John Mayer is a pretty funny dude. If you seen him on Chapelle Show, or other shows he pops up now and then. I don't remember which one it was where he walked around in a bear mascot suit in a parking lot before his concert and was telling everyone how John Mayer sucks.

I'm looking at crash reports sent by our customers everyday. The comment of the user is by far not the first place I look at - because it's the stack which is the most important. Nobody will read such a long comment, anyway it's too generic and not useful at all. It doesn't tell how to reproduce the problem at all.
Even for one shareware application the number of crashes requires to have lots of filters and some sort of automatic parsing. I'm sure that Apple has a huge parser (perl, or whatever) which sorts out all the crash logs arriving from customers first by application, OS version, then by stack, etc, then it is probably forwarded to the team, which is responsible for that area of code.

this is awesome, and to everyone who's complaining - he seems like a really nice, and somewhat down to earth guy. its pretty remarkable that he has time to submit these kinds of things...which is why i wonder how legitimate this really is, but that's okay...

iTunes/iPod randomization isn't random enough. I put all my listenable music into a playlist, then created a smart playlist to pick a random selection of about 48 hours worth of music that hasn't been listened to in the past 7 days and is in the other playlist. Before I sync, I just delete everything in that smart playlist and iTunes auto-refills it. Very easy. If you have something you want to listen to, simply put it in another playlist and sync that too.

The reason this is news is because apparently mac users aren't allowed to make complaints against Apple. If John Mayer was on digg he'd be buried and called a M$fanboi.

I listen to Ron and Fez on XM202 and Mayer used to call in once in a while. The last time he called in, Ron says, "John you're on the air" and he says the above quote. It makes me laugh to see that he even starts off a bug report with a hey by the way this is john mayer.

The "maybe you guys are collecting that kind of data" is obviously sarcasm and not John Mayer accusing or caring if Apple is "spying" on him. That part of this is just nonsense.
