- chrisgeleven, on 10/12/2007, -10/+64The "Better Results" ad is the best one yet.
- Z_Man, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38thanks, I feel stupid now.

- subzeroash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+32Yes, that is Vicoria's Secret supermodel Gisele Bundchen in the "Better Results" ad...
http://km02.com/gbundchen/lingerie/lingerie1.htm - wphj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27or click the sizes on the bottom...
- skyhighrockets, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I still think she is saying "mchumvee" not "mac home movie"...
- superstewy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+32And these commercials aren't aimed at professionals. They are aimed at people like my parents who don't know crap about computers, but MAY have a chance of making their own video using iMovie. On a PC? No chance.
- kaimoku, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23While I do think these ads are getting old... the Better Results one is pretty funny. I'd say it's the best not including the originals (the first four that came out.)
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17vh1 = PC
wphj = Mac - ShiverMeBoner, on 10/12/2007, -6/+20Macs ARE PCs in the sense that I can Windows and Linux. But Macs also run OSX.
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14"Just let me lie here and depreciate!"
I nominate this for quote of the year! That was AWESOME! - aristotle0dude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Sorry but you cannot use the old "It's FUD" trick around here. Most of us mac users are dual platform and switchers. We know what both platforms are capable of. While you might be able to produce home movies just fine on the PC, you will either end up with mediocre results from home movie software you have to buy separately or you spend a lot more time and money using a higher end pro-sumer suite to create something comparable to what iLife will give you.
iLife has the following advantages:
- It's bundled with every new mac with affordable upgrades.
- It is easy to use while providing high quality results.
- The built-in sound effects and themes are top notch.
- All iLife apps are tightly integrated (which also lend to ease of use).
Nobody is doubting that a windows PC is capable, it is just a question of how much time, money and learning curve are required to get similar results. - Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13isn't that giselle?
- Z_Man, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Here's a thought, since you hate Apple so much why dont you remove Apple from your displayed digg categories so you dont have to post such dumbass comments.
- t3hCyborg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11@Macbookpromat
Thanks for giving us the direct link to your photobucket album. Might not want to do that next time >.<
I give you and your comment a THUMBS UP!! using your own picture.

I'm pretty much tired of these ads, why? PCs are capable of just about everything a Mac can do and in the hands of professionals, can do the same stuff. Some people like a specific OS over another, leave it at that. As a gamer i enjoy windows and photoshop fun, for everything else theres Ubuntu.
- manoftheisland, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16maybe you are a retard b/c you are they only one that doesnt have them working....
(or maybe you are running IE lol)
funniest line "just let me lie here and depreciate" - dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11"Counselor" actually made me laugh out loud. Kudos on another round of good commercials.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11an average person could never run os x on a pc. key word: average.
why wouldn't you want mac hardware anyway? it's not that expensive, and it's so slick. I think it's even better than the OS.
Not saying it doesn't have its own downsides. - diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9to be honest, I'd be more interested in seeing the Mac home movie :P
- Z_Man, on 10/12/2007, -6/+14I wish they had an archive of everyone every made... or do they?
- Flump5000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10lets see your home movie, pc
- ShiverMeBoner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8didn't get to edit the above comment on time. I meant to say "can use Windows and Linux" :)
- SuperSunny, on 10/12/2007, -9/+16The ads are for comedy. Stop taking them so seriously. Why the hell would Apple cross-dress a guy for an ad then?
We all know PC's can do what Mac's can do. They can run OSx86 too :P - inkswamp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Where is 3) make Ubuntu *work* like OS X.
Forgot that part. Oh maybe that's because it would take about 3-20 steps, not one. See, some of make enough money to where our time is worth more than that. We want something that works out of the box and are willing to pay for that.
Not having to waste your valuable time installing extra libraries to do basic things like play mp3s: priceless. - salazr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11better results is hilarious
- Hayes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I'm glad Apple finally moved away from the "we can makes teh pretti pictures!" and pointed out Macs can be used for work, too, in the last one.
- lordthor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9self-pity isn't new, least not to the internet.
- jbcghia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8yeah sheep because they don't use the marketshare leader for their personal computing needs - your logic is flawless.
- fuzzybunny1701, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12"Yeah I do work stuff, I've run Microsoft Office for years"
"Well what about AutoCad?"
Yes, you can run AutoCad or any other Windows program using Boot Camp or Parallels.
"yeah, autocad, or solidworks, pro/engineer, you know, the top drafting/design programs on the market today, you run those right?"
Yes.
"Well what about Automation Programs, like RSView or RSLogix?"
If they run on Windows, yes.
"It's okay Mac, one day you will break free and be able to do stuff for professional people like engineers, accountants and the like instead of just pencil-pushing data-entry clerks."
Macs can do this now. I suggest you catch up on current events.
With a Mac you have the best of both worlds. Use Windows for the Windows only programs and a Mac for everything else, especially stuff on the net as Windows continually has net related security problems (viruses, spyware).
For best results don't let Windows connect to the internet.
As a former diehard PC user, I switched to a Mac 8 months ago and now my PC is collecting dust, and has depreciated to negative value, I now have to pay someone to take it away. - MrHen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8@skyshock21
I am a little confused as to why this is Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt...
This is strictly Ad Hominem. It is actually a very clever ad campaign because it furthers the impression that Macs are chic and PCs are old news. Whether that impression is correct or not is a matter of opinion, but people tend to be willing to believe that Apple is cool.
By putting out ads like these Apple is declaring that it is friendly, cool, useful, and ridiculously modest while other computers are stupid, nerdy, old, and mistakenly arrogant.
For the most part, all advertising is a study in logical fallacies. Apple just went balls out in their approach. - vh1`, on 10/12/2007, -10/+15http://movies.apple.com/movies/us/apple/getamac/counselor_480x376.mov

