We've all seen the Apple Store down before, but when was the last time we saw the ITMS is down? Has it even happened before, that We saw a holding page at the iTunes application, I think no? I still think it's a new app. because new content can & has been added to iTunes without the iTunes app. being blocked. - robertcooper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This looks like they are doing more than just adding movies to the site, I think it's a complete re-brand of iTunes to Showtime, as the name of a new Music, Movie & TV App. Steve had no problem axing the iPod mini & it's "brand equity" at the height of it's success, so I think the M in ITMS is out. It cannot be called the iMovie store, or iTunes store, if it's gonna sell Music, Movies & TV - it just wouldn't sit right.
Yup, I think it's all going Showtime now! I also predict that the new iPod, 6gen, whenever it is released, to be called the iPod Pro. Even for those who didn't expect this before today, why is it surprising now? This means that you can buy the rights to watch a movie for 30 days and then a time sensitive copy protection or encryption will kick in rendering the download useless.
