- KrisStrong, on 04/29/2009, -32/+802I'll wait til it drops below $50/share....then I'll buy as much as my accountant will let me. Wait, who the ***** am I kidding. I don't have an accountant...nor do I have $50.
- mitchellg100, on 01/14/2009, -52/+532Whether or not you are a fan of his personality, Steve Jobs is one of the most brilliant men in technology. The loss of Steve would be a great loss to the world.
- MurphyMac, on 01/14/2009, -29/+483I hope he's ok, I really do. But I'm confident Apple has the people in place to keep things rolling.
- KrisStrong, on 04/29/2009, -24/+304Must...resist....selling.....shares.
- black2night, on 01/14/2009, -14/+249I wish him the best of health

- shaka776, on 01/14/2009, -22/+171I'm a Windows fanboy, but my prayers are with you Steve...
- username7410, on 01/14/2009, -11/+150Sell, rebuy after the panic at a discount.
- MrARPA, on 01/14/2009, -5/+134"during the past week I have learned that my
health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought"
I always thought things were more serious than Steve was prepared to admit unless he really had to. Let's hope he recovers. - macmcraeart, on 01/14/2009, -3/+114mom can I have $50?
- ModX, on 01/14/2009, -9/+115Best of luck to Steve and his family. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

- BorsKaegel, on 01/14/2009, -14/+101Get well soon, Steve!
- dpchi, on 01/14/2009, -4/+78Actually, if you sell at a loss and re-buy in less than 30 days, you lose the potential to write off the loss. It's called the wash rule and it is a very compelling reason to not do what you just suggested.
- Ozzsanity, on 01/14/2009, -2/+55I thought that was kind of a moronic reply and then I saw your name and it all made sense.
- shaka776, on 01/14/2009, -1/+46He's loaded and probably has the best healthcare imaginable, what else do you suggest I do for him? Write him a note he'll never have enough time to read?
- Unixed, on 01/14/2009, -27/+70We love you Steve. Get better soon.
- shaka776, on 01/14/2009, -7/+46except maybe a protein deficiency...
- bigfinger, on 01/14/2009, -13/+52Thoughts and prayers go out to you Mr. Jobs.
Best Wishes,
Me - Meccalion, on 01/14/2009, -11/+48Shares are down 8% after hours.
http://finance.google.com/finance?q=AAPL - AbelZhu, on 01/14/2009, -9/+44I have to say that he should step down from his position as CEO and name an heir to Apple, otherwise things will get complicated later on. Bill Gates did the right thing and the transition from him to Steve Ballmer as CEO was near flawless. Bill Gates was as much Microsoft as Steve is Apple. Its time for Jobs to think of the company instead of his egotistical ploy to hold onto his position. Glad he made the right move for the company. tim cook ftw?
- Pinkertinkle, on 01/14/2009, -5/+35Shoulda known this was coming, there aren't many medical problems that can be cured by eating more protein.
- nukeleearr, on 01/14/2009, -7/+37ITT 16 year olds giving bad stock advice
- dn11, on 01/15/2009, -3/+32anonymous guy acts superior to others on internet
- cmallinson, on 01/14/2009, -1/+25Uh ... this "dayyton" guy joined digg on 1/10/09 and since then has posted 8 comments (to date). All of them are about Steve Jobs having AIDS. He has one digg friend (mike awesome) whose has also only submitted comments about Steve Jobs having AIDS.
Me thinks someone shorted some Apple stock. - inactive, on 01/15/2009, -1/+25panic at a discount.. sounds like a bands name
- lukeruls, on 01/14/2009, -2/+26Please don't tell my girlfriend that...
- cyberdork, on 01/14/2009, -6/+30Jobs was essential to Apple until the iPod boom in early 2000s.
Jobs got rid of all the suits in Apple and has replaced them with creative people like himself. Apple is on it's way, just as he always wanted to see it. It's no longer in the hands of accountants as it was in the 90s. He knows himself that the company can easily perform without him.
