- Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -161/+12Wow, and the fact that he is putting the iPod powdered remains on eBay is just ***** stupid.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -110/+4It was a joke, not fact. Sheesh.
- Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -7/+90Pretty sure its not a joke:
http://www.willitblend.com/images/ebay.jpg - DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -51/+4Hmm...wow. Didn't see that.
- gxcdesign, on 10/12/2007, -31/+273I want them to blend a Zune
- Anliz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+71Sometimes its worth it to spend a bit of money to bring enough attention to yourself. He definately didnt lose money on this.
- neuroelectron2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+58how could you not digg this post? That was effen awesome.
- wild, on 10/12/2007, -34/+17guy, its viral marketing for BlendTec. ;-)
Don't be so gullible. - bmeckel, on 10/12/2007, -37/+3"I want them to blend a Zune"
Oh wouldn't we all, wouldn't we all. No me gusta la zune porque es stupid (i totally pay attention in spanish class, duh!) - xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -29/+16Eat it apple, eat it. Muwahahahahaha
- crawf061, on 10/12/2007, -9/+164Will it buffer?
sorry, it had to be said...... - wild, on 10/12/2007, -13/+128Actually, it would be funny if they blended a 360 and a Wii together...
Wii it blend? Yes! Wii60! - stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -26/+6bmeckel, that was pretty bad. I don't know about you guys, but I hate it when people jokingly attempt to speak in a foreign language, especially Spanish, since I know it better than the average person (assuming average isn't, say, Hispanic)
- swifty12, on 10/12/2007, -2/+141I suggested he blends live ammunition. I hope he uses my idea :)
- zeiben, on 10/12/2007, -13/+42"I want them to blend a Zune"
Why? would that alter its appeal? - PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -5/+110*gasp*
Every time Tom blends an iPod, Steve Jobs kills a kitten. - phort99, on 10/12/2007, -5/+81^^Solution: Blend the kitten before Steve gets to it.
He'd do it too, sadistic iPod killing bastard... D: - thefreshbeats, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Haha, you guys are hilarious. If that was actually a WORKING iPod, I'm sure he would have turned it on before blending. Of course they didn't lose money... the iPod cost them nothing! I do want one of those blenders now... the $800 one. ;)
- Legato, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11just when you thought frivolous bullet proof ipod cases were just a gimmick
http://www.mobilewhack.com/reviews/bulletproof_ipod_-_a_blast_from_the_past.html - Jerky1312, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@coasters2k
I had recommended they blend 3 ipods about a month and a half ago in one of their youtube videos. I'm sure its been suggested a number of times though. They have a suggestions/requests area on the site, so if anyone has more ideas, send them in. - Sblader5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I like how it was on smoothie.....
- kasadilla, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19put a PS3 in there and maybe we will get some entertainment out of one.
- dimsum05, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3That's what my Nano looks like after jogging with in in my pocket...
- biochem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+51this just verifies the poor scratch resistance of the ipod
- gann, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Damn, it hurts...
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Man, that is one bad-ass blender. iPod smoothie coming right up!
He should definitely try to blend a handful of bullets next. - MaceSoul, on 10/12/2007, -6/+6Blend Steve Jobs, please.
- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Thank you for linking directly to Blendtec's website, instead of youtube. That way they get paid for their videos, and we don't have to look at those annoying comments such as "you suck", "Tom Dickson is gay", "lol his last name is dick", and "go back to russia!"
- FalseProphecy, on 10/12/2007, -11/+72Is it just me or did that thing break up WAY TOO easily?
I'd bid on it just to pour the remains in another iPod. I'll be the only one with a iPodPod.- voidptr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+65I hope he took the battery out first. Lithium Ion/Polymer cells don't tend to take well to that kind of abuse.
- lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -34/+4edit: nevermind
- neuroelectron2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53that is a 1200 watt blender, I don't think iPod has anything on it.
- DPimp1262, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Nah that's the 4th gen ipod. I have one and it pops open pretty easy. (which let me very happily fix it by just unplugging and plugging back in the hard drive go figure). If you notice the front and back don't blend for a while. Once it opens however the inside is gutted to hell and the outside doesn't last much longer.
- chembro84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+37"I hope he took the battery out first. Lithium Ion/Polymer cells don't tend to take well to that kind of abuse."
He didn't try it at home, so there is no danger. - twalker294, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Too easily? That thing blended three hockey pucks into rubber pellets. There's not much that stands a chance against that kind of power.
- alternative724, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Dude, he slammed a ***** golf club down that thing.
The blades are what? Adamantium?
also had to be said. - leejae, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0"He didn't try it at home, so there is no danger."
As long as it's not your home, it's fine! - scb0825, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Uhmmm.... have you seen the other stuff he's blended? A rake handle, bag of marbles, etc. It surprised me how long it took just for it to break up.
- guyincognito, on 10/12/2007, -13/+142willitblend.com is just about the best site on the net
- mongrel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Must be one of the most successful viral ad campaigns ever - and such an obscure market! Probably wasn't even intentional that it caught on like this, I'm curious what the history is - but too lazy to look it up of course.
