- andrewcod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8This doesn't really turn Front Row into the Apple TV Interface, in the sense that it doesn't actually change the layout of any buttons etc. All it does is change the images of Pictures, DVD, etc. as seen in an example of the final result:
http://flickr.com/photos/winnopeg/434803221/ - diggnationdevon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The new icons are nice but this skin would be 10x better if it changed the menu layout too.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6i was trying to figure this same thing out yesterday, so either you arent retarded, or i am too.
- jayrobinson83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Someone should work on those surfaced QTZ screensavers! I want those to showcase a pictures folder of my selection!
- winnopeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6TO EVERYONE THAT HAS DOWNLOADED THIS:
There was an image backup missing from the file. You'll want to download http://winnopeg.com/images/PhotosSharedPreview.png if you ever plan to revert to the original FrontRow. - digginghacker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6...i feel absolutely retarded asking this, but
where's the front row app on my hard drive?
edit: just kidding, a shortcut was in the download
didn't see that there... - sn0re, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I saw the AppleTV in person at an Apple store and it looks like crap. The salesman tells me the only "HD" content available right now are movie trailers. So I tried a movie trailer. *STILL* looked like crap because it was compressed so much.
- smoogle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5mirrors of the new version:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1ZA67NBX - dustko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4FrontRow is kinda useless to me until there's a way to use it on my "second monitor" (aka. my plasma) without having to mirror the display (which forces the iMac to a horrible blurry resolution).. I mean come on Apple, come to the party.
- woog315, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Yeah, I don't know what all the hype about the appleTV is. It's a pc with a 1ghz processor and simply can't handle high-bitrate HD content. It's a cool first try at what I'm sure, down the road, will be an awesome product, but right now its an SD geek toy in a world where geeks have already moved on to HD.
- winnopeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nope, I don't think many people will agree with you there.
- Wiesemborski, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The good ol' german rapidshare... it seems to me like we ( = germany) are finally getting revenge for WW2 - first inventing MP3 and then rapidshare ;).
Thanks for the mirror (thanks also to xxdesmus) and the subtle hint on winnopegs site ;). - knuckles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I would rather see someone slap a FrontRow or AppleTV style interface onto VLC. Don't know about anyone else, but I'm using a MacMini to drive all my videos and music to my entertainment system using VLC. Would be damn sweet if I could control the entire experience from VLC using a Frontrow UI with the remote (tip, VLC PLAYS DVD's).
- winnopeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The one that there's a shortcut to. Look for the folder with the black arrow on it in the Step One folder...
- xxdesmus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Another mirror.

Apparently Apple sent this guy a C&D already ...*****. - winnopeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What I found as far as the progress bar is concerned: http://grapefruit.blueorbs.com/share/grayprogress_leftcap_offc32ea.zip
After mounting the image I just did a spotlight search of .png and it came up with a lot of results - a few apple logos, an apple tv icon, other icons and more. - spiderroll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually, what I was looking for was the Front Row (on a regular Tiger installation) progress bar so I know which files to replace, not where to find the nifty ATV ones... but thanks for the help.
- spiderroll, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Sorry everyone!
- winnopeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That I'm not sure on, sorry.
- Rice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not quite what I was looking for, but cool nonetheless.
- benwaterworth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2surely that's what the appleTV is for?
- spiderroll, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey, thanks for the submit! If anyone figures out where some of the other resources are kept (i.e. the progress bar) I'd be glad to keep the updates coming.
- winnopeg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can assure you they did. I didn't post the C&D because they made it quite clear that they'll *sue* you if you do, but it was rather demanding and to the point. Typical legal crap.

I like Front Row as it is better to be honest. I downloaded it thinking it was just like the AppleTV... lame. - gjunkie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3This is kinda lame...
- thewhiterabbit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I have about 25 resources folder, which one do I put this in?
- dgblackout, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2that really didn't do anything all you did was change a few .png files.
- anonymousguy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Does anybody else think the iTV icons are fairly unattractive compared to their Front Row counterparts? The new icons don't seem to match the quality of Apple's previous efforts.
- Hilton, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Nice work, just saved some people $299, because Apple TV Available in US:
