      The 90's brought us THE INTERNET. That's the BIGGEST thing that's happened for the common people for 50 years or more. Maybe the best communication advance since the telephone or printing press.

      Nothing in the adjacent decades even compares to the internet in terms of influencing the people and generating money.

      Plus the US had record family income, low welfare, the longest period of economic expansion in our nation's history.

      The 90s were pretty good, but ... then Bush was elected and our surplus turned into 5 TRILLION in debt.

      People lack of knowledge of their own nation's history IS KILLING US.

      A lot of you are told things like Reagan was a great president and the 80's was the great economic expansion.

      This simple isn't true. The 90's is where the DOW really goes up.

      The 80's represent tax cuts for the wealthy and the removal of clinical trials from the drug approval process.
      Removed in the sense that the Reagan administration worked it so that the drug companies DO THEIR OWN CLINICAL TRIALS and then submit what they see fit to the FDA and doctors.

      The 90's also marks the failures that was Star Wars AND the supposedly reusable Space Shuttle program which is a MASSIVE waste of money and not nearly as safe as Apollo style missions where you just put teh payload on the top of a multi stage rocket. FAIL, FAIL, FAIL. MONEY MONEY MONEY... DEBT DEBT DEBT

      Reagan pretty much founded the National Debt and the spend and borrow strategy, while slandering the democrats for their 'tax and spend politics'?

      Sorry GOP morons but taxing is vastly more 'fiscally responsible' than borrowing with no plan on how to pay back.

      HENCE the devaluation of the US dollar. We are FOOLS at managing money and we are wasting our national equity and cannibalizing working class equity to keep profit margins up. THIS ALL STARTED IN THE 80s.
      Though, Nixon was a sign of the times to come and SOMEHOW we went right back to the Nixcon, Reagan, Bush Bush politics. These guys ALL operated roughly the same and on the same premise.

      Though, to be fair Bush SR wasn't too bad and didn't amount as much debt AS MOST GOP PRESIDENTS.

      The 90s were SO GOOD in fact that we had an impeachment circus over a Clinton's libido. I don't think that could even happen in today's politics. NO LESS you hold Clinton accountable for some sex in the oval office and you let the Bush admin get away with war crimes.

      The better times are, the LESS interested people are in politics. Which is WHY the GOP rose to power and was able to run the impeachment circus. In today's political landscape, we would LAUGH at the idea that impeachment for totally legal sex is even an option. The nation has MUCH bigger problems and MUCH more corrupt politicians still in power.

      Senator Craig ... anyone. Mark Folly or whatever his last name was, The gay prostitute/white house press guy Jeff Gannon.

      That ***** is WAY WAY in a new league of misconduct that makes Bill look like a Saint in comparison. You are living in bitter times. There was pretty much NO real problems in the 90s WE EVEN HAD GAS less than a dollar a gallon... remember. That's probably the cheapest gas has been since the 60's, inflation adjusted.

      Learn some US history if you want your opinion to matter in the long run. Any fool can get ranked on Digg, but saying something fact based that really has content and passion is so much more worth YOUR TIME and ours.

      Apple doesn't make useless gadgets, so the idea of something useless where they care about the aesthetics more than the usability doesn't make much sense. I could understand making a joke about reducing all the features of some big complex machine to one button, and then charging more for it, but the "i" just doesn't play off any of the humorous aspects of what Apple is.

      Still, the execution was absolutely hilarious.
