- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+48if you're going to smuggle in a mic you might as well sneak in a camcorder, too. i have a feeling this site will last about five seconds...
- bradallen18, on 10/11/2007, -0/+32"BOOM"
- zweben, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3120 minutes before the keynote starts.
- Wailord, on 10/11/2007, -0/+28Hurrah!
It's just that much more satisfying _hearing_ "oh, and one more thing". - samgab, on 10/11/2007, -0/+24They want good cellphone signal this year... for the iPhone demo!
- ComputerNap, on 10/11/2007, -2/+24There's never a stream from Apple. They quit doing that a few years back. Only thing you can expect from Apple is a recording a few hours later.
- Rice, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21Oh no you didn't.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Any bets on how long it'll take before the site is overloaded?
- tvstare, on 10/11/2007, -4/+19cool thx for puting this thing up you rock
- Shaggy3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Haha you sound like the people referred to in that article earlier about responses to the first iPod.
- ross., on 10/11/2007, -1/+13USTREAM servers suck the big one!! If they can't handle 100 Leo Laporte fans, how the hell are they going to handle 38 million fan boys!!!
- xShad0w, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13Yea audio is good and all but wheres the video?
- BeingHuman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12SWEET!!!!
Now we can hear Steve say those magical words as they happen! :D YAY!
(I still want to see a video afterward, though.) - robshoy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7How agonizing will that be? "And here, is the brand new, insanely great looking new interface of Leopard. We like to call it... Illuminious!"
I'd go insane. - Bootes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Since it's on Digg now, I wouldn't be surprised if it dies before it's even the day of the keynote.
- Sun.Surfin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Um... haven't they blocked cellphone signals at some keynotes in the past? I seem to recall it happening at one two years ago, and maybe at others.
- seaner, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Ustream can hardly handle Leo Laporte's shows let alone the whole Digg/Apple community.
- macbwizard, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8direct link: http://ustream.tv/channel/wwdc-2007-keynote-live-audio-stream
- Marku$, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5wasn't there a video and audio stream from Apple last year ?
- Jeffrey903, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Cali Lewis (GeekBrief.TV) will also be doing a live stream on UStream, however, I am not sure if she will be in the Moscone center with a video camera or just at home reading MacRumorsLive / Engadget and just talking about what she reads.
- ricodued, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@Bloaty (#7117682)
Do what I used to do: Come home, go IMMEDIATELY to google, do an I'm Feeling Lucky on "wwdc 07 stream apple.com" or whatever you feel will do best. Hopefully you'll have come home a few hours after the event has ended and you'll go right to the stream, not having anything spoiled for you :)
I never, ever visit digg until after I've seen the stream. - zero_bit, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I miss when the Keynotes used to be live on TechTV. It was fun watching the lamp iMac announcement on TV. We woke up early and popped popcorn and everything.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5She can do whatever she likes...shaaaa-wing!
- zsears, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@ricodued
Mac Rumors has a page that is spoiler free that will link to apples stream when it becomes available.
http://www.macrumors.com/2007/06/07/wwdc-2007-spoiler-free-keynote-stream/ - elfguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"This year iPhone Alley has something special in store for you all." This year?? Was there an iPhone Alley last year?
- hokkos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Why not make a video bittorrent live streaming ?
http://esm.cs.cmu.edu/download/ - mentor972, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yeah, this will crash Ustream. It's 12 hours before the keynote, and there's already 400 people logged on.
- eleven, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2LOL - yeah now that everyone knows it exists I'll expect this stream to last a good solid minute before it 404s.
- cbabraham, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Ustream is a pretty big site, it's not just going to go down like your average photobucket link. It will put up a fight.
- tobsterius, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2We'll see..
Various sites have made the same promises in the past, nothing ever came of it. Hope pans out though, I'd like to hear it live. - affanjam, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Cool right after the intermission the # of viewers just started going up and up and up
- StarManta, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2There's a stream every year, but the last time it was live (if I'm not mistaken) was MWSF '04. I remember this because I sat in the cold lobby of my school at the time, which was the only place in the building where i had both wifi and an outlet....
this stream is unofficial, of course, which means it'll probably be fairly unreliable, especially given the extreme server loads these events generate. - jeza, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Well like the rest of the Aussies, I'll be asleep when the keynote is going live, anyway. Perhaps the video will be online by the time I wake up!
- tracydanger, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3My impression is that Cali will be reading MacRumors at home. I want to try and have both this stream and hers going at the same time. That may be interesting.
- MrViklund, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Do you know you are going to get DDoSed after posting this?
- titlesaysitall, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2During the entire keynote I'll be at school....IN COMPUTER CLASS! Suck on that.
- BeingHuman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2@arampapik:
BE GONE, EVIL TROLL!!
WE HAVE FOUND YOU OUT. IF YOU DON'T LEAVE WE'LL POUR A BUCKET OF WATER ON YOU.
Sorry for the caps (EXCEPT TO THE TROLL), but I really, really hate idiots. - macslut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Apple Voices will be providing the audio on PodTech.net which uses both Akamai and Limelight content delivery networks (CDNs).
http://www.podtech.net/home/3282/apple-wwdc-2007-steve-jobs-keynote-podcast-preview-show-us-leopard-the-iphone-and-one-more-thing
And of course there will be text updates and photos.
You'll be able to paste the player on any site. - zabouth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2http://ustream.tv/channel/wwdc-2007-keynote-live-audio-stream
link to streaming host just in case the site go's down ow and there is a chat on there
enjoy - Bootes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well there goes my plan of actually having this be useful. :( Thought I was smart emailing myself that link for tomorrow when the digged site dies.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2They should be using TVU; it works on the Bittorent model, where every client is also serving up packets. the more clients downloading, the strong the stream is. And you just know that a Steve Jobs keynote is gonna get slammed.
http://www.tvunetworks.com/ - Klarke0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1this is the kind of thing you bury people, limited amount of people will be able to watch it, so far tons do. Bury it!
- BeingHuman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Hope so. Good luck, all!
- rebotfc, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Just want to say thanks very much for the audio it was great to hear it in realtime. Shame the keynote itself was a disappointment.
GJ on the feed. - 35chililights, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1looks like it is maxed out at 365 viewers.
been that way for about 5 hours. - jwa898, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1http://www.macrumors.com/2007/06/08/macrumors-coverage-of-wwdc-2007-keynote-web-sms-email/ Mac rumors will be sending out text messages through twitter for those who won't at home
- wcolbert, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Site down? Already?
- rivostevo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1This one should be more reliable - http://live.sitening.com/wwdc2007
- stalefries, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I'll be at school... with no classes. Just got a paper to turn in. Sucks not having a car (or a license, for that matter). :(
At least the school has 3 wireless base stations within range of all my classes. - woot4fun, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0It worked for me. It was great to listen to the keynote.. Apple will probably have a cow about it, but this type of distributed approach to distribute the video/audio will be hard to stop in the future.
