- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+30I would be happy if they would work on my Shuffle!
- atdigg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Pong?
(good game to play with the wheel) - xcheats, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Do people have time to play Game Boys? I would love to play a decent game on my iPod when I'm sitting on a plane or just sitting listening to music.
- Feanor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Pong would be good, but they should add it as a default game.
- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8PONG might be little TOO simple for people to wanna shell out 5 bones......
- UncommonSense, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5For five bucks, you should at least be able to play against Andy Roddick.
- mecole21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5how bout every game made for a graphing calculator?
- fallenone05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7good thing you don't work for apple, that is a very retarded idea
- rickcarson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Public. Motherf***ing. Transport.
There's motherf***ing iPods on this motherf***ing train! :D - xNaquada, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Its called Bust a Move
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Doom!
- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would totally pay $5 for the O.G. Marble Madness on my iPod!
- KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Puzzle Bobble? WTF I thought that was called Snood...probably just a variant tho.
- kolop1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3 I dont think Marble Madness would work very well with the touch wheel.
- bouche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They forgot to mention TRON!
- MrZop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3heh, that "It Has A WHEEL for Gods Sake" line made me LOL.
- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Yeah, but think about all those times you were just sitting there with nothing to do and had your iPod with you and didn't want to play another "exciting" round of solitaire or parachute....thats where you tiny $5 investment comes into play.
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes it does..as well as Texas Hold'em and Tetris.
Pac-Man is not that great though..the control schema does not work so well, especially in the faster levels. I also experience some short freezes, not very long (less then a tenth of a second I think), but still enough to mess up the game sometimes.
Vortex OTOH is just plain boring. - Jaryd2006, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What about classic snake? From the top down perspective? That was the ultimate game to waste 5 minutes on. And now no one ever remembers it. ='(
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why're driving games number 10, should be up there, at least 3rd. Also I thought of a game they forgot about, Stun Runner. You could climb up the walls of the tubes in that game too.
- mkoby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dude, Bubble Madness (what they call Bubble Puzzle) FTW!!! I'd so buy that if they released it.
- Protoss, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Just FYI, Zuma works wonderfully on the iPod.
- cmiller1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Glider Pro, 'nuff said
- waynechng, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Glider ... I want Glider ...
- awhite2600, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5You can play Doom on both the Nano and the Video iPod with the Rockbox firmware. I think it is also available with iPod Linux.
- cmiller1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree, see my post below
- umdigger, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Puzzle/Bubble Bobble are from back in the day, Snood is just a modern version of it.
- adinb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Discs of Tron and Lightcycles (Top Down view)....
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In a perfect world I would like to have both Sonic and Super Mario World...
- chix0r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I must say...I don't play it often but Tetris is just enough for me. I wouldn't be shelling out money to get a bunch of games, I got an iPod to listen to music, the games are just an added bonus, so to have one on there is good enough, as is the 5 dollars I paid for it.
- zlyoga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1seconded
- jk_baller23, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I would so buy Galaga....I love that game. Seems pretty easy to implement also. Left/Right/Up/Down and the center button to shoot. Maybe holding 2 buttons (left/right/menu and center) could exit the game.
- SwankRock3000, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Oh my.
I would be ALL OVER Puzzle Bobble if they released it.
I somehow didn't even think of it, but it's completely ideal. Scroll wheel to aim, middle button to fire.
perfect. - solarix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Not to be nit picky, but its called Puzzle Bobble (aka Bust-a-move)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1MAME.
Won't happen. ever. It would introduce a level of freedom to Apple's DRM hell that would be totally unacceptable. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1People can probably hack it to include MAME. :)
- wicketr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nibbles!
- walkingman1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pocket Gamer has a dedicated iPod section added now. Who knows, maybe some of these games will be reviewed there someday? (Tempest please!)
http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/latest.asp?sec=6 - wicketr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They need to add golf. That would be fairly easy with the scroll wheel acting as the swing of the club.
....and yes i know they have "Mini Golf" but that is putt putt. I want something along the lines of Mario Golf on the Nintendo. - gagravaar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A decent SNES or Gensis emulator for the iPod would be nice, and then there would be an instant (albeit illegal) library of games.
- Dogmatic31, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Puzzle Bobble, Bubble Bobble, Bust-a-Move, Snood I don't care what you want to call it; I want it!
- DoctorNo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Torus Trooper, featured in the article under the Tempest-like game is a blast; its a freeware project from some guy in Japan, there is a Mac and Linux version too, very fun on "extreme" mode and very good to look at.
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/tt_e.html - marioluigi123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah for iPod Linux already doing this!
- GuzenRadioJapan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yars' Revenge
In a distant galaxy the civilization known as the Yars were attacked by the fierce Qotiles. Though badly damaged, the Yars' fought back using their mechanical ships that look like giant metal insects. The Qotiles have many laser cannons shielded behind celluliod barriers which are capable of destroying the Yars. It's up to you to control your Yar ships and dig your way through the shields and fire your powerful Zorlon Cannon into the Qotiles. The enemy is relentless; there are thousands of laser cannons surrounding the people of Yar, each one is capable of firing deadly energy swirls at the Yars. They are also protected with a destroyer missile that will constantly track you down and detonate your Yar ship. It's up to you to save the Yars, good luck! - thatgirlismine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://sloppydisk.com/pictures/rotrix/rotrix.jpg
- Mikecol, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Some of the current games are third party. EA made Tetris and Mahjong.
- igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Puzzle Bobble is the original (as umdigger said)
snood and frozen bubble (both of which i have played) are variants...
i wish they would make the original puzzle bobble for the mac (and teh iPod :D)
btw: there was a version of puzzle bobble for lik ethe dreamcast or sega saturn. it was called Bust-a-Move 4. It owned - vondur, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9I would be happy if they would work on my Nano.
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Metal Slug would be great, although I reckon it's too much for the processor
- karmonyk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Bubble Bobble and Puzzle Bobble feature the same characters but are entirely different games.