- iseebluuue, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3it's not the best quite yet
now if he added a little liquid and drank the resulting toxic smoothie it would be the best site on the net - creamyhorror, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Miles better than the Sony PSP abortion of a site.
- kiensoy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+177An iSmoothie
- Enasni1212, on 10/12/2007, -16/+74Aww, don't digg him down. Yeah, it's an overused joke, but that actually made me laugh.
- Konvict, on 10/12/2007, -52/+11@Enasni1212
They are probably going to digg YOU down for making that comment. And me as well... - devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -45/+25No, the digg law is you do the opposite of what the person asks. So you guys will get dugg up, and I will be buried. Digg me!
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -42/+9devin, that is so true.
Now, digg me down! - Konvict, on 10/12/2007, -40/+9When will this ***** stop?
*waits to get dugg down* - SystemHasFailed, on 10/12/2007, -9/+26I'm partial to iFrappe myself...
- bin673, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2and I will have a Grande please.. =)
- homestar14, on 10/12/2007, -6/+24Amazingly, some of it was still intact (looked like part of the shell).
Glad to hear he's upgrading to the new iPod. - stmiller, on 10/12/2007, -8/+37I've got to get a blender like that.
- avihappy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18They are advertising their blenders you know, look for a Buy link. :)
- BadassCheese, on 10/12/2007, -8/+147Will it buffer?
Please post YouTube link.- Jjcd7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Here you go.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzV2fImonQI - Jjcd7, on 10/12/2007, -18/+11Arrgg, digg needs a delete comment button. Sorry for the double.
(No digg me up or digg me down here, folks!) - avolant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21i wonder how many times someone has to say
"Arrgg, digg needs a delete comment button" before they will just give us a delete comment button? have you guys seen the comments on here? like it would be so bad to give someone that one last second to think 'hey, maybe i shouldn't write that...'
i certainly don't think so, anyway. and besides. accidents happen.
delete button, please?
- Jjcd7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+29Here you go.
- 777lucky, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Man they should use that thing for crowd controll
- eschompthis, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4YOU MONSTERS!!!
- cr125er, on 10/12/2007, -12/+7Digg's tendency to abhor any harm towards Apple or an Apple product, will it blend?
- TeKoverride, on 10/12/2007, -6/+104I still want him to blend that crowbar. The ***** hasn't done it yet.
- txrat, on 10/12/2007, -24/+5http://www.willitblend.com/videos.aspx?type=unsafe&video=crowbar
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1It's right there on the page.....
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Ok, my bad. It's buffered now.
The ***** didn't do the crowbar. - ahdu99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yeah, you tell him.
- MaxwellTD, on 10/12/2007, -5/+33Does the warranty cover that?
- deaper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What I want to know is if the blenders warranty covers that.
- guyincognito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9"umm... ya, tech support... my ipod wont work.... it sorta fell in the blender......"
haha
- deff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21Thats a damn good blender.
- 777lucky, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9Yes, amidst all of the badassness (Firefox doesn't think that's a word) I think that's the point the viral add campaign is trying to get across.
- shadus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6They're honest and upfront that they're advertising for the blender though... and I'm cool with that. What annoys me is the ***** like sony tried to pull with the psp and such. Long as I know its advertising if it entertains me I'll pass it along... the first time I think something is ***** trying to pose as not advertising that is... *roars*
- duxxyuk, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0I think that's the point .... as for the ipod.... Sniff... ,,,,,;-(
- AlexMarar, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4Aww no Zune :(
- homercaholic18, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2I need to get one of these benders seeing as how mine is from like world war one.....Why couldn't he blend one of those stupid ipod minis?
- davidestroy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6because he'd have as much luck with the anodized aluminum that the entire casing of the mini is made of as he would with the crowbar he tempts us with in another video and the casing of the ipod in this video.
- bradleyland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Aluminum is relatively soft. The anodized coating wouldn't stop that blender.
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0YES AWESOME!
- iomegaboy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21WHEN will it blend?
- Raian, on 10/12/2007, -10/+23That thing is going to sell for a million dollars on ebay
- maymats, on 10/12/2007, -13/+3maybe a million nanodollars
- BobOrleans, on 10/12/2007, -5/+13Tom just wants a free ipod video.
- Lowry, on 10/12/2007, -6/+132Blendtec Marketing Dept > Sony Marketing Dept
- MagicBobert, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Sadly, this is very, very true.
- SirBryce, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17And that's why sony needs to blend a PS3. Works for the other guy, right?
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Yeah. Suddenly, I want a blender.
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -38/+2Hahaha the ipod broke in less than a second after he hit the switch. Too bad they'll never do Zune, because its pretty much unbreakable unless you explode with a HE.
- dignation, on 10/12/2007, -3/+24that doesn't seem to be helping their sales much
- deaper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15No he'd never do a zune cause that would require them to actually BUY a zune.
- koolaiddude, on 10/12/2007, -37/+2is he working for Microsoft or the makers of Zune?
