Controls are about the same as any other emulator on the iPhone...very doable for something like an RPG, but terrible for anything that requires precision because you have no tactile feedback.

DS games are also less processor intensive, so it might be more realistic to develop a DS emulator with satisfactory frame rates than a PSX emulator. DS games are already well-suited for a portable device (screen size, gameplay, etc.), and i think more of them rely on innovative gameplay & user interface over graphical prowess.

Yes I agree emulation is cool but these devices just don't have the necessary inputs to work properly they really need to sit down and figure out some cool new games that work with the touch screen.

In the article, the video of Hot Shot Golf was barely running at playable speed, yet more complex and graphically intensive games like FFVII/VIII is playing "well"? Additionally, if you want to play PSX games on a portable system, just get a PSP, which runs PSX games perfectly.

Most games all the way up to the PS1/N64 generation run at near full- to full speed on it, although its N64 emulator could still use a lot of optimizations. Still WAY faster than the iPhone, though.
