- kaplanfx, on 07/13/2008, -3/+304doesn't anyone listen to TWIT? In his interview with Leo, he stated that he had gone to the Valley Fair mall for the original launch, and then had planned to go to his local store for the 3G launch, but there were several folks at the front of the Valley Fair line that got in touch with him and said that his appearance in 07 was the best part of the wait and that they were holding a spot at the front for him. He specifically stated he'd show up about 4 hours in advance and chat with people and sign autographs and such, and that the folks in the front were holding him a spot. So yes he cut, but he didn't just do it because he is the Woz, he did it because folks were encouraging him to do it.
- stealthspc, on 07/13/2008, -10/+150Oh come on you guys. This is the guy who helped start the personal computer revolution. I think he gets cutting rights.
- inactive, on 07/13/2008, -5/+74Seriously, who cares? Besides the people in that particular line. This is of no relevance.

Wozniak's response to this garbage story (Posted by CNet):
I told them I would come at 10 AM and get in line and they told me back that the line would be short and they had talked to the people in front and that the people in front WANTED me to go first. I discussed the fact that I'd be with a small group too. The Apple store staff also said that the chairs and table in front of the store would be reserved for me. So sitting in those chairs I was in line. I am thankful for the chairs. I'm actually older than almost everyone in the lines these days. - Arcotik, on 07/13/2008, -9/+70Who. Cares.
- jrtcs, on 07/13/2008, -6/+62***** Gizmodo and C(BS)Net. Buried as inaccurate.
- Owned1Up, on 07/13/2008, -10/+60It's reported that he screamed "I'm Wozniak bitch" and promptly took his place.
- sl4x0r, on 07/13/2008, -1/+40Laporte talking about this right now, apparently Woz showed up at 4am and the Apple store asked him to leave the line and insisted that they save a space for him…looks like CNet is already pulling the story
- inactive, on 07/13/2008, -4/+43Being Woz is enough frankly, he has earned the right to cut in line for any Apple products.
- SilentSpyder, on 07/13/2008, -5/+42Leo just got pissed at CNET during the radio show for doing this story. Remember to Burry As Inaccurate.
- Yuusharo, on 07/13/2008, -1/+37Story is innacurate. Woz was waiting in line at 4AM, the store said they would save his place in line and was there all morning just like everyone else. He even explained his plans on TWiT Live's coverage on Thursday night.
- nightstar, on 07/13/2008, -2/+32The fall of CNET.... Now own by CBS...
- mRIpX, on 07/13/2008, -6/+33learn your facts right cnet
- Chalks777, on 07/13/2008, -4/+25"...and then ambled up to the front of the queue when the store opened at 8 a.m and simply cut in line. No discussion."
How is this sneaky? - jmbrysk, on 07/13/2008, -20/+40Awww, come on! He wasn't buying it for himself, it was for Kathy Griffin.
- judicar, on 07/13/2008, -6/+22Honestly, anyone who doesn't give up their place in line to Woz is an ass.
- bobthedino, on 07/13/2008, -2/+17Here's what Woz had to say about this:
http://news.cnet.com/8601-1023_3-9989823.html?comm ... - jmreid, on 07/13/2008, -0/+15Periods. Use them *****!
- Troy64, on 07/13/2008, -6/+21Give the guy a break, he went out with Kathy Griffin for a while. That is punishment enough for anyone.
- KbuPlatinum, on 07/13/2008, -2/+14Not on pretzel day
/sass - dantidote, on 07/13/2008, -2/+13It was for his other wife.
- echelonist, on 07/14/2008, -0/+11LEEEEEEEE. ROYYYYYYYY. JEEEEEEEEEENKINS. !!!
- tritongreek, on 07/13/2008, -4/+14He and Kathy are broke up.
- bengagnon19, on 07/13/2008, -1/+10The Store gave him permission to...he showed up and was like the 14th one there and they brought him somewhere to wait until they opened the doors. He was even talking with Leo Laporte before he headed over and told everyone that he was going to wait for it.
- Sheeplike, on 07/13/2008, -6/+14buried & inaccurate. Anyone who listened to Leo would know this is a lie and cnet is looking for "ratings"...