replace the resolutions with these values if you want:
small: 320x256
medium: 480x376
large: 640x496
HD: 848x496 - itistoday, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Uhh... reboot into windows? How 'bout that. There's not a single application that won't run on a modern mac.
- RealityMonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4These are ads -- you know, advertisements? The things that companies use to sell their products? Why are people asking why these Apple ads aren't talking about how many more games are available on the PC? Of course they're playing up their strengths. They're trying to make money here. Stop taking it so damn personally.
- aristotle0dude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@foolfromhell: Do you measure the size of your e-penis with what GFX card you have in your machine?
A macbook pro with the X1600 Mobile is perfectly capable of running the latest and greatest games like F.E.A.R. with effects turns on at a playable framerate. That is good enough for people who play games rather than spending their time masterbating to fps numbers in artificial benchmark tests.
If a game is playable and looks good, then that should be good enough for any gamer FULL STOP. The point of a game is to "play" them.
My MBP gets great performance because I only use it for a few games and not for for general use so I don't have bloated registry or spyware/adware clogging up my machine. I use OS X for everything else. - panique, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5He swings...And it's outta the park ladies and gentlemen.
- jbcghia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Are you ***** kidding me...far too long a comment. Not to mention missing the point completely, but as I don't want to be a prick with a 5 page retort here is the gist. Apple makes ads that target a very thin slice of the public. People who appreciate subtle humor, drink expensive coffee and don't want to ***** around with their computers at all -EVER. Secondly, It is called personification, if a "PC" could talk and have human emotions it would likely feel inadequate next to a sleek and shiny mac. Every PC I have ever owned...even my most recent Vaio desktop replacment was a clunky looking piece of ***** next to a Mac. Your awkward and misguided analysis was a good attempt to bore diggers into submission so I give you props for that, very PC of you.
- pidge, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I like the previous Get a Mac ads. They are really funny. For some reason, I found these ads somewhat annoying. I am not partial as I own both a PC and a Mac.
- ziadoz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5A lot less than 10% I'd bet. Everyone seems to think that 12% laptop market share in America translates globally.
- Antagonist, on 10/12/2007, -16/+19In the hands of professionals. - well that's the point. PCs are great with numbers... Macs are just easier to use. They're not completely insulting PCs, they're just focusing on the Mac's strength, what an Ad should do. Crap, if there were ads for PCs... can you imagine? They'd be laughable.
- noreturn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's surprising you think that we care. Is it any skin off our noses that you work with Windows? My Mac fits perfectly in a Windows world, and the Windows PC's get to take the hit with all the viruses. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
- aristotle0dude, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well PC users have been taking it up the ass for years from Steve Balmer and Bill Gates despite there being other competitors like Linux, BSD and BeOS which offer an alternative.
For some reason, businesses insist on bending over every few of years and buying the next iteration of windows or Office without a second thought of whether they offer something of value. - brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -16/+18"Yeah I do work stuff, I've run Microsoft Office for years"
"Well what about AutoCad?"
"Auto...cad"
"yeah, autocad, or solidworks, pro/engineer, you know, the top drafting/design programs on the market today, you run those right?"
"well...."
"Well what about Automation Programs, like RSView or RSLogix?"
"uhmmm....."
"It's okay Mac, one day you will break free and be able to do stuff for professional people like engineers, accountants and the like instead of just pencil-pushing data-entry clerks." - jbcghia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3or I buy a computer that I don't have to ***** around with at all and it works without *****.
I was once one of those, dude mac sucks its mouse only has one button, two is better than one so that's that. I really enjoyed updating anti virus software everyweek. I miss updating drivers, or searching for a file and having it take ten minutes...oh memories
I haven't run anti virus for two years. Its like ***** without a condom and not getting sick....that my friend is priceless. - jbcghia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3well that and the fact that your 450 dollar laptop is a mismash of suspect quality parts and hardware compatibility issues. A Mac user never worries about hardware compatibility, it just works. For 550 dollars more and considering I use my computer everyday for work I think that ease of use is more than worth it. Coupled with the fact that your 450 dollar ***** will not offer nearly the same feature set as a lowend mac. Sure you can scrape the bottom of the barrel, or you can get a mac and know that it will work and have everything you need out of the box. good luck with your $450 laptop, you'll need it.
- Illuminatus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Check out the expression on the Mac guy's face as PC rolls on the ground in "Self Pity." He's trying really hard not to lose it. Hodgeman is a genius.
- KyleMistry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just love the bickering that these ads bring up.
Come on people, they're just advertisements. They're nothing to fly off your handles about, no matter how shiney and silver or metallic and gray those handles may be. - brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@fuzzybunny1701
So, if I need to use Windows for everything I do throughout the day in the business setting, why bother with a Mac? Why should I waste time rebooting all day? Why use parallels when I can buy a computer with the real thing on it?
The only real reasons to buy a Mac are the pretty case designs and OS X. If 75% of the software you use is Windows-only then it is a waste to buy a Mac. - noreturn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4/stupid
^^Closed that tag for you there, bud.
By the way, it means the Mac doesn't advertise its own existence on the internet, not the firewall. -
