayBan, on 10/11/2007, -24/+59Honestly when was the last time any of you got the blue screen of death? Even Microsoft made a screen saver based on it as a joke.
I'm sure Leopard will be a great OS but will Apple ever get past trying to bash Windows? The I'm a Mac, I'm a PC commercials are the biggest joke I have ever seen. Mac is for fun, Windows is for spreadsheets? Who the hell are they trying to fool? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -25/+59This new comment system ***** blows.
- ConservoHippie, on 10/11/2007, -5/+37It's not an easter egg. It's a feature.
- NicksVideo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+33Can I get a few more?
- CheapDigWannbe, on 10/11/2007, -40/+71I'll buy a mac the day apple stops being a little bitch and making me feel bad for liking my windows machine...

Direct link to image. - hellotyler, on 10/11/2007, -5/+30how is this an 'easter egg' ? don't you usually have to do something special to find easter eggs? this seems like it's built right in
- WhiteIce89, on 10/11/2007, -7/+31Thanks, Cpt. Obvious.
- CompIsMyRx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+23Quadruple Insult: The BSOD Message ("A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:XXXXXXXX") is caused by Symantec!
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/189655
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if an older version of a Symantec program (such as Norton AntiVirus) is installed. - omegafighters, on 10/11/2007, -6/+29I can't believe this is real.
- Danrarbc, on 10/11/2007, -10/+32That's the worst part of the icon. It actually IS a 98 BSOD if you look at it.
Gotta love Apple, using a 10 year old no-longer-supported OS to get in a dig at Microsoft. - illegalamigo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+24Actually, I didn't really notice what the fuss was about 'til I read his comment.
- knuckles, on 10/11/2007, -2/+23Make that a triple insult, looking at the 512x512 of that monitor I noticed the screen isn't even a flatscreen...
http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/2969/genericpcjt9.png - bsdfree, on 10/11/2007, -5/+21Yes, but the two numbers are certainly correlated. The number of diggs is obviously indicative of how many people have visited the site - a story with 10000 diggs is clearly going to have more people visiting the site than a story with 1000. Whether there are 2 or 5 or 10 site views per digg, you can't deny that having a site crash with 30 diggs is frustrating when many other sites can easily take thousands.
- pifko1987, on 10/11/2007, -7/+23LOLOLOLOL OMG, COS MAKS NEVAR CRASH!
- Danrarbc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17Typically? Bad driver/hardware, some form of poorly written software (for instance, spyware), or user error.
- BlackAle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Apples freeze? nah, they pause indefinitely... time to allow you to get your Apple prayer mat out and worship the great one.
- Kazbaeden, on 10/11/2007, -14/+29Pretty funny. Also funny with the old-looking CRT monitor. Too bad that's just a window into 1998 and doesn't really reflect today.
- c5kirk, on 10/11/2007, -3/+17Yes it does!
- kris33, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16Not photoshopped at all. I run Leopard and it has that icon.
Oh, BTW, Adobe is going to sue both of us because we uses Photoshop as a word! - RayBan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15If your idea of fun is watching a slide show to music, I would hate to come to any of your parties.
- illegalamigo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16lol@ottomatically
- etruscan, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16I don't remember the last time I got a BSOD... it certainly wasn't on Windows XP. To be fair, if you treat a machine like ***** (which is much easier to do in the Windows world thanks to a plethora of worthless and shoddy downloads that trick people who don't know any better) then it will run like *****.
- donnyburnside, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17I ***** second that.
- vegasmacguy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15I would have replied sooner but it took ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY SEVEN THOUSAND CLICKS TO GET HERE.
- gcnaddict, on 10/11/2007, -6/+18Microsoft will probably pull an Apple and sue them for copyright infringement (hey, Apple C&D'd WIRED for some of the Leopard screenshots under the copyright excuse. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft does the same thing to shut them up.)
- Chairboy, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15
It's YET ANOTHER part of the 9/11 conspiracy! - inactive, on 02/25/2009, -13/+25and I will buy a mac the day apple stops pricing their products hilariously expensive
- donnyburnside, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15...When will these fan boys just stfu?
- heavyd14, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Microsoft didn't make that. Sysinternals did, then Microsoft bought them out.
- inkswamp, on 10/11/2007, -8/+19Really? Explain why the guy at the next desk over from me where I work gets blue screens from time to time using XP.
- Danrarbc, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13Which is why Vista has a lot of the drivers in userspace now.
Or am I not allowed to point out a new version of Windows that actually fixed a problem? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14This was pretty funny, but I have to say that Apple's attitude over the last year or so has gone from entertaining to annoying.
- losierp, on 10/11/2007, -5/+15Leopard is unique in that if you expand the sharing section you ottomatically see all the servers and pcs on your network. Networking via SMB and Bonjour has been significantly improved in Leopard.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Believe it. I am betting they will change the icon before Leopard ships. The Terminal icon had a Matrix look for a little while but it's been changed to something closer to the Tiger version.
- ricodued, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10You're new here, aren't you?
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Why are people digging him down? I don't get BSODs on my work PC very often but it does occasionally happen. Same goes for my MacBook Pro, only they are called kernel panics and they are prettier and more international (multiple languages). That said, Apple really shouldn't be bragging too much because misbehaving 3rd party software can bring any system down.
