Why Sandisk Sansa Clip is better than the IPod Shuffle
anythingbutipod.com — Apple just announced a price drop on the screenless iPod Shuffle. So with this news, I thought that this would be the best time to put the iPod in the ring with a smarter choice and show you that despite the price cut, the iPod Shuffle is still an overprice shinny object.

- WalkGood, on 02/20/2008, -4/+5Clip ftw hands down, Why does the clip sound better: - No hiss - Sound quality is more realistic or natural - Balanced across the spectrum of sound from high to low - Very good sound stage - The theory of enhancing the sound could be the shielding between the various components in the clip - AS3525A/B microcontroller - need i say more ;)
- clak, on 02/20/2008, -2/+1What are you talking about. I've never had "hiss" on my iPod. Of course, I don't have the shuffle.
- Slovenian6474, on 02/20/2008, -0/+2Shuffle's processor is a downgrade from other ipods'. Larger ipods have a decent processor.
- clak, on 02/20/2008, -2/+1What are you talking about. I've never had "hiss" on my iPod. Of course, I don't have the shuffle.
- Slovenian6474, on 02/20/2008, -2/+4Just bought a Clip last night. I'll take a slightly larger "less-cool" player for a screen and drag n' drop.
- dyranios2, on 02/20/2008, -3/+4But being able to sync with itunes is hella convenient.
- clak, on 02/20/2008, -7/+3OMG. This is what the Apple haters have resorted to? Bashing the Shuffle? They can't dissuade people from the iPod Touch and iPod Classics, so they attack the smallest guy in the room. Good Grief.
- transversed, on 02/20/2008, -5/+2The Shuffle is defined not only by what it does, but also what it doesn't do. If Apple thought it would be a good idea to put all of the Clip's features in such a small package they would have. Frankly this guy is winey and all to eager to prove that a product exists that trumps an already established Apple gadget.
- Cptnodegard, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2Indeed. Better to pay a insanely high price so you dont have to carry those features around, otherwise you might end up using them, and god forbid that should happen.
- FrododorF, on 02/20/2008, -1/+2i present to you the spegetti noodle, it is deffined not by what it can do but what it can't!
it does not have a screen,
it won't last for very long
it won't make playlists
and as an added bonus...
It won't play music!!!!
it is the best player EVER- exomni, on 03/03/2008, -0/+1I don't want a screen on my spaghetti noodles, thank you very much.
- enzoten, on 02/20/2008, -1/+3There are many products that trump the iPod lineup. Get out of the Apple bubble for a minute and breathe some fresh air.
- sassafrassy, on 02/20/2008, -1/+6What I don't understand is why everyone thinks this article is "bashing" the shuffle. It seems like a pretty fair comparison. Granted, it's coming from a site called 'Anythingbutipod', but even still it's not just blind Apple bashing.
- WalkGood, on 02/21/2008, -0/+0Respect ;)
- edicius, on 02/21/2008, -1/+1Well, for one, it lists the price of the expensive shuffle but lists the storage specs for the cheaper one to make it appear inadequate.
- exomni, on 03/03/2008, -0/+1The shuffle is a completely unique product. I applaud apple for putting an MP3 playing into something so breathtakingly fashionable, seriously, it's basically just an awesome-looking wearable accessory.
However, I will say this:
As just a little aluminum accessory, it really shouldn't cost more than $30 or $40 for the 1GB version.
And products like the Sansa Clip, which are heavy on features and include screens, are COMPLETELY different products, with benefits in their own right. The Sansa Clip is amazing, but it's not going for the elitist fashionable look of the shuffle (well, if it is it's failing miserably, at least).
The shuffle isn't supposed to be feature-heavy, it's supposed to be absolutely tiny, and cool looking. That's all. And it succeeds by leaps and bounds. Definitely the best looking MP3 player on the market. - Epik, on 04/26/2008, -0/+1I've been using a nano for runs and workouts but switched to the clip a few weeks ago. It's been perfect so far. It's light, clips onto my shorts, and you don't need crappy software like iTunes. I was never into the shuffle because it has no screen, meaning far less functionality, no repeat option, no fm tuner, less battery life, and more expensive for less product.
