<crowd claps> - calebian, on 01/25/2009, -1/+26it makes you wonder about people looking up the iphone presentations 20years from now and giggling to themselves at how ancient it looks. haha
- frostbyt, on 01/25/2009, -2/+27I have never heard ppl cheer for a word processor and calculator.
- Scottievm, on 01/25/2009, -1/+20Steve Jobs is a true master of marketing.

- Diggnabbit, on 01/25/2009, -1/+15Or, that it was the 25th anniversary of the Mac...
- vineyardvine, on 01/25/2009, -1/+13The man sure knows how to please a crowd. Hey can do a keynote like no one else.
- DeepFriedFetus, on 01/25/2009, -3/+15Let's hope Steve's still around to present the next big breakthrough from Apple.
- inactive, on 01/25/2009, -1/+12Digg can't keep up with everything.
Don't bitch if its old, just close this tab. - PiRATE7, on 01/25/2009, -0/+10im a PC guy, but damn, that was ***** amazing
- BossKey, on 01/25/2009, -0/+9That's because everyone knows it's easier to insert when it's hard.
- meatmcguffin, on 01/25/2009, -0/+9You do know that Apple paid Xerox in stock for the GUI metaphor which made the company millions after the Macintosh came out?
Also, Apple's implementation was far, far ahead of Xerox, who didn't know what to do with the GUI after they developed it. Ever use a drop down box? Apple invented that. - WayneLiew, on 01/25/2009, -5/+14The excitement when something new comes out from Apple doesn't change since then.
- LoadStar, on 01/25/2009, -0/+9And I was actually thinking how remarkably current the original Mac still is. I would suggest that if you took someone from 1984 who was familiar only with the original Mac, and gave him or her a Mac of today, they would probably find it remarkably familiar. The original Mac was far, far ahead of its time.
- walgman, on 01/25/2009, -2/+11Imagine going back in time and popping an iphone out of your pocket!
- scootinger, on 01/25/2009, -5/+13Wow....he seems about as godlike back in 1984 as he does today.
- diggapleeeze, on 01/25/2009, -4/+12That's what she said.
- 80hd, on 01/25/2009, -1/+8no 'One more thing?' :(
- AndreasTh, on 01/25/2009, -0/+6http://media.arstechnica.com/journals/apple.media/ ...

Oh yea a rabbit would help too - mrBitch, on 01/26/2009, -0/+5@meatmcguffin RE: " You do know that Apple paid Xerox in stock for the GUI metaphor which made the company millions after the Macintosh came out?

You're absolutely correct, however Windows fans like to keep promoting the "Apple stole the whole thing from Xerox PARC" myth. - DelMonte, on 01/25/2009, -0/+5It's almost like people waited the 25th anniversary of the Macintosh to get it on the front page, what a crazy idea!
- GeezerD, on 01/25/2009, -2/+7If you don't like Steve Jobs and the mac intro, go watch the Ballmer Zune show. Oh wait.
- akneeler, on 01/25/2009, -1/+6Easy there, scootinger. You need a bag to breath in or something?
- homescrubb, on 01/26/2009, -0/+5who would dig you down? its damn true
- flammablewater, on 01/26/2009, -0/+4non mono spaced fonts were a really big deal in 1984
- rnawky, on 01/25/2009, -1/+5What does an UMPC say? "Never trust a computer you can't fit into your pocket"
- jaredburgin, on 07/10/2009, -1/+5One More Thing.
- Minutemanjones, on 01/25/2009, -9/+13I hope I'm not the only one that choked up watching that. Wow I feel like a nerd.
- kingofinternet, on 01/25/2009, -2/+6steve jobs is a real american original. i hope he makes a swift recovery.
- punkcat, on 01/25/2009, -0/+4i had speech on my 512k Mac, forgive me for not remembering the name of the app, while not a launch app it was available. also Videoworks was a cool program back in the day that would have allowed the scrolling and slide show presentation.
- tr909, on 01/25/2009, -0/+4And back when PCs had a zero button mouse (and without the mouse part).
- onelikeseabass, on 01/25/2009, -0/+3You just did....
- stickypenguin, on 01/25/2009, -1/+4wow a change of wardrobe for Steve
- mlhshino, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3Historical moment.
- Schmich, on 01/25/2009, -0/+3Except back then he didn't take it for granted.
- terracottapai, on 01/25/2009, -1/+4Great high-pitched whine on the video.
I feel like a dog right now, going nuts. - BlueDjinn, on 01/25/2009, -0/+3Yeah, that was interesting. Computer chess games were all the rage in the early 80's.
- thedragon4453, on 01/26/2009, -0/+3Indeed. In fact, if you think about it, the original Mac presented a lot of the paradigms we still use today - folders, the trash, windows, mice, etc.
- jacksyi, on 01/25/2009, -1/+4Great stuff, insanely great perhaps?
