- jackcheng, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Thanks for the post! Now excuse me while I set myself a reminder using the cheap plastic buttons on my 2-year-old LG phone :(
- mr.hostility, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18@KSUdesigner
You are a ***** moron. - KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11So I misunderstood my friend who told me, and I quote, "they're including 2 years of service." I was clearly misinformed and if I could digg my own comment down I would. I'll be sure to double check my facts before I post a comment on digg again.
- cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10ABC...
Hmm, I wonder who owns ABC...
Oh that's right, Disney. Duh. - gronne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I don't really think media players are going to be competing with the iPhone. At least not till the price comes down. $599 WITH a 2-year contract -- that's pretty steep for the average teen. The $249 players will be battling each other for a while but the iPhone is in it's own category.
- nadcraker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That almost sounds like the hook in a rap song...
- brummers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10KSUdesigner You should sign a 4 year contract, think of the money you'll save. /sarc
- mrdoolittle119, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7some 1 put it on youtube
- CLIFFosakaJAPAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I initially got the Heads Up from the following site:
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/index.html#S22226 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5UH OH. Steve Jobs and Stephen Colbert on television at the same time. What's a digger to do?
- hthth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This is the weirdest comment thread I've ever seen on Digg.
- thatnimrod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://abcnews.go.com/search?searchtext=steve+jobs&type=video

The most vehemently homophobic males tend to be those overcompensating due to their own unrequited homosexual desires. So do the world a favor and just come out already. - pb3623, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Just talk and demos of products we either knew about of can't have for 6 months."
What other categories are there? Were you honestly expecting a bombshell announcement NOT eluded to by 24,392 tech blogs and publications since January 2006?
Does the fact that Steve himself did not announce iWork or iWork 07 mean it won't happen, or is the Leopard project completely scrapped now?
And by the way, I ordered two brand new products today (Apple TV and AirPort Extreme), I look forward to having them within the 6-month period you quoted.
/heavysarcasm - zydeco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3What good is a product if it's technologically innovative, but nobody wants it or nobody can use it?
Marketing and usability are worth a lot more than you give credit for. Sometimes the market doesn't need great leaps forward, it needs the current leaps to WORK CORRECTLY before taking that next jump. - hthth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+47 years ago Apple products were considered junk by the majority of computer users. Automatically major? You don't go from zero to hero without having done something right ... a lot of things right, in Apple's case.
- wild, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is the normalist comment thread I have seen on digg.
- derlin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5...cause he is ***** badass
- Craptasticman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hmmmm.....did he do his "one more thing" the way he always does? You never know he may have mixed up the formula a bit and tonight is his "one more thing". Rumour mills....ENGAGE!!
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i hope
*cries wanting more apple products* - bigboehmboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And therein lies the weirdness.
- pb3623, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@cal0001
As far as I can tell, the only 802.11n router that offers a built-in USB port for external storage (not only a print server) is the Linksys DualBand 802.11n WRT600N router... and while a price announcement is not expected until after after CES, I'm sure it will be at or around the $165 I paid w/ my Federal Gov't discount. An unwieldy-looking beast too!
Do you own any Apple products? I ask this only because you mention "top dollar..." If you do, then you also paid top dollar. Since "Apple, Inc." uses a retail strategy called minimum advertised price to discourage discounts, the only way NOT to pay "top dollar" is to get it on eBay or the like. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@bbxboy: Thankfully I've ***** enough women to know how much I love it. And I also enjoy the sport of deliberately making comments on digg to generate a response such as yours. And finally, my religion tells me what I already know: homosexuality is bad, wrong and evil.
- pb3623, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3@ajck
OK, you've now had two chances to spell it right. Anyway, I think the word is "bigot." - wild, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Tell me KSU means Kansas State and not Kent State...
- Cab00se, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Guys, Macworld Expo lasts quite a few days! Meaning they can still release more stuff. Just because it's not in the keynote, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. As for the iPhone I'm pretty sure that the zune has no freakin chance right now.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3The problem is that ALL of Apple's success comes directly from Steve Jobs. If he decides to leave or gets killed by a carelessly flung zune, Apple's stock will plummet, and the rate of 'innovation' will be seriously slowed. In fact I'd predict that they'd be quickly relegated back to 7-8 years ago where nobody except the truly deluded, masochistic fanboys will use apple products.
