- DaftMonk, on 08/28/2008, -0/+44If iTunes could actually improve on the likes of Last.fm, make its memory footprint smaller, and include some other interesting features as well... I would praise it to high heaven.
- OathOfFealty, on 08/28/2008, -3/+29"Welcome to the Social" - isn't that the Zune's catchphrase?
- robbh66, on 08/28/2008, -10/+33Please, for the love of god, do NOT add social aspects to iTunes.
Digg did, and look how this ***** turned out... - PlugMyDuck, on 08/28/2008, -1/+22What's the matter? You don't want Radiohead, Coldplay, and Obama speeches to the the only thing listed on iTunes?
- jaybol, on 08/28/2008, -1/+18i want people to be able to vote on what song i have to hear each day so that i can complain about it
- ronaldmonster, on 08/28/2008, -5/+17So it's basically gonna rip off features from the Zune software? Then get praise for it while Microsoft gets bashed for it as another "Me too" idea.
- dullnation, on 08/28/2008, -0/+12It's been a "a little rough aound the edges" for a long time now.
- totorototoro, on 08/28/2008, -1/+12"Yes, Ted, that was the joke"
- StacyWebb, on 08/28/2008, -0/+9I would prefer to see it become more of a modular application, allow the end user to remove unwanted features or enable desired ones.
Plus a native Linux version would be nice. - xsecretfiles, on 08/28/2008, -1/+10Follow me. Twitter me
rape me - plarp, on 08/28/2008, -2/+10itunes needs better functionality with removable hard drives.. well it needs the functionality.. if i have a removable drive plugged in then show me it's mp3's.. if it's not plugged.. don't show me.. simple.. intuitive.. lovely.. now make it work.. love yah apple! k thanx..
- anaesthetica, on 08/28/2008, -0/+7Not just MrBabyMan, but MrBabyMan submitting an editorial written by MSaleem (go check the byline at the end of the article)!
They're teaming up against us! - tabledesk, on 08/28/2008, -0/+6Right so let us know when it's ready.
- PlugMyDuck, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5That's a lot of ifs there my friend.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -1/+6Not a huge iTunes fan, but I do like the idea of a recommendation engine... Pandora is very useful in that respect, it would be nice though to have it integrated into your *own* music player (ie, iTunes), so it makes recommendations based off *your* music.
- Diggnabbit, on 08/28/2008, -1/+6Yeah, just like all of the other versions of iTunes!
Whatever. - Stirk, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5Actually, you can click on a song, hold the shift key, click on a different song, and it will highlight everything between your two selections. Works outside of iTunes, too (It's a system-wide feature) on both Mac OS X and Windows
- kipmartin, on 08/28/2008, -1/+6no. nothing works with linux except for a few printer drivers, pong, and parts of OpenOffice.
- Cittidel, on 08/28/2008, -2/+7I was just about to say that, and yes it is.
- BoneStamp, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4...and, and let me have iTunes on two computers (work laptop and home computer) that both sync to the SAME song library (network drive). Then I can sync my contacts and calendar with work and get new podcasts on the road. Yes, I realize there are workarounds for this and MobileMe takes care of part of this... but there shouldn't have to be workarounds and MobileMe doesn't solve all of this.
- BrendanSheehan, on 08/28/2008, -1/+5?
- pault107, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4Go ahead.
Also, you've just admitted that you are the same guy from yesterday (username: CoolStoryBro). You're not very clever are you? - kipmarlowe, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4Are you joking?
- baldgye, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4The Zune's marketing wasn't a total failure, but the software definitely is...I'd like iTunes to do all that, but more than anything I'd like Apple to make it super stable in Vista (like it is in OS X)... I want that more than social networking
- malex, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Sure is banned in here.
- Diggnabbit, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Click on the first one you want to select, then shift-click on the last one. That selects them and all fo the songs in between.
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Yeah... just save your iTunes library (the actual library file, not the music) to your network drive and then redirect both computers to read that file as the iTunes library (hold immediately after clicking the iTunes icon). Problem solved. Now both computers have control over the same library,
- emaf37, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3It's sad when Windows Media Player is faster on my computer than iTunes is. WMP automatically updates added songs to the library too which is nice.
- totorototoro, on 08/28/2008, -1/+4Come on Apple, save Pandora.
- Balanced, on 08/28/2008, -1/+4It is. Using it in the article title would be an attempt at 'humor.'
- HolyChimp, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3@kipmartin: buried as inaccurate, there's also a racing game with a penguin!!
- crazysamz, on 08/28/2008, -1/+4ok not cool using zune's slogan for itunes..
- MrSkills, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3I'd prefer tit-for-tit.
- pault107, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Troll. Check his comment history:

This is the same guy that was all over Digg yesterday and got banned. He spreads his vile filth looking for a response. But he's a bit more dangerous than that - DO NOT CLICK ON ANY OF HIS LINKS. Some lead to a virus, some lead to browser hijacks. Just report him and move on. - eggsovereasy, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3Which works until you leave your house with your laptop and realize you have no music :(
- HolyChimp, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Also causes problems if one of your computers is OS X and the other is Windows. iTunes needs to fix the file paths for each song when it starts up. I used to put up with it, but then my iTunes database got corrupted and I lost all my play counts and ratings (could have been unrelated, but I doubt it).
- Palaceguard, on 08/28/2008, -2/+4You're ***** trash
- Shaggy3, on 08/28/2008, -2/+4Digital comics please.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2you disagree with his statement?
- PabloMac, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Yeah, Microsoft would never do that.
- nakile, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2"The Microsoft MBU has created some great stuff for Macs..." Like Office for Mac 2008? Takes bloody ages to launch, crashes like crazy, slower than the '04 version that RUNS UNDER PPC EMULATION.
Of course, when everybody uses it at school, they think it's Apple's fault. ***** Microsoft. - Coug, on 08/28/2008, -4/+6you mean so you couldn't give a ***** - think about it
mac users... - BrendanSheehan, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2iTunes for Windows needs to be fully rewritten, anything else would be a bonus.
/Mac user - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -1/+3How about a new name while they're at it? The whole iTunes app doesn't even make sense any more. It started as a great music management application, that syncs with iPods. Now it plays videos, and has the iTunes Store, which would be OK if it were only for music, but it also has non-music podcasts, videos, and applications, none of which are "tunes".
- dullnation, on 08/28/2008, -3/+5I seriously don't want them to do this, streamline the damn thing, stop adding more ***** that people never use!
- tacojohn48, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2But popular opinion must be right; it is the very cornerstone of democracy.
- oldhick, on 08/28/2008, -1/+3So Saleem converted his job of spamming Digg into actually being "a social media consultant and a top-ranked community member on multiple social news sites."
Oh well, I guess anything is possible in this crazy new world! Congrats... - BrendanSheehan, on 08/28/2008, -0/+2Your ignorance is ironic.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -2/+4i like itunes because it came with my mac. i don't see why there's so much hate against it - it gets the job done
oh, and custom skins, plz? -
