- canewediggit, on 10/10/2007, -6/+48and you can only get gas from ifuel stations
- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -4/+37Does it come in white?
- MajorD, on 10/10/2007, -10/+37iDouche, from Volksapple.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -9/+34With complementary iWheel, iLeather Seats, iHood, and iAntenna!
- explodingtree, on 10/10/2007, -19/+43A Volkswagen and an iPod. They pair well, and make you look doubly douche-y.
- FyreGoddess, on 10/10/2007, -6/+25...and you can't pump it yourself, you have to have a certified attendant do it for you.
- canewediggit, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19a genius pumper?
- TGMD, on 10/10/2007, -10/+19iHateYou
- ripstuntz, on 10/10/2007, -8/+17iDont believe this, buried as inaccurate.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -6/+15The Volkswagen iCar: because the Cabriolet somehow wasn't quite gay enough
- knobidy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13Its an iPod, a phone, and a terrestrial transportation device!
- ChronicColonic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Am I going to have to ship my car back to have the battery replaced?
- davidrools, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7it doesn't charge from a USB port?
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -8/+14OMG, if Apple releases another iSomething, I think I'll ***** vomit.
I am so sick of this "i" branding. It's really ***** tired. Especially since everyone else in the world is using it too. Please, just stop. - BOBcat5785, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Actually the headlines have changed. They aren't working on a new car. Simply an interface for a high end car. They want to eliminate the P,R,N,D shifter and have it what appears to be a click wheel. http://www.macrumors.com/2007/08/30/apple-designing-car-interfaces/
- pretendex, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8That's the ***** photoshopping job I have ever seen.
- rocko_stazetti, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7If Volkswagen came out with a Hybrid Beetle they would sell like hotcakes. I'm not saying that it would be a great contribution to the environment but it would do very well for Volkswagen sales.
- STKD, on 10/10/2007, -10/+15Apple making a car? Expect serious driver issues then.
(See what I did there?) - DarkDx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7"iPod sold separately"
- benitojuarez, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5I'm not a big fan of apple, but I dislike people that use that stupid phrase even more.
- Chompy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Statistics are what should matter when deciding to buy a car, not anecdotes. I'm glad your jetta has worked out for you, but I would not but one because of the horible surveys. VW also has the lowest owner loyalty of any brand at the moment with a retention level of 22%. They're contemplating leaving the north american market entirely. I dunno why people are digging me down, this stuff is all over the automotive press.
- sweetaddiction, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Confirmed by the Associated Press here:
http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/08/29/ap4066656.html - arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4That is exactly why macrumors is a worthles piece of ***** rag not even worth wiping my ass with. They just make ***** up to get page hits. All of those kind of sites: gizmodo, apple insider, macrumors - they're no better than the ***** tabloids you find at a check out counter in a supermarket. They photoshop ***** together, take pics out of context (like that jaguar story) and blatantly lie just for ***** page hits.
- Kamill85, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I think the car should be named iKar
- stelriah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3i bet it will crash all the time.
- noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -14/+17So having something from a popular brand makes you a douche? I'm sorry, Volkswagen makes some damn good cars and Apple makes some damn good computers is there some sort of problem with liking either?
- slipkn0tz23, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Better not be an electric car. I don't want to charge it through my USB every damn day.
- pretendex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3That's due to a defective break switch. Volkswagen is replacing them for free:
http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/26/bad-brakes-lights-lead-vw-to-recall-790-000-vehicles/ - Chompy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5You also need to take it in to replace the battery. That'll be $600.
- 00kentt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3well then why did you bother clicking the link?
- noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6You know, the only elitists I see are the ***** who somehow think anyone who owns a Volkswagen or Apple product is someone to be looked down on. Please explain to me what the ***** is wrong with owning a car or an MP3 player?
- euro22, on 12/17/2008, -2/+4You fail at image editing.
- macfanboi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2A car that falls apart in a year or two? Looks like the right two companies are talking.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3watch out for exploding batteries. or non removable ones - you're expected to buy a new one every two years.
i also expect it to have only one pedal, you have to hold "control" down when you push it to brake.
and it's going to cost 60,000 for 20,000 worth of car, PLUS you'll have to sign a contract so that you can only drive it on cetain roads in the US Only of course. eventually people will figure out how to get it to work. It will also get scratched up easily.
Just for fun, it will only come out in white first. then black. then they'll make it smaller and release it in 5 colors. then they'll make it smaller still without a windshield because "life is random". - antdude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3How about iKarr (Karr from Knight Rider)?
- palehorse864, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Oops, iCrashed
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3golden comment!
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3No, but you will need the Apple iTorqueWrench to open the compartment
- chrisc262, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3true - i am surprised VW hasn't jumped on the hybrid bandwagon yet
- kelly, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4But as with all Apple products...
it will be much less expensive than equally equipped cars. - noahhoward, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Why? Combining two of the biggest brands on earth sounds like a smart move to me.
- lukeydukey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Unless you can drive the car Bond style with an ipod's Click Wheel.. I'm not interested in this at all.
- MikeWanDo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2iDon't
- schizogony, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2DUi
- darny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1ploy to sell magazines.
- moofer, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6"Volkswagen" is German for "Electrical problem" - the more literal translation is "Burned-out tail light"
- Xanian, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I thought every Volkswagen came with an imac, or at least an apple sticker
- ggeiger, on 10/10/2007, -4/+5that might be true statistically but i drive a vw along with some other family members and i have to say i would never drive an american or asian import of equal cost to my jetta it's the most reliable car i've had by far.
