- typo180, on 10/12/2007, -6/+235Meh, Macs are all about creative expression right? It's not damaged, it's just customized.
- bluering, on 10/12/2007, -22/+188Just throw it on Ebay and advertise it as a Macbook Pro personally signed by Mohamed Ali or Michael J Fox.
- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -6/+106quick. Apple+Z to undo!
- rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -6/+89Guys a total idiot. Chicks dig cute shiat like that. you just have to say oh my nephew did that when he came over and I just keep it now as a reminder of him. You will get laid.
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -11/+94eh, speaking from experience, those mac casings clean up ridiculously easy.
- Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -7/+78This picture would be very effective if used in a Trojan ad.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+63One of the comments on the page is "Use condoms". My first thought was "How will condoms remove permanent marker?". Yeah... it took me a minute...
- JAVandiver, on 10/12/2007, -27/+86Who cares. Kids toys always get messed up. That is what an Apple is, right? Huh? Is it there?
- NinjaBoy, on 10/12/2007, -6/+51I see why toddler fighting is getting popular...
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43No, a kid.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -7/+46@ooliquidnightoo
did you notice the huge stain on the left side, for trying to clean off a portion of the permanent marker? - miles01110, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40It's the wrong kind of cleaner, thats why there's a stain. Try isopropyl alcohol or methanol if you can find it.
- paulajohnw, on 10/12/2007, -3/+41My 2 year old used a screwdriver to remove the keys from my company laptop. Good thing it is a lease.
- rudy23, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38of course its the table top. looks antique.
- loomis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38Use Naptha (lighter fluid) on a rag to remove the marker. It won't harm the table or laptop either.
- lazydrumhead, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36thats a pretty nifty design.
they should keep it that way. - FearlessFreep, on 10/12/2007, -5/+32yeah, pretty poor taste. Spanking the kid on the rump is going to cause a lot less physical damage than shaking.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+42Pfff, that's nothing!
Check out what these cuties did: http://www.ondmis.dk/cpg132/displayimage.php?pos=-422 - mutatron, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32I don't get it, it's just a computer. Is it bad to mark on those?
edit: Or were you talking about that excellent table top? - thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26A good, single swat to a diapered bottom with a firm "No!" would be much more effective than shaking.
- robotsongs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2591% Isopropanol alcohol has a lot less ability to permantly leave burn through or damage finish.
Stuff works wonders and cleans up well. And it's super cheap. - thanksgiving, on 10/12/2007, -26/+49SIDS?
- doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25"That's it kid - I'm enroling you in Toddler Fight Club tomorrow!"
Seriously, there is such a concept as "childproofing" your home. This could have been hella worse - imagine the dear tyke pulling on network cord and yanking the whole thing onto the floor, shattering the LCD display.
Dunno much abot kids myself (praise "Bob"), but does he actually look old enough to understand "No" yet? Seems young to me. I blame the parent. - Nobi-Wan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+21Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
- n8r0n, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26What? A Mac?
- queekus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Your kid signed your laptop, its kind of cool!
- mutatron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Oh, if we're going to be serious, yes, a single pop on the rump and a "No!" would be most effective, especially at that age. When my daughter was 18 months old, she went out into the street and when I retrieved her that's what I did. It wasn't a very hard pop, and it was on her diapered bottom, but she cried anyway, probably just at the thought that her daddy would do that to her. And she got the message.
I only ever needed to do that a couple of more times, and then after that the mere hint of a spanking was sufficient. Didn't have to do that very often either.
Disclaimer: your mileage may vary. - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25Hehe, yeah keep telling yourslef thats the reason....
- ArchonSG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17He was lucky.
Imagine if it was a ball point pen and the toddler decided to play "poke the screen". - thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20that pen doesn't write like that
- dgh1973, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19That's not a good reason to shake them, that's a good reason to keep pens and expensive things OUT OF THEIR REACH!!
I have two kids past the toddler stage now... it's a lesson you learn pretty quickly. It's not the kids fault... they're supposed to be playing with their environment at that stage. - lilrabbit129, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Honey, get the receipt, we're taking little freddy back to the store...
- SeanFL, on 10/12/2007, -8/+21spanking and beating are two different things. This child's bum would sure be sore if I was the parent.
- mourningdove, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17My girl did that once. If you catch it right away, fingernail polish remover will do the trick.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14what? couldn't afford the paint?
- Antha, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14@ mourningdove:
I just learned that hand sanitizer, of all things, will remove Sharpie from anything. Hell, it removed screaming read dye from tan carpet. - SlackerCS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13It's staged. He gave the kid a different pen and told him to act like he was doing it again so he could take an omg hilarious pic and share it with all his "friends" on the "internets."
- teresa73521, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17lighten up, it is a joke. it comes from Chris Rock.
"I would never hit a woman in my life....but I’ll shake the ***** out of her." - wafflez, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13that kids a pc fanboy. srsly.
- JonnyTrombone, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Poster should never have children.
- joshuampeterson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Just to keep it simple for everyone who doesn't want to read all of the comments:
Shaking a baby is wrong and potentially fatal, but headline is based on a Chris Rock quote.
Spanking is OK if you are reasonable, the Supreme Court said so.
Photo is not 'shopped,' but is most likely staged (wristpad has had an attempt at cleaning and pen is different).
The computer was cleaned already using rubbing alcohol.
The parenting and various discipline techniques for small children were argued. (IMHO anyone with a kid should know that they will get into SOMETHING no matter how well you 'childproof' your home. It is also impossible to watch them constantly, and something like this could occur in as little as 30 seconds...I know, that picture could have been me, back in the day.)
That about covers it. Read on if you want/have the time...otherwise continue to next story.
P.S. There are some funny comments. - jaycliche, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12You are not going to get off that easily. Come on...what was it you were about to say?
- posergeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Isn't there an easier way to get a black Macbook?
- subdesignclint, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16haha, glad someone dugg this...that's my kid, that's my powerbook..all is well now..but i must say it was a true test in parenthood...i didnt beat him or anything...(thought about it)..i just stood there in shock..he just looked up at me and said "Cheese!"...i had to take a picture.
p.s. we used rubbing alcohol to clean it up. - saska, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10It also pays to be clear about the rules. I've known my best friend since I was 3 and she was 4. The first time we met, we were given a box of crayons and very sternly instructed by her mother not to write on the walls. When her mother came back, we had done a fabulous job of decorating the bedposts, lampshade, and desk in crayon.
And we didn't get in trouble. We did exactly as we were told. - anonatron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Use the whiteboard fix, get a dry-erase marker and draw over top of the lines, then wipe away the dry-erase and the permanent marker should wipe away too!
- glev2005, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13@catfish no its not a "MAC", it is a Mac.. but it does have a MAC.. otherwise it couldnt operate with any layer 2 devices!
- evilesttoast, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Spanking a kid is when they do something they need to learn from. Beating is just randomly beating the crap out of your kid. There's a difference.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I like how that site has a token black baby in with the group.
- Otto, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12You are aware that there's another angle of that image,,right?
