- Yashu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I didn't think ipods tasted very good, but I was wrong! I have one as a snack before lunch from the vending machine. When the guy comes to fill it, I try to get him to put more red ones in... they taste the best!

- 81v3d07g0d, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Nice to know that ipod market saturation is so complete that you can by them like candy or soda. "iSnack anyone?" Does it bother anyone else that ipod is getting to the point that now instead of saying mp3 player - kids and parents alike say "ipod" or is that because its not Microsoft thats okay. I don't know I feel like major monopoly is a bad thing for consumers, no matter who is behind it. As for me, I bought a Zen vision M 60gb, which plays xvid and divx movies by default and the 60gb has usb hosting so I can take pics off my DSLR, and I think its great probably the best out there. (Sorry for the little ad I couldn't resist I love this thing.)

I figured it cost the same anywhere you buy it and I was curious as to how the machine works. I figure it couldn't just drop the product like a candy bar, so that got me going. They kind of had it tucked away behind some clothes at Macy's.
It's cool but the novelty has worn off for me though. I hear you can get most anything from vending machines in Japan. I guess that's my next stop for Christmas presents. :D - codyman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I don't think these are really going to take off... if anything, Costco is a biggy in terms of iPod sales... right before Christmas when I went in there, people were grabbing iPods like they were going out of style (which they probably are because the iPod hasn't been updated in a while)

- vhold, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well, you gotta realize they can sell a lot more then just iPods. They have demo machines selling cosmetics, video games, sony products, general-store (aspirin, bandaids, antacids, etc).

- andrewpmk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It would suck if the credit card fraudsters catch on to this. These machines would let them buy valuable merchandise using stolen credit cards anonymously, which they could easily resell for the purchase price. Too bad that credit cards don't even have PINs.

It makes no sense. If there's an Apple Store in the mall, why need an iPod vending machine?? I don't imagine it makes much money.
