The iphone is the connected wirless model the ipod is the dumb music storage device. also even thought the iphone has wifi and bluetooth you still need to plug it in to sync.

1. New iPod Nanos (much like the leaked spy shots)
2. New iPod Videos (like iPhone with touch screen)
3. Updated iPod Shuffle
4. Thinner Laptops
5. Beatles on iTunes

- wizard13335, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11The advantage to touch screens (which I think you didn't realize in your comment) is that the developer can put a button anywhere on the screen, and make it have any text on it, whereas real buttons have to be in fixed positions and have fixed text.

The rumor sites promise an incredible new iPod, loaded with features that would make even apple-haters drool (touch screen, WiFi, coverflow, fancy interface, etc.). Then the next day, a new iPod comes out. It's very nice and a substantial improvement over the last iPod, but since everybody was so amped up for a supermegatouchscreencoverlowomgomg!!!!1111!!ONE!!!! iPod, they are completely let down by the new product and think it sucks because the rumor sites led them to expecting something better, so...
take these rumor sites with a grain of salt.
