My sister (13 y/o in the 7th grade) bought a $400 year-old technology phone online (phones do cost a lot without a service plan... that free phone you got with the 2-year contract will cost you $200 without the contract). Here's the good part... SHE LOST IT AFTER TWO MONTHS! AAHHH!!! MOM, CAN I HAVE AN IPOD NOW, I'M 6 YEARS OLDER THAN HER, MORE RESPONSIBLE, AND I'VE NEVER GIVEN YOU ANY TROUBLE LIKE HER! Maybe if apple says "Hey you can trade in your ipod and get this phone for less" because the phone is pretty cool. I have an ipod which i love but I don't have a cell phone. I'm not a big phone person. So, this just looks cool but I wouldn't buy it.

That new patent by apple which enables you to scroll on the screen without actually touching, just hovering above it? Any relation with this. Maybe they are planning to release an OQO sized tablet pc, with iPod features and ability to make all sorts of calls (3G, UMTS, GSM, etc) That would be awesome. Maybe 2.0 Ghz with atleast 1GB RAM and 256MB video card( so that I will be able to play awesome games on i.e after installing windows on it obviously) With a really cool OS. It should maybe have atleast 2 MP camera(dont mind anything higher)

- lou2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1jeez. u guys. of course its fake. its just speculation. most speculations have some kind of basis on facts tho. the way i see it, the cell phone market is going to start encroaching on ipod sales. as soon as it does (but not before) apple will start selling their own version of a phone with itunes. I know women with their purses don't mind carrying phones and ipods but I pretty much limit myself to just one device. an itunes phone would be a "must have". hopefully some of this guys predictions will come true.

I have a phone now with a nice screen, that doesn't look so nice after a few days against my face... yeah, I wash it regularly, but it's still not a great idea to have a nice display against your face/head/hair in any case.

That's the reason Apple didn't allow the ROKR to be very good, because if it was it would take sales away from the iPod. So the iPhone will either be a phone without good music capability, an add-on to the iPod, a good phone/iPod hybrid that costs a truly insane amount of money (>$800), or a replacement for the iPod.