- homestar14, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17No, he said he upgrading to a newer one.
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -5/+54they are actually the same company, believe it or not. Microsoft makes the Zune
- jtcalhoun, on 10/12/2007, -10/+6@Lumiras: "they are actually the same company, believe it or not. Microsoft makes the Zune"
Actually, Toshiba makes the Zune.
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -13/+6I've been waiting years for this day... *tear of JOY* :D
*prepares for burial* - ez12a, on 10/12/2007, -10/+0What? No donation of the profit to charity?
- BobOrleans, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3@ez12a
they gotta pay for the bills somehow. not everyone can afford a $400 blender - DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2What the $10 that they'll make from that iCrap dust?
- BobOrleans, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3@ez12a
- leftfoot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+71Another way of making sure your data is destroyed when the FBI is knocking on the door...
- DiggMeUpPlsThx, on 10/12/2007, -25/+10Trust me some detective will still be able to superglue it and read the harddrive.
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38Unless you live in the fantasy world of CSI or other cop shows... They can always pull digital data out of their asses... You could drop a nuclear bomb on a hard drive and the geek-of-the-show could extract all the data after staying up all night.
- leftfoot, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3@RyeBrye
It was actually supposed to be a joke. - burke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Blend it with thermite! Once the battery explodes, you're set!
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -6/+48Nice, an apple smoothie.
- Lyph4, on 10/12/2007, -4/+96This just goes to show how easily the iPod's screen scratches.
- dotuplink, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Digg Effect?
- noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -15/+4What a DICK!
HAHHA GET IT?!?!?!!1 - Eleo, on 10/12/2007, -42/+4Tom Dickson always comes off as homosexual to me.
- Thundercat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+29Because he's calm and mild-mannered? Give me a break.
- panique, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Well Eleo, perhaps it's time for you to come out.
- jimmyjimmy05, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3@ gxcdesign:
I want them to blend Microsoft! - xswag, on 10/12/2007, -34/+1This is a Viral Marketing Campaign so wise up Diggers and quit digging these videos to the front page.
Marked as Spam!- Thundercat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14It doesn't make the videos any less entertaining. Since when did motive overshadow the sheer spectacle? :)
- ebs16, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19It's still fun to watch. And no ad campaign could get me to buy a $600 blender.
- rageguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I know its viral marketing, but who cares, its awesome :-)
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm pretty sure everyone knows that they're selling blenders there. It doesn't mean its not a great idea.
- steveng, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3I almost just cried
- Sunsneezer, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Bah the thing was most probably dead before he blended it.
...
I wonder if he removed the impotent battery beforehand. And how. - leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4The site is a bit slow, but you can also see all of these on YouTube as well.
- compu73rg33k, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2link please?
- leonbev, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Why would someone mod this comment down? I was trying to help you see the video quicker.
Oh, wait, I'm in the Apple topic. Logic doesn't apply here :) - Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1well it's not on Youtube (yet) so you aren't really helping us out.
- SteveMax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQg0JNaKeVM&eurl=
- weedian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I loves this!
- zeeky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hahaha thats some quality video... Of course just like the cell phone one, they removed the battery beforehand (lithium-based ones explode when punctured).
- Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! oh wait it's old.
Sweet! - Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Lets see a zune blend!
- dinh, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I want to see half of a Wii in there :)
- teddyrux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28I just got the most original and amazing idea.
Coke...And Mentos.- igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14this is how i read your comment:
"...Coke"
thought to myself: *they did it already*
"... and Mentos"
thought to myself: ****** SON!* - deaper, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Needs to be diet coke and mentos. Coke uses real sugar and won't cause near the reaction.
- kimos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@deaper: "Needs to be diet coke and mentos. Coke uses real sugar and won't cause near the reaction."
Actually, I don't think the sugar has anything to do with the reaction. It was my understanding that they used diet cola because it's not sticky and it's easier to clean up... - Otto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Diet works better because diet soda has more carbonation. Simple as that, really.
And Coke doesn't use real sugar except in the Kosher versions. They use HFCS like all the other soft drinks.
- igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14this is how i read your comment:
- CoolWind, on 10/12/2007, -15/+2Will It Blend is totally spam. Bury it.
- camintmier, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3That looked like an old 4g ipod to me. I only know this because I own one.
- sausagecat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I want to blend my MacPro...
- dsalmon9, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I wonder if that thing can blend a Blendtec blender.
- KingMoses, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, dude. They should fight.
- kimos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Now THAT is the first good suggestion I've seen on this thread! Though it's obvious that it couldn't blend the blending blades...
- zlyoga, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I misread it as bend. I was like ooh bending an ipod cool!
- NinJar, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1i wanted that =(
- woranl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13yummy... it's Apple juice !
What's next?
I suggest: Apple IPod + RIM Blackberry = apple berry juice - PRlME, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2i want him to blend a small propain tank (wrong spelling)
- PaulGriffin, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Rumor has it that he was going to blend a Zune, but when he tried, it didnt work because the Zune is durable.
- vhcougar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6...was that supposed to be like a joke or something?
