- beerbarron, on 02/04/2008, -0/+3I wish it were slower! But nice :) I wonder if I could get a SSD in there.
- maxmilion, on 02/04/2008, -1/+2I agree that it's doable, but it wasn't built for speed it was built for comfort :-) show me Your video posted on TUAW.COM and then i will digg U ;-)
- freediverx, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1Awesome time lapse video. Definitely a DIY-able job. Now I'm waiting for that new *7200 RPM* 320 GB drive from Hitachi to become available for purchase... Faster and lower power consumption - can't beat that...
- o0mirage0o, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1Will a higher RPM make the Macbook Pro hotter?
- wflan, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1higher power consumption will but higher rpm won't necessarily. The two often go together but it's the watts not the revolutions that matter for heat (and battery life).
- maxmilion, on 02/04/2008, -2/+2Hi, slower would be longer and believe me - watching fighting with screws for 40min isn't any fun at all :-)
if SSD has the same size and same holes span as 2.5 SATA drive that should be no problem (which is kind of logical for replacement possibilities) but the price/storage ratio still hurts ;-) - adm58, on 02/04/2008, -1/+1Maybe you misunderstood. I typically don't record myself making pedestrian laptop repairs for the same reason I don't record myself making Easy Mac.
- gwsingo, on 08/29/2008, -0/+0320GB?? I put a 400GB in my MacBook Pro. Yes...love the extra space!!
- jd051572, on 02/05/2008, -1/+0Wow, dude. Not right. Go do something special, don't tell us about it, and don't give people a hard time for challenging themselves.
Pretty unreal. People don't think mean people are cool. People respect gentleness. - adm58, on 02/04/2008, -6/+1Are you serious? That's a 15-20 minute job you can do by memory after the first try. Show me a video of replacing the HD in a clamshell iBook and maybe I'll be impressed. Buried as lame.
