- dan21328, on 10/11/2007, -11/+5911. - Affordable Macs.
- bzzq, on 10/11/2007, -14/+51how many of those lame lists do we really need? ten?
- flamingmb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+31The powerbook G5 should be on there. It was on every rumor site before the intel switch announcment squashed it.
- EBFoxbat, on 10/11/2007, -7/+27Apple Store is Down.... something's happening.
- joewashere, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21Great list, but uhh who the heck starts a top ten at number one?!?!?!
- Niz1, on 10/11/2007, -4/+21Piles
- Balanced, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Allow me to introduce you to this thing called a "Top Ten List." The critical work in the field was pioneered by Letterman and Schaefer.
- brstilson, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16Yeah, and the windows in Windows 1.0 couldn't overlap. Therefore, all versions of Windows are garbage.
- Slartidad, on 10/11/2007, -4/+14eddyc:
if the stories suck, go digg up some better ones! - Balanced, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Yes, and that was *20* years ago on a very different OS. Bugs get fixed, you know.
- steelmaverick, on 10/11/2007, -6/+14What about a top ten of top tens?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9***** maverick you've divided by zero!!!?!?
- chuzbox, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13Go price out a dell or HP with the same specs as a macbook pro...tell me what happens
- EBFoxbat, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9I don't understand that. I'm quite certain you're Mac bashing but could you please elaborate?
- digggggggggg, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Did you know that the only enemy of the hole is the pile?
- erczilla, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I guess one recent rumor will be true, check out store portion of apple.com. They are currently updating the page. New Macs anyone?
- mputnam, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I know because my friend/mom/uncle/dog once worked/designed/ate/slept at Apple
- RoflMyWaffle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4"Also yet to appear: a $100 iPod."
uh... Shuffle ring a bell? it IS technically an iPod - eddyc, on 10/11/2007, -7/+10As of now the front page consists of:
Ten Biggest Apple Rumors (that never came true)
Top 10 Things Microsoft Loves and Hates About Open Source
Did you see that? Top 25 TV Moments
Google's 10 Commandments
10 Tips: Save your Money by Saving the Planet
gone to ***** ya are , digg - briguymaine, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6wow, the store is down. I thought it was another joke/rumor.
- danmat06, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Apple Has A Patent On Piles? owch.
- jonathantneal, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5From the article, "Pretty drool-worthy, right? Probably why the story garnered more than 1,100 diggs." Ah, back when 1,100 diggs signaled the second coming.
- elementfire, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Dugg for pleasantly surprising me by putting the whole list on one page.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+9Some of those aren't exactly far from the truth...I mean we have iPods for less than 100, U2 had their iPod with all the music, and Jobs did sell Pixar to Disney...
- jlebrech, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2http://youtube.com/watch?v=LBfLjqfYKM0
iPhone.
Slide out keyboard.
Rumour: not true. - Colesif, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is retarded. Most of these things I'm glad Apple never made or did aside from the tablet Mac.
There are others that they have essentially done.
Mac PDA-iPhone?
iHome-Front Row/Apple TV? - carleethian, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2the site's still working fine, but thanks for diarrheaing on my screen
- rspeed, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3#6 is wrong as well. The iPhone is a PDA.
Oh, and I think the shuffle is certainly worth the money for lots of people. - dbz253, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3what about the gaming system. am i the only one who remembers rumors of that?
- imnojezus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Changing the HD on a MacBook is just as simple as upgrading the RAM. This isn't true for the MacBookPro or iMac, but both are older lines and might change on the next iteration. The graphics card is an architecture issue... I understand WHY Apple chose to do it that way, but I don't like it much either.
disclaimer: MacBook Pro owner - MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well, you CAN change the hard drive...it's just a PITA to do so. At least it's much harder than it should be.
- stmiller, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1How can they leave out the Powerbook G5?
http://www.engadget.com/2005/01/14/powerbook-g5-coming-in-q2/
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/laptops-pcs/apple/powerbook-g5-next-tuesday-106453.php
"The PowerBook G5 is not only one of the coolest looking personal computers on the planet, it's also the fastest portable computer available." said Philip Schiller, Apple s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "We think it was worth the wait."

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20050114A7040.html - Balanced, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Sadly, the negative connotations of the term is one reason it hasn't been looked at more... The concept is a neat one, but it's difficult to market around a feature if the name isn't right.
- slapthemonkey, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Good Article. But there would be more........only ten?
- IneffablePolk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1#8 and #9 are B.S. The rumors came true with the shuffle and the AppleTV.
Now, don't get me wrong, neither are worth the money, but they exist. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well ... Not to be... Something, but the iPhone is in my opinion the Apple PDA.
- ezweave, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1@dbz253: they did release a game system in the 90s. It was horrible.
Also, Sun did almost buy them, during the dark ages. - Justin6512, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1there's no slide out keyboard
http://www.apple.com/iphone/ - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3the apple store is down right now! *not a rumor* but usually that means they are putting something new on it.
- CaesarBlue, on 10/11/2007, -4/+51. Disney to buy Apple/Apple to buy Disney
2. Apple Plasma TVs
3. iPods pre-loaded with music
4. Apple to buy record label Universal Music Group
5. Justin Long no longer doing Mac ads
6. Apple PDA
7. Tablet Mac
8. iHome Media Center/DVR
9. $100 Striped, Mini iPods
10. Piles - adalgiso, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3The iPhone doesn't have a slide-out keyboard...
- Swampthing, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Many of these rumors have a basis in fact.
- m00dy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1They sell ipods with pre loaded music in some countries
- diggernaught, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3And the number 1 most misconstruted, inaccurate, outlandish rumor is: Apple will take over the desktop market. Ha ha ha, thier entry point for what you essentailly have to have with a system (Monitor, DVDRW, and Service ability for upgrades and/or repairs ) see macMini vs an Office Depot Emachine deal. Plus I can drop a PCIx video card in my emachine to game. If I need a fancy linux distru I will run Umbutu.
- jwa898, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1the iPhone is fairly close to a PDA
the AppleTv though lacking a DVR is a media center - doublem9876, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1I dunno. These don't seem like the BIGGEST rumors that never came true.
- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1@chuzbox,
Oh that's easy. You'll have a computer that you can't put OS X or run Mac software on without jumping through hoops or being able to have the latest version...next - F4n471k, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Of course rumors are created, they need something to keep people from buying PC's, especially the fact that Justin Long would stop doing the commercials lawl.
- streak, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Add a new one to the top of the list: Engadget's rumor today that the iPhone is going to be delayed until October and Leopard delayed until January '08. Just minutes after posting, the rumor was debunked, but not before AAPL took a 4+% dive.
- paulmike3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13. iPods pre-loaded with music
My iPod came pre-loaded with music. Used iPods FTW. -
