- Azerael, on 07/04/2008, -2/+169Nope, definitely seen cooler iPhone timelines today.
- 2Deluxe, on 07/04/2008, -3/+109OMG. This does not even COMPARE to the iPhone timeline from yesterday, OR the one from the day before that!
- vudicarus, on 07/04/2008, -3/+86I guess because Cisco held the US trademark on the name since 2000 (as indicted in the timeline).
- KaiUno, on 07/04/2008, -2/+80It was the ONLY iphone timeline I've seen since I heard of the bloody thing and I don't intend to watch another. What's so cool about this then? I don't get it. Is it because it's horizontal?
- Brotodeau, on 07/04/2008, -12/+77...and in 2241, at WWDC, Steve Jobs (yes, he's still alive) announces the long awaited copy/paste feature... yet, still no sign of MMS...
/crosses fingers for 2242! - NathanCH, on 07/04/2008, -3/+52Wasn't the most interesting time line that I've ever seen. But it was very Apple-like
- Denneval, on 07/04/2008, -8/+40***** MMS and those god awful 'Happy Birthday' message templates. I hope that Apple NEVER authorizes something of the like.
- digitaldivinci, on 07/03/2008, -17/+48Why would an American Based company look to trademark a name overseas first?
- tian2992, on 07/04/2008, -10/+40Lame Title, Great Content, If it was not for the Recommendation System I would have passed away this image. Thanks Recommendation System!
- ERTW2011, on 07/04/2008, -3/+31they trade marked it over seas first because Apple was trying to keep the iPhone rumors in North America low. If they trademarked it in the states it would be a dead give away they were making it. When they did trademark the name they used Ocean Telecom to do it for the same reason.
- haentz, on 07/04/2008, -1/+20Because it was already trademarked in the US by Cisco...
- zaqarov, on 07/04/2008, -0/+16New and fancy technology, MMS?
L-O-L.
How is sending downsized images over a GPRS network new? - consie, on 07/04/2008, -1/+16Yeah, this is definitely around the 3rd or 4th coolest mark.
- WickEd101, on 07/04/2008, -1/+15I love how Cisco and Apple own and "share" the iPhone name, but Google 'iPhone' and good luck finding Cisco in the first 60,000 pages of results.
- StrawberryFrog, on 07/04/2008, -1/+14Yeah, because we see so many iPhone timelines every day.
- spatd, on 07/04/2008, -0/+11I bet there's gonna be one new verson of the iPhone every year, like it happened with the iPod.
- cslawren, on 07/04/2008, -0/+10If i have my way, it will be the only iphone timeline i see today, if ever.
- subliminalurge, on 07/04/2008, -1/+11Coolest I'll see today, and simultaneously the lamest I'll see today. Since I can say with a high degree of certainty that it's the only timeline I'll see today.
Seriously, I don't see what was so cool, or even interesting about it. Looked like a run-of-the-mill timeline to me.
Yawn.... - arduenn, on 07/04/2008, -0/+9Lame title indeed. It implies that timelines are cool in general, that this is the coolest of the vast number of iPhone timelines that are out there on the internets and that I watch these timelines on a daily basis.
Interesting at most. - TheMidnight, on 07/04/2008, -2/+111. iTrademark
2. i???
3. iProfit - lartones, on 07/04/2008, -1/+9It forgot to mention "July 11th,2008, Rogers as well as other wireless communications providers completely ***** people in the ass for plans."
- celkin, on 07/04/2008, -1/+9WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME??
- estate, on 07/04/2008, -2/+9Timelines are cool? Interesting, yes, but not cool.
- Firehed, on 07/04/2008, -0/+7I can't speak to stupid happy birthday messages, but ***** MMS for charging half a buck to get an email with a crappy picture attachment. Especially when you already have unlimited bandwidth for real email in your data plan.
- browny1978, on 07/04/2008, -2/+8WHAT ABOUT THE IPHONE FIRMWARE HACKED TIMELINE??
- Murdats, on 07/04/2008, -1/+7well I can say this was informative, apparently I have been sick of the iphone for over 2 years.
- LeeSoong, on 07/04/2008, -5/+11It's missing the entry for July 1st:
Every other cell phone company on the planet
releases a multifunction touch screen cell phone,
with a pop out keyboard, 3G, bluetooth, removeable flash storage, 5 megapixel full video cameras, and full MP3 player functionality + FM radio too... - comradeTJH, on 07/04/2008, -0/+6But it was for sure the best you saw today, wasn't it ;-)
- CommissarVlad, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5D-Day? Come on...
- xrispy, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5Programs can't be written for iPhone? Evidence seems contrary.
- MarrowMan, on 07/04/2008, -2/+7wheres the bit in the timeline where one of those guys buys a brand new one, then films himself ***** destroying it?
- frotastic, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5just wait, tomorrows time line will be vertical! prepare to be amazed
- vudicarus, on 07/04/2008, -1/+5It's interesting that the iPhone moniker goes all the way back to Oct 2002, just one year after the iPod's first release.
And I believe Jobs said during the iPhone's outing that they had been working on the phone for 2 years. That would put the start at the beginning of 2005, even as they were working on the ROKR. - york2600, on 07/04/2008, -1/+5You forgot crappy user interface and the size of small laptop on that list
- BrendanSheehan, on 07/04/2008, -0/+4Copy & paste yes, MMS.. could not care less.
- warsongs7, on 07/04/2008, -1/+4And this timeline is neither interesting nor cool..
- ryleyleckie, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3you need help.
- DM01, on 07/04/2008, -2/+5The only iPhone timeline I'll see today.
- shank2001, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3I have looked at what others are selling now, and while you can match, feature for feature, with the iPhone, and in some cases the iPhone is lacking a few features, the iPhone is still the best phone on the market, right now. By far. Why? No one has the interface down as solid as Apple. Just use an iPhone, iPod Touch for a day, and then go back to whatever device you care to name. None of them come close to the iPhone for usability.
I don't even have an iPhone yet, but I have an iTouch, I do so much internet usage on the thing it is amazing. And when I get the iPhone 3G, I won't need a laptop anymore for everyday tasks. The iPhone is truly the one mobile device most people will need in their lives.
Who cares if the camera is average for a cell phone. If you are using your phone to take photos of anything important, you really need to get your head examined. Get a real camera for that. Cameras on cellphones will NEVER replace a real camera.
I don't want a slide out keyboard, I can type faster on my iTouch than on my smart-phone with its chicklet keys, why? Because I have learned to trust the error correction. It really is amazing how fast I can type, do I make mistakes? Yes, but 99% of the time it corrects them for me in the background without requiring any input from me at all. - coldfusion1970, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3I guess its proof that SJ plays a long game.
He knows what we want years before we do. - vw2005, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3Forgot to include that 'iPhone' was already copyrighted in Canada by a local telecom company providing VOIP services. Much like Cisco, this company (Comwave) sued Apple Canada for copyright infringement.
I'm guessing a settlement was reached because it's coming to Canada in the next couple of weeks... - locodude, on 07/04/2008, -2/+5OK, so it's a timeline. But what's so friggin' cool about it? I didn't even think it was particularly shiny.
- apexified, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3it seems like putting an i in front of any word should not fall under copyright law. wouldn't that be trademark?
- HonoredMule, on 07/04/2008, -1/+4Coolest by default, timeliniest by timeliney qualities.
- MillurTime, on 07/04/2008, -2/+5Only iPhone timeline I will see today.
- KMartSheriff, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2Perpendicular!
- machocheese34, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2it wins by default
- ryleyleckie, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2let's argue alot on digg..
- snackalacka, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2If I were going to try and bait Digg... I would do this.
