For all the breaking wind Apple stories - bigmac7669, on 05/13/2008, -1/+11Hooked on phonics didn't work for you
- DaviDaviDaviD, on 05/13/2008, -0/+12So, what about the 3G iPhone? Seems like this will be about OS X and not about products. Maybe the new iPhone will be released sooner than later.
- dfsjdkflasjk, on 05/13/2008, -1/+8Weird, I did the same thing to your comment.
- ngmcs8203, on 05/13/2008, -0/+5You bent my wookie.
- mlavergn, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4You're looking at the candy shell, which I agree looks a whole lot like Tiger. The bulk of Leopards goodness is what's under the candy shell: 64 bit, multicore optimization, UNIX certification, self-tuning TCP/IP, ObjectiveC 2.0 with garbage collection, CoreAnimation, and resolution independence. Leopard is a technological leap forward, not so much an eye candy leap. I'll say this, it's much nicer to develop for Leopard than it was for Tiger under XCode.

- cgruber, on 05/13/2008, -1/+6Maybe he'll go wild and wear a blue turtleneck with black jeans.
- roberto_deneero, on 05/14/2008, -0/+3actually he's the man who is going to run microsoft and dell into the ground. he's going to do the right thing and close down dell and give the shareholders their money back.
- okaroleo, on 05/13/2008, -1/+4Blasphemy!!
- Gregsaw, on 05/13/2008, -3/+7Big surprise. Does this really need to be dugg?
- mp93, on 05/14/2008, -0/+4Yes. We heard you the first time.
- diothar, on 05/13/2008, -1/+4When are they going to release OS X for Windows? An operating system for an operating system? Isn't that like when you add a playlist to a playlist? I'm pretty sure that's how black holes are formed.
- 3dprototype, on 05/13/2008, -5/+8BREAKING!!!

pc fascists bash apple fanboys
apple fanboys digg down pc fascists
same ole s**t...different day. - rpark, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2You mean they're not going to announce products at the World Wide Developers Conference?! Who do those developers think they are!
- thedragon4453, on 05/13/2008, -0/+4I think the only reason this could possibly be news is because the "one more thing..." is likely to be the rumored 3g iphone.
- NeoRicen, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2No it's not, it was only introduced in September. If past years are anything to go by Apple will have another Music related event in September and the iPod will get updated there. Even still WWDC is not the place to talk about iPods (unless they run the iPhone OS).
- nebkiwi, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3well if they carry on the current os release cycle it should be here in a year and a few months. how long before leopard was released did they first reveal information about it?
- whalt, on 05/13/2008, -0/+3Hey I'm a fanboy bit this is ridiculous. What did you expect him to talk about? The new line of Kenmore dishwashers?
- superkendall, on 05/13/2008, -2/+4You are literally the last person on earth to not realize the 3G iPhone will be released around WWDC.
- Bender1012, on 05/13/2008, -5/+9I actually want to hear about the iPod. The Classic is actually near the end of its "predicted" cycle, and I'm hoping to spring for a new model.
- dagamer34, on 05/13/2008, -1/+5Rev it with what though? More space? I'm sorry to say this but the iPod Classic will be as neglected as the mini in the future. It's all about making the Touch cheaper. And with the 3rd party apps coming in June, it's only a matter of time.
- HollisJamison, on 05/13/2008, -1/+32.0, as in an incremental upgrade, you'd this if this was the case they wouldn't make up a special name for it. Perhaps Tiger 2.0, or since Tiger is 10.4 maybe 10.5.
Oh wait.. - CouchTomato, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3Hope he hasnt lost more weight..will be good to see him fatten up like Ballmer and got nuts on the stage..
- inactive, on 05/13/2008, -2/+4They love his farts-
They package them in little bags and sell them as Apple iScent .
For some, it's the closest they will ever get to literally kissing Steve Job's ass! - Haydio, on 05/13/2008, -2/+4Vista is like ME 2.0
- nrdj, on 05/13/2008, -1/+3They wont announce anything at WWDC, the iPod classic isn't pertinent to developers. Perhaps they'll rev it in the fall (so it doesn't cannibalize any press on the updated iPhone and whatever else they announce).
- ferrite, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1http://www.cocotron.org/
There, now just fill in the missing pieces of the UI, binary compatibility, driver compatibility, and don't violate any patents or copywrong laws and you're set.
Oh wait, too much work for you?
Either buy a Mac or fiddle with OSX86. - snafflepaffle, on 05/13/2008, -0/+2Don't think 10.5 is old enough. Wait until about 10.5.6 for the hype to start.
- frostw, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1BOOM!
- tlamming, on 05/13/2008, -1/+2HAY EVERYONE STEVE JOBS IS GONNA TALK ABOUT APPLE PRODUCTS!!
- tacojohn48, on 05/14/2008, -1/+2That depends how much risk you are willing to accept with your stock purchase. I believe when Steve cut the Iphone price the stock went down.
- udahlen, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1I'm shocked. I could never had guessed Steve Jobs would appear at WWDC and talk about the iPhone. Shocking! What's next?
- kingsal, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1In other news, the sky is blue and puppies are cute.
- rickcarson, on 05/14/2008, -1/+3Yes, well done, very droll.
There is a significance to this - which is that
(1) SJ won't be up there for the majority of the time
His Jobness likes to be on stage for the new and radical stuff. Which is why you don't get Stevenotes about minor speed bumps, like the MacPro before MacWorld and the iMac the other week.
(2) No new hardware
If they spend their whole time yacking about how great their existing products are, then there won't be any 'new' stuff. Oh sure, there'll be 3G iPhone, and iPhone 2.0... but really, we know all that already.
The amount of surprises in any given Keynote is inversely proportional to the length of time SJ spends on stage. - MCDupree, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1Good to know...they should promote that side of things a little more...(and perhaps they do, I just don't see it)
- jasarien, on 05/13/2008, -0/+1A really loud hawaiian shirt, and a pair of lime green florescent 3/4 lengths! :D
- NeoRicen, on 05/14/2008, -0/+1You're right, however a 3G iPhone announcement could be tied to the Software update so it's not completely unrelated to developers. It might even have features developers can use that they couldn't before.