- stealthspc, on 07/13/2008, -1/+9You obviously know nothing about computer history. He is really REALLY important. It was he who build the first personal computer for Apple, Steve Jobs just sold it. Don't be ignorant.
Also I don't know why you do a _ instead of a period, but it's retarded. - Meursault, on 07/13/2008, -4/+12Too bad he didn't Segway his ass up to the front of the line.
- JinnRikki, on 07/13/2008, -7/+14Buried for being BS and Leo is pissed!
- twertyto, on 07/13/2008, -1/+8How can a photo prove someone cuts into line?
- HolyChimp, on 07/13/2008, -1/+8Your keyboard seems to be broken. Round these parts we end our sentences with a full stop (or a period for the Americans). You seem to be using an underscore.
- fuze44, on 07/13/2008, -0/+7Woz never gets his due respect. There would be no Apple without him, yet there he is having to stand in line at the store? Why isn't he getting the royal treatment?
- derleiermann, on 07/13/2008, -0/+7Gizmodo and their usual crappy articles, they've been going downhill for a while.
Seriously Gizmodo guys, get some Editorial control before you go down the drains forever. - deaftly, on 07/13/2008, -6/+13Does anyone really give a ***** about this?
- mrjcleaver, on 07/13/2008, -2/+8Yup, please BURY THIS STORY.
- WTF69, on 07/13/2008, -1/+7And then he bitch slapped the first person in line and said: "I'm Wozniak bitch."
- gzusfreak, on 07/13/2008, -0/+5Once again, just like your previous comment, you need to get the story right.
http://news.cnet.com/8601-1023_3-9989823.html?hhTe ... - trunkster, on 07/13/2008, -0/+5Yeah he truly is an engineer. He doesn't seem to care about the business part of things at all. His book was a very interesting read.
- carpeclunes, on 07/13/2008, -0/+5I don't understand what part of stealthspc's comment your comment is directed at.
- gzusfreak, on 07/13/2008, -0/+5Get the story right uberfu
http://news.cnet.com/8601-1023_3-9989823.html?hhTe ... - Sheeplike, on 07/13/2008, -1/+6Rad what Steve said: http://news.cnet.com/8601-1023_3-9989823.html?hhTe ...
- jakethelake, on 07/13/2008, -1/+6How the hell is that photographic evidence of a line cut? All I see is a bunch of Joes standing around and some bald dude peering creepily through a window.
- sp4rky, on 07/13/2008, -0/+4He is with Janet Hill "soon to be wife", or so he said on Twit Live during the 24 hours iphone stream. He also said that the store and some of the people wanted him to come down and be the first to get an iphone at that Apple store. Blogs should have done some checking before blowing this up.
- ConanTL, on 07/13/2008, -0/+4You would think that Steve Jobs would send him a box load of iPhones, since he wouldn't be where he is now without Woz's hax0r skillz.
- nonymous666, on 07/13/2008, -1/+5And helped start Apple. Jobs should be arranging for one of any new Apple product to be delivered to Woz's house on the morning of its release.
- nogami, on 07/13/2008, -1/+5Uh... He's still an Apple employee - #1 for that matter - he can go pretty much where he wants to. If that includes an Apple store, I'm sure the employees would've happily handed him the keys and asked him to lock up when he's done.
Regardless, he's Woz. If I'm in a lineup, I'll either let him cut in, or give him my spot. And that has nothing to do with him being an Apple employee or a founder, but he's genuinely a cool guy. - edwartica, on 07/13/2008, -0/+4Or before its official release even.
- Caalro, on 07/13/2008, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvZFPBkIom0
first thing that came to mind. - kiranlightpaw, on 07/13/2008, -2/+5Dude. It's Woz. He can do whatever the hell he wants.
- zim312, on 07/13/2008, -0/+3Just wondering.. Why the line at the apple store? why the 3-4hour wait? I was in a mall yesterday and saw the absurd line in front of the apple store.. Walked about 400ft down the mall, into an at&t store.. wow plenty of 3g Iphone's to play with and/or buy..
Whats so special about buying them in the apple store? -
