- insomniac8400, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Those are web pages not applications. I think the OP is confused.
- unloud, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11Lets put "applications" in quotes please. These are far from fully-fledged apps since Apple isn't allowing that option.
- rushiku, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8iYawn in your general direction
- darwin81, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7A ***** recipe site‽ WTF‽ Screw the iPhone
- yikiad, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Wow! What an *****!!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I heard a conversation today, it went "Iphone iphone iphone, iphone iphone." "IPHONE, iphone iphone iphone iphone." Best conversation I've ever heard.
- RidesAPaleHorse, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I draw the line at a program running on the phone that does not require web access. A "web-app" is a website. an application resides locally.
- SoxFanNH, on 10/11/2007, -4/+8Agreed, this crap is clogging up Digg...
- shakdang, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5these are applications? do we have some new fad or something going on these days? these are just small-screen friendly webpages .... and you really don't need $600 toy to make these work .. I just tested these on my iPaq and they work just fine ... but I found them pretty basic.
- darwin81, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Umm, I don't think that counts
- macaca, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4If you don't buy iphone, you just saved yourself from commitment of $3000.00.
- kenvsryu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3#11 Phone.
- mandarin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Somehow I dont see the reason why I should pay 499$ for those....
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Some of them make you spoof as a iPhone to run them, otherwise they wont work.. So there!
- kenvsryu, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3Ron Paul has selected the iPhone as his running mate.
- archer75, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I need an app that let's me read my ebooks in a variety of formats.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I like the "‽", but how is it typed? Efficient.
- mostman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1So you have used one then?
- mrBitch, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@capecodcarl :
" Hopefully the iPhone is just the first device in a line of PDA/tablets to come. If you want to claim that we can't have third-party OS X apps on the iPhone because of AT&T security then fine, make an iPad or something that is identical to the iPhone except minus the cell phone functionality ... "
- an OSX based PDA called an " iPAD " ... now that would be very cool ... - dmax801, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Apple is about to release it in South America, but it's rebranded as the iYiYi Phone
- JEmerson, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I was expecting to have to spoof the user agent, but for whatever reason they all loaded up perfectly fine in minimo 0.2 on my axim.
- johnpaul191, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1actually it sounds like standalone apps will be added later.....
- ericdigg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2iPhone is cool and designing useful websites for it is great. More than that, I think developers are finally focus on redesigning content to better suit smaller screen devices. However, I don't like the fact that these iPhone websites only runs on safari (maybe some on firefox). To me, this is yet another way for Apple to skew the web standards and making public contents proprietary, which is something Microsoft often does (like how they screw the java standards). Web developers should still focus on conforming to common web standards and make "iphone only websites" also available to other smartphone browsers, such as treo or symbian. Please keep the web open.
- Phoenixfury, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Consequently some of these apps may work on other devices. I can verify that Go Movies does indeed work with the Nintendo DS (Opera) browser. It works perfect just so as long as you set it to render in SSR mode. :)
- anteyekon4myst, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2No self-desctruct app?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Wow... With list of applications, I wonder why zombo.com is not listed?
- thewump, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1listingly.com
- cmburns69, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Not to nitpick or anything, but where do you draw the line? After all, you have to go through the OS to get to the actual hardware. And even when you get to the hardware, the CPU is doing all sorts of modifications and optimizations on it's instructions... Isn't this just adding another abstraction layer?
- sofia69, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0OK, but how does one particular application integrated with iPhone. Is Apple system ready on which one can be integrated and which can't.
- capecodcarl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Hopefully the iPhone is just the first device in a line of PDA/tablets to come. If you want to claim that we can't have third-party OS X apps on the iPhone because of AT&T security then fine, make an iPad or something that is identical to the iPhone except minus the cell phone functionality but with third party app support. While they're at it, throw in a removable battery, flash card slot, etc.

I hope there is weed somewhere in the shopping options.
- SoxFanNH, on 10/11/2007, -6/+5Just make it open to any apps, what a waste of money for a overpriced shiny toy. It doesn't even come close to being worth that much money.
- rwallen, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2Is that a pizza bites recipe in the cookbook app? "Microwave for 30 seconds. Flip over and microwave for 20 seconds. Let cool."
- TerraFire99, on 10/11/2007, -10/+6iPhone. buried.
- Interestingness, on 10/11/2007, -12/+1Yeah, but it seems a bit premature, there are so many more apps to come! http://ThunkDifferent.com
- peconi, on 10/11/2007, -21/+2This is really nice list of apps!!! - http://www.peconihosting.com
