We don't think it's real, you just didn't tell us anything. Like, for example why it was fake.. you just repeatedly typed fake fake fake fake, except it was in all caps. - birch25, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31@ireland, dude, you got dugg down big time 4 posts in a row. i think you lost this battle...
- Terc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25Ok, I realize this is off topic, and I'm sorry about it, but Ireland has made a perfect example for me. I have a feature request for Digg that I wish would have made it in to v3. There has always been an option to hide comments below a certain number of diggs, but what if there was an option to hide users comments who have maintained an average number of diggs below a certain value. This would mean I'd never have to see little kids and clueless commenters like Ireland's "contributions" any more. It would add a sort of ranking system for the digg community based on the value of your comments. Just an idea, sorry to rant.
Also, perhaps this is fake, but I think we'll see something similar, this takes after the rumors that have been going around. The one thing I didn't see in the vid was the expected higher reliance on spotlight - dmron, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29Tabbed finder??? I dunno.... is that really useful? I love tabbed web browsing but.... when I'm navigating ye olde HD, I rarely need more than one window open.
- heresy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23The Macbook just came out last month. So you are complaining because you bought something and now, 11 MONTHS LATER, something was released that is faster?
HELLO! Wake up and smell technology. - imyke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17i'll digg it simply beacause it looks pretty well done, and someone has put a lot of work in to this. but still.. just a tabbed finder?? as 'dmron' says, is it useful?!
what on earth would we need this for?! plus i feel that if you really did have leopard, you'd have some better functionality to show off than that.. - Pluckie, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21...especially because spotlight has greatly diminished the need for searching your HD in the finder
- blw1138, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18MacBook full of problems? Hardly. People blow the isolated problems out of proportion, merely because it's Apple. My MacBook has been flawless for the month I've had it. I think the reports of problems are greatly exaggerated.

(should be working in a few minutes) - NSResponder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14There are iSight cameras all over the place at Apple. This may well be for real, and the video quality looks to me like someone shot it with an iSight. Note however, that there's nothing really exciting in this movie, which is actually why I think it could be real. Anthing that's worthy of special attention (like being featured in the keynote) isn't going to be in the build train that's generally available within the company until a very short time before the show. That's how it was for all three of the major releases while I was there. Tabs in the finder are a no-brainer, and not particularly interesting.
-jcr - Webteeth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15"Before this goes down can someone make a mirror to the download so everyone can see it."
Here's a mirror of the video on my hosting account: http://www.greaterstuff.com/digg/leopard.mov
I doubt the download will go down, but just in case :) Enjoy. - HobbesDoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16I also think it's fake, not to mention why the guy that filmed this didn't set down the camera instead of "flying" around with it. Quite annoying to watch.
- patrickweber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Yeah, but they still sell the PowerPC machines. Even if they stop selling PowerPC machines before Leopard is released, a lot of pro apps such as Photoshop and the other Adobe apps haven't been ported over to Intel and by the looks of it wont for a while.
I think it makes sense to have the next version be universal. - davidirock, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12This video purposely looks lame. I think the person who made this deliberately make it such low quality. I honestly think someone who has access to 10.5 preview release would have held a camera steadier then they did. This was very smart of them since the video is such low quality I can't tell you if it is real or not.
- nightstriker424, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12notice there testing it on a 1.8 G5 and not an intel
- meekar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7maybe that person were looking for the publicity and hype, but didn't exactly want to spoil anything too important
- corsairstw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Sure does look convincing and something like that would be pretty hard to fake...
- meekar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I use multiple finder windows a lot when working on widgets or web designing, and this would help immensely
- Lounger540, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Previous screen shots were declared a hoax by the blogger who made them.
- NSResponder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The coolest features of any new release are always kept under very tight wraps until it's time to make the WWDC build.
-jcr - metsfan489, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Well the author of the pics showed the PSD that he used to make it. they were fake.
- Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6At this point I dont know what to expect, a followup video on how it was faked perhaps?
I'll just wait for Jobs' keynote, I'll digg this just because it looks so well done. - 4tygames, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7It is a box.net account, it won't go down.
- Mediaright, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm not gonna say firmly real, yet. But I'm fairly convinced so far:
1. The finder is not captivate or a powerpoint. It's fluid motion. It's easy to fake os x skins, and there are other finder apps that do tabbed browsing, but nothing is as simple as the os x finder. This is probably going to be a feature anyway, whether these are real or not. It's classic Apple cross-pollination from other apps (safari).
