The ultimate iPod anti-theft device -- Hide it in a Zune!

      Almost everyone has an iPod; even people who have very little expendable cash manage to get one somehow. But since far less people have Zunes, it'd only be those with lots of expendable cash that end up picking it up -- so to an intelligent thief, a person with a Zune would make a far better theft target than a person with an iPod, because someone with a Zune probably has other valuables on them -- it's more likely.

I use it mostly for running so I was looking for something small. I ordered a shuffle because it has a built in clip and it is absurdly small. It is hard to believe something so small can hold a gig, get good battery life, AND sound good.

        It is my first apple product...I feel like a blushing virgin awaiting its arrival.

      a few weeks ago, i took my seat in class, and found a white Zune sitting there. I looked around and no one was around it, so i picked it up. Started playin with it, looked at the features, even tried the wireless. I searched for other zunes in proximity, nope, none. Well i took it home with me, used it for the night. It wasnt _horrible_ but it wasnt great at all. lackluster at best. I see the radio feature, im thinkin "cool, get some radio up in here!" turn it on, no stations worked, inside or outside (im in Seattle). Then it kept restarting on me, and the battery was "full". well to cut the story short, the next day, i returned the damned thing to the kid because i really disliked it. then i pulled out my ipod, put in my earbuds, and walked off. i feel sorry for the poor bastard, he even said "oh, you found it? dang man, i though i lost it and was bout to go get an ipod" when i returned it to him. (i knew the kid from years before, and his name was on the zune).

      So, yes, I've used one, and am uninterested and unimpressed by it.

    I don't support microsoft, but I sure am sick of all the senseless bashing. I don't see microsoft fans attacking apple, yet apple takes every opportunity to attack microsoft and their users. Seems pretty unprofessional if you ask me, and that they are opposed to competition.
    Their advertising campaigns are hypocritical too. Browsing their website, nearly every "I'm a mac, I'm a pc" ad was a microsoft bash. Some people use pcs without windows on them, morons. And for people so against microsoft, why do you point out that microsoft office is available in a mac version and that you can run windows on a mac as if it's a benefit; by their argument why would you want to use office or windows?
    Apple and their fans have got to put a sock in it. We get it, you like the products and dislike microsoft - but how about actually wowing us with what features you have to offer rather than childish ridicule of a company that isn't alone in its competition against apple (there are actually other companies that make music players and phones, but we probably won't hear about them over the noise of the apple fans screaming.)

      That's because you're not a Mac user. I can't tell you how many years I heard, "Apple is going out of business." "Why don't you get a real computer?" "Why do you use a MAC if you know about computers?" (Note that for some reason, Windows geeks always CAPS "MAC" like it's an acronym.

      The slams were almost always by people like MCSEs who had their entire identity and professional life tied up in worthless MS certifications and the inherent clunkiness of Windows.

      I'm a Mac user, not a big fan of Apple. I just don't think there's any reason to run down someone else's personal choice. I don't think there's any point in making fun of the Zune either.

        Two of my uncles are big mac fans and keep trying to convert me, but using windows isn't dangerous if you know what you're doing - and linux provides all the benefits of the mac operating system without the apple hardware restrictions.
        Regardless of user arguments I don't see any anti apple/mac advertising on microsofts site, yet with 1 (ONE) click I get

        If you don't see how generalised, arrogant and pretentious that claim is you're probably one of the people that dugg me down. I didn't even attack them except calling them morons for generalising pc users to windows users. Unlike Apple, Microsoft's hardware (and software) is optional when you buy a pc.
        Also, if you disagree with something I've said; please digg me down, but it'd be nice if you gave some explanation. I'm fearing I was dugg down by mindless apple zombies - the kind that submit 3 iPhone stories every few days.

          That's because OS X is an alternative to Windows, not vice-versa. Everyone is familiar with Windows, not everyone is familiar with OS X. It's a common practice with other product types for the underdog to compare their product favorably with the market leader.

You could just snag ones on eBay for less than a dollar. With PMP's, a thief would grab any old PMP. It doesn't matter with the brand. They'll get their hands on anything.

Well, an ipod is really just a knock-off of a mp3 player. There are so much better Mp3 players out there ppl. Archos has one of the best sound qualities. Iriver has some pretty cool mp3 player too. I have to admit though, it just feel good to have an ipod...i bought a 40gb 4th gen. and a 1gb nano...both broke fairly quickly...good job Apple! :P
