- Angostura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Steve Jobs is probably stripping out all references to Leopard from his presentation right now. "That'll show the Bastards. Boom"
- saralk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I don't think the aim of this is to "win" something. It's just a fun way of the writer to show us his WWDC predictions. Also, it will be quite a site to see a load of people just randomly stand up and shout Bingo.
- estvir, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Haha, that's hilarious, can't wait for this.. Let's hope there's a live video feed so all of us can see/hear it.
.. though, there's only a single card ? They really needed to be randomly generated (You know, like Bingo normally is) but I guess that's a long task.
Maybe ars.technica can hire a mac zealot to stand at the door and hand out a few hundred of the bingo sheets.
"I think that it's better with one card... then everyone yells "BINGO" at the exact same time and we all know what happened and can start laughing our asses off."
I guess there is an upside to a single card. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'm in awe, I'm actually printing one now so I can play along
- coobert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Who does this joker think he is? I had this idea in February of last year!
It even won me some bloody headphones:

Bastards! - nTensify, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Such an awesome idea, but we should really randomize the cards (and possibly use a checksum to guarentee which card is which so we can catch someone who's cheating by saying Bingo early).
Hmm.. maybe someone could code up an online version with randomized tiles. - DocDEB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4SJ, slightly turning away form audience then while turning back, "Oh, and for BINGO, just one more thing..."
- Greyarea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4They've tended not to do live streaming anymore, as I don't think it ever worked very well. What they tend to do is release a stream-on-demand version about 12hrs after the event.
Tends to be on Apple's front page. - Videlicet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Like estvir said, the point of having one card is to have the entire WWDC yelling, "BINGO!" at exactly the same time. This point would probably be right after Steve says something about how Mac is the best or something like that.
One thing to think about, though...
We can assume someone is supposed to win. If there is only one card, everyone will win. Therefore, this PDF is the winning card. You win bingo by getting five squares horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This means that one set of 5 squares on this card has the correct predictions for Leopard, iPod, iPhone, etc. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of Mac could see which squares are "bad" and use that to find the one set that is not eliminated...
....the set that correctly predicts Steve's WWDC keynote. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Good job coobert.
- boredzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Here's my randomized version: http://geocities.com/iamtheboredzo/wwdcbingo
Mirrors (because GeoCities has tight transfer limits):

http://homepage.mac.com/simx/wwdcbingo/
Every time you open any of the EPS files, it will generate a random board for you. (Hooray PostScript!) - macgabriel87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2you know they could edit that out of the webcast. the webcast isn't live anyway.
- Angostura, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I have to say I think you've nailed some of the Jobsian verbal tics splendidly there mate. Very funny, good job. Post a link on the Ars discussion boards, I'm sure Siracuse would be interested.
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's amazing. An interesting idea. But yeah. there needs to be more than one card.
- ifthe21stcentu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Does anyone have information on where we will need to go to view the live webcast, or if there are any prerequisites?
I hope this is public, or at the very least, available to free ADC memberships. - Geetarz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What would be funny if Jobs came out and yelled bingo right as the keynote started. Cause he's the only one who knows.
- dickyducky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No live webcast
- escheppa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Typically you can find a description of what is happening on appleinsider or similar sites. But that kind of defeats the purpose of this game then, since you cannot see or hear it. But for those of us who just can't wait its good enough.
- zweben, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Yeah, it definitely needs to be randomized, otherwise it's just going to be 30 people yelling bingo at once, and no one will ever know who actually won.
Plus, there's a good chance that no one will get bingo. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can someone get on creating some randomized cards so we can actually play, instead of this just being a joke?
- totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Diagonal Upper Left to Lower Right will BINGO first!
- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Boom", Mac Pro Quad, New Cases for Mac Pro, Mac Pro >=$3499, Resolution Independent UI in Leopard!!
- mrbingo1, on 04/08/2009, -0/+0Nice - always great with more bingo :)
- brentris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i wish he put 'innovate' on that list. Steve says that every keynote, especially a WWDC.
- zhangzhang, on 01/05/2009, -0/+0How Great!
- pixelperfect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is their anyone else inside the "Group of people that know and enjoy the difference between mac vs pc's" think this is really funny?
- supermoquette, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Oh, one more Bingo
- mtownand1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0personally, i'm hoping for the center vertical line to be called for bingo.
- ,,|,_, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1Amusing email someone forwarded me last week:

Falling Asleep in Meetings?
Do you keep falling asleep in meetings and seminars? What about those long and boring conference calls? Here's a way to change all of that.
1. Before (or during) your next meeting, seminar, or conference call, prepare yourself by drawing a square. I find that 5" x 5" is a good size. Divide the card into columns and rows -- 5 across and 5 down. That will give you 25 one-inch blocks.
2. Write one of the following words/phrases in each block:
* synergy
* strategic fit
* core competencies
* best practice
* bottom line
* revisit
* expeditious
* to tell you the truth (or "the truth is")
* 24/7
* out of the loop
* benchmark
* value-added
* proactive
* win-win
* think outside the box
* fast track
* result-driven
* empower (or empowerment)
* knowledge base
* at the end of the day
* touch base
* mindset
* client focus(ed)
* paradigm
* game plan
* leverage
3. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases.
4. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand
up and shout "Bull$*!t!" - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2Is their anyone else outside the Icult that thinks this is just sad?