But IMHO he has been the main reason why Apple's market share hasn't increased much more than it's current status. I'm sure that he is behind most of Apple's weird decisions which we Apple fanboy diggers have learned to hate over the past couple of years. Remember the NDA for App developer episode? Why did Apple get out of the medium price range market? Just two examples. - BBarash, on 01/14/2009, -4/+28He's a smart guy and knows what's best for the company. He doesn't want Apple's value to plummet due to his health concerns and I wish him all the best.
- DiggasWAttitude, on 01/14/2009, -1/+24I'm an atheist and even I know what shaka means. Terrible whenever anyone gets seriously ill - especially at a relatively young age.
- inactive, on 01/15/2009, -3/+26Not until you clean your smelly bedroom.
- PDAIsAOk, on 01/14/2009, -4/+26wash rule only applies if you are counting the loss to cut capital gains taxing on the profit from the sale.
- quomen, on 01/14/2009, -9/+30He was more of a great CEO. Not one of the most brilliant men in technology specifically.
- crysrulz, on 01/14/2009, -6/+24Seriously, some of you guys are so inconsiderate. Easy for you to sit there and talk ***** about Steve Jobs, who can't personally defend himself while you do so. This isn't about Apple vs. Windows, or whether or not you like the guy. He's human, had to go through a rare form of cancer, now has further health concerns, and unfortunately has to have his personally issues revealed to the public. It's not easy for anyone to go through, even if you are CEO of a huge, influential company.
- oliversan, on 01/14/2009, -6/+23Congratulations, you're officially a heartless *****.
- roxgod666, on 01/14/2009, -7/+24*I love you Steve. Get better soon.
The man is brilliant but leave me out of your worshippers guild. - inactive, on 01/14/2009, -3/+20Do you have proof of this or just enjoy being an *****?
- AboveandBeyond, on 01/14/2009, -28/+45well that's what happens when people try to cure cancer with diet, homeopathy and holy water....
- inactive, on 01/14/2009, -3/+20The guy's health is in serious trouble right now. Do you think you can put the fanboy thing in park for one thread? Would it kill you?
- MarionBarfs, on 01/14/2009, -7/+24dude who the hell said he lied? he just said it's worse than he thought. stop being a typical American trying to sue everyone for everything, so you can benefit. and from this? youre sick.
- dn11, on 01/14/2009, -2/+18he was in denial the first time with his cancer and the necessary treatment.
- RobotCitizen, on 01/15/2009, -0/+16Damn, having money is hard.
- JustinHopewell, on 01/15/2009, -1/+16This is why I don't play the stock market. Every time I play Monopoly with my friends, it ends up turning into this big argument over the rules, and we end up almost ending our friendship over it. I wouldn't do much better on Wall Street.
- jarjarwang, on 01/14/2009, -8/+23I hope he gets better.
- jtp51, on 01/14/2009, -8/+22What is your problem?
- Allegorical, on 01/14/2009, -8/+22Get well soon Steve,
I'm sure Apple will do just fine without you for this short period, but please come back. - DMCer, on 01/15/2009, -1/+15EVERY stock price is a reflection of confidence (or lack thereof) in a company. Even Apple's price is relatively low considering it has $20 billion of spare cash sitting in the bank. A stock price that's only four times a company's free cash flow is *already* considered undervalued. If that's not enough for you, AAPL lost 52% since 1/08, not counting today's after-hours slide. Undervalued.
- aklu, on 01/14/2009, -0/+14I wish Steve and his family the best of luck in the fight ahead of them. If it is cancer related, then I feel sorry knowing what they are about to go through.
I hope he gets well and makes Apple even better than it already is.
/typing this from windows XP
//never used a Mac - geodebug, on 01/15/2009, -0/+13Ah, the old sell low, buy high gambit.
- ozziegt, on 01/14/2009, -2/+15Well anyone who has worked at Apple will tell you that Jobs had his hand in everything. He ran a really tight ship. Only time will tell how Apple will do without him.