Its definatley not a smart idea to have any company to orbit solely around the machinations of a single person. Somehting happens to them and the company is pretty much assured to be screwed! - cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i have calmed down and i just bought the router only because i want the network attached storage and because i have a tone of external HD lying around
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4why devote the whole keynote to things we cant buy
and the apple store has been updated and the only new things are an option to pre odder an apple TV and oh yea you can buy an apple router real cool
that's it unless you count a huge ad for the iPhone and it looks like that ad will be around for 6 months - JesusIsSatan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Is Steve Jobs some kind of major celebrity in the geek kingdom like George Lucas was for awhile? Why are people following his every move and eating up every little poop he drops? I'm just curious.
- Petronski, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Brummers, that's funny as hell.
LOL - mdmadph, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1@KSUdesigner
wow. I don't think I've ever met someone so naive about owning a cell phone (that was over the age of 12). - cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2look stop digging me down
I'm sorry, i was disappointed mainly because when apple starts making hype on the apple home page before MacWorld you expect to be able to by something
i am not an apple hater
in the last 2 years or so i have bought an iBook G4, 5 iPod shuffles an iPod photo, Tiger a 5th Gen ipod a MacBook an airport Base station, 4 pairs of apple head in-ear headphones an iPod dock and remote, an iMac and more
but i just wanted to be able to buy something today and have it soon
Sorry for being bitchy - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Seems apple are slipping! I can't remember a single other instance where Jobby has 'launched' something that isn't available 'right now'.
It really smells like a lame attempt to steal some of Vista's thunder, but with Jobs entire life now seemingly devoted to trash MS at every opportunity, I guess we can't really expect anything more from him! - cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1look i am happy to pay top dollar for apple stuff i spend thousands on apple products which is why i am pissed that apple isn't giving me anything to buy today other than a router
you can get pre n routers - jrizzo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3@zybch: Funny, I just got off of the phone with my financial adviser, and I was telling him the same thing. You are right, Steve-o is the only thing holding that company where it is. I personally think the products don't even have anything to do with it; that guy can just give a press conference like it is a rock concert. He could sell ***** and it would still make millions.
Granted, he is really good at making things really simple to use, but the dude lacks the ability to be truly technologically innovative. His skill is in packaging products, not creating new ones. Someday the market will realize that and apple will be dead in a heartbeat. - hoppdawg, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4That was intelligent.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1> Certainly seems to portend something major!
Duuuuhhhhhh. Could dat be der I - Phwone.....Duuuuhhhhhh? - effedup, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0all these mac fanboys are hangin' off Steve's nuts so hard they could all get together and collectively form a third nut. And it wouldn’t be no super sac, it’d be a droopy sac.. hanging out the back of his shorts.
- willhoy, on 10/12/2007, -19/+13He must have the cleanest balls on earth, with so many dudes fighting to blow him.
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4what you think the keynote was good
i am a huge apple fanboy but please not even one thing we can have today when was the last time that happened at MacWorld - macfanboi, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Count down to the circle jerk!!!!!
- cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5the wait will zune be over and you'll be able to sport a multi-touch gesture input iPhone
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1"And by the way, I ordered two brand new products today (Apple TV and AirPort Extreme), I look forward to having them within the 6-month period you quoted."
yea your smart paying top dollar for a router with a fancy name (you can get 802.11n routers)
and i said we either already knew about, that being the apple TV
or couldn't have for 6 month
and according to apple if you want the iPhone you will have to wait 6 months ( january February March April May June) - diamondg14, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3If he gives me an iPhone, I'll jump in line, mouth wide open.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+1Oh my goodness gracious me, two *****' faggits in this thread!
Yeeeeuch! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2Shut up you *****' faggit!
- cal0001, on 10/12/2007, -21/+8maybe they can ask him why apple doesn't actually have anything to release today not even a lousy update to iLife or iWork. Just talk and demos of products we either new about of can't have for 6 months.
if people think this was a good keynote then steve must have had the Reality Distortion Field up to super overload power - Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -19/+5Where does the line to suck Steve Jobs's dick start?
- KSUdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -31/+8While $599 sounds expensive, remember that the price includes a 2 year contract...so you can look at it as paying $599 for the device with free service for 2 years, or a free device while paying $24.96 a month for service. I really think the pricing is spot-on when you break it down. It might be a big chunk of change to drop all at once, but break it down and look at what you're actually getting and it's quite a good deal.