2. A good friend brought up that the about window fades in. This is probably using the Quartz Extreme 2D feature. This is a feature for accelerated graphics that was in Tiger, but off by default because it wasn't ready for primtime. Point for validity.
3. Look at the blog: no profile, no explanation, suggestive name, and this was the first post. This guy is looking for publicity. Something tells me he has plenty more in the can. We'll see in the next few days. - htns, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@Terc

So you mean anybody that's a conservative (or even center) in a political debate will have all of their comments censored? - Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5So you dont expect them to allow PPC users to upgrade as well?
c'mon now - gharding, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Apple specifically said that Leopard would run on PPC. I think PPC is SOL for the OSX after Leopard, though. Yay for acronyms!
- flizzoyd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Well if it is fake, they took the time to update the look of Finder as well. If you'll notice, it has the updated look that iTunes 6, and iLife 06 have where they're moving away from the brushed metal look and going for a rounded grey look. There's also no metal border on the left and right sides.
- gavroche, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@ Xsecrets
The apple wired mouse have 2 buttons its only the wire-less mouse that have 1 button. And in that case, just get another mouse. - thatsiebguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4REAL
- Mediaright, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4because so many people still have PPC. Macintels are only six months old, you know. Apple has already confirmed that Leopard will run on both.
- Tom_Riddle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4well if yer transferring files from one spot to the next
I could see where it could come in handy.
i know I can have like six windows open at one time in different spots on my HD - NSResponder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Dude, weren't you paying attention? Those images were declared fake by the guy who posted them on his blog. Didn't anyone take you up on your bet?
-jcr - rauz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4OS9 had tabbed folders? You must means an extension because I've been using the OS since 6.0.7 and never seen it in a default build.
- OutlawSamurai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Why not? It's still part of the supported platform base.. and will be for quite some time.
- Wonotch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Looprumors is more unreliable than a sloth in a drag race.
- jonshipman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Tiger still works on G3's
- coldfusion1970, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3He means "pop-up" folders which "docked" to the bottom of the screen.
They looked like "tabs" sticking up from the bottom of the screen. - Powerdrift, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually its 4 buttons for the wired.
- cg0def, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3seriously that camera has NO stabilizer whatsoever? Anyway the tabbed file browsing is nice although I'd like to see and option "Open in a new window" as well as open in a new tab
- borb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yes the video is short and crappy. But the finder is definitely in the style that Apple is heading with their apps and most likely their OS. and while to some tabbed finder windows may seem useless. It totally seems like something apple would do. Being an avid mac user I hope this is legit. I like the new look.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Early trials probably ARE on intel. You think they only have a couple test machines? There are probably hundreds and hundreds of testbeds. Why WOULDN'T they want to test on a g5?
The video probably IS fake, but the fact that it's running on a g5 has NOTHING to do with it since Leopard is universal and can run on both architectures. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"and I suspect they were done by the same guy."
That guy did PHOTOSHOP mockups and is not a programmer, also he has already admitted to 'just messing around' and wasn't sure if anyone would believe him and straight out said they were fakes.
While I don't really believe this video (so close up and shaky? why not just use a video capturing program? only the finder? why not like 10 times as long?) it is definitely not the same guy. - Tom_Riddle, on 10/12/2007, -9/+12@ Xsecrets
MIGHTY MOUSE. *****.
And come on. its a ***** mouse. get another one then! they r like $5. STFU.and GTFO - marksy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i think it would be pretty sweet - i normally have a few finder windows open and becomes a bit of a pain going through them all.. same idea as tabs in browsers.. people first asked why, then realised they were actually really useful. if it is a fake, its a pretty good job.
i hope Apple give the option to have tabs in Finder.. - Mediaright, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Define supposed to be...please. I haven't seen any evidence of this.
- digga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's the best you can come up with? 10.5 will be universal.... everyone knows that!
- astrosmash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Whether it's fake or not is beside the point. The point is that the clowns making these supposed Leopard screenshots and videos have absolutely no imagination. Finder with iTunes-like window dressing. Give me a ***** break. Talk about plucking the lowest fruit on the tree.
As far as faked/leaked screenshots go, this one sucks big time. - Terc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Ok, I realize this is off topic, and I'm sorry about it, but Ireland has made a perfect example for me.
