- whistlerpro, on 10/10/2007, -4/+97Usher my friend, Usher.
- axisofphilippe, on 10/10/2007, -1/+77If the 6G iPod is going to basically be an iPhone minus the phone, color me there.
- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -1/+67Today's episode of Sesame Street is brought to you by the letter 'H'.
- astrosmash, on 10/10/2007, -2/+40A touch-screen OS X iPod would open up a whole new world of iPod applications and hacking. This may be just the thing to get me to finally upgrade from my trusty 4G.
- stalefries, on 10/10/2007, -2/+36Thanks, I was trying to figure out what the title meant.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+30Why the hell can't people spell correctly when posting articles? Are these articles posted by middle school students?
If you post, SLOW DOWN AND PROOF IT before you submit. You cannot work in a professional environment and expect to make mistakes like this.
Sorry for the rant. I have just seen too many this week to keep it inside me any longer. - apologeticus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21As awesome as this would be, I buried it for the non-sensical title and the unverified sources. This is a rumor, not a confirmed announcement.
- drewfer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21I wouldn't get too worked up. Remember that iPhone they kept talking about that was suppose to be coming?
- themuffinman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+15Professional environment? Look around you, have you seen anything on this site that says anything like "professional environment?"
- Jambi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14derekknight: "Are these articles posted by middle school students?"
Yes. Yes, they are. - auxplage, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15It seems to me that there will be an update to the Nano that will look similar to the present one starting at $99. The iPod will be wide/touchscreen starting at $299.
However, I think that the current mock-up circulating around is actually a new product line starting at $199.
Maybe Apple is bringing back the Mini? - rgodfrey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I am already quite usered in, but I can't wait to user in a new iPod!
- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11I can haz a profeshunal invirohment?
/stupidity - FregTK, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Yeah...i tried to correct it by submitting a story with the correct spelling, but it wasn't promoted to the front page.
I suppose I'm *that* guy for today. - WiseWeasel, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Have you used an iPhone yet? The scroll wheel will not be missed.
- chrislee149, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6http://digg.com/apple/Don_t_Buy_an_iPod_Right_Now ?
- iCallShotgun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Amen to that.
- GreenAlien, on 10/10/2007, -0/+51) iPod with phone (iPhone)
2) iPod with large harddisk.
There's plenty room for both on the market. - mywhitenoise, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6You better not be jerking me around this time! I've been waiting for this update for nearly 2 years.
- Eccles, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Unfortunately, Usher has trademarked the word "usher", so we can't use it without paying a licensing fee.
- patthew, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Not very.
- DonCarcharo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I guess it was only a matter of time before the front page submissions were written as poorly as the majority of the comments. The IQ of this place has taken a major dip in the last year. At this rate we'll be digging up fart stories in about six months.
- sruffelman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The "derivative" versions of OS X are not any particular version such as "Tiger" or "Leopard." They are based off of the same core architecture as OS X, as in UNIX, but they are not running the applications and interfaces that separate the various big cat iterations.
- abid786, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4If it's iPhone minus the phone, it would be (in my opinion) too close to the iPhone in features to be worth selling. Since the iPhone is also marketed as an iPod ("best iPod yet"), I would think that an iPhone-minus-phone iPod might bite into iPhone sales.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Or those TV Shows in the iTunes store.
- Shorties, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3As long as it keeps the Hard Drive and hopefully have an option to get a 80-160 GBs (Basically anything bigger then the iPod they have now) I will buy it first day regardless of price. If they get rid of the Hard Drive iPod I will go out to stores and look for a 5.5G 80GB iPod.
- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Without stretching myself, it looks like a link to an article on gizmodo.com. Why? What would you explain it as?
- toetagger, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Since year 2000.
- xike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Thanks. I also was confused.
- eridius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You bought the iPhone because you wanted the iPod? I bought the iPhone because I wanted a kick-ass phone. What did you expect, that Apple wouldn't update the iPod line again?
- OHiggins, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3completely unfounded is right.
- eridius, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4I'm always amused when I see something like "..., AppleInsider can confirm." No they can't. They're not a reputable news site with confirmed sources, they're a rumor site. When I see something on there, I tend to believe it's false unless Apple actually announces it.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperlink
- TastyLamp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I really hope not. That thing looked ugly.
- abid786, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wait for the picture section. More middle school kids will start signing up to the site when that rolls around.
- zorlok, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2This guy makes a pretty good argument that the leaked nano pics enforce the rumor of a touch-screen iPod.
- http://www.clockskew.com/blog/2007/08/23/new-ipod-nano-size/ - cave, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm an Apple fanboi but I dugg you up anyways because you made me LOL :P
- subcomandante, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1lol
- ACMoxon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Exactly. Judging by Apple's marketing and product design/differentiation, I highly doubt they would opt for this (for the same reason -- cutting into iPhone sales, which are still quite strong).
- NeoRicen, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Did you just pull all of that out of your arse? Sounds like it.
- goleopards1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1*usher
- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1itrue
- OHiggins, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2If they don't want to cut into Iphone's sales, i doubt the new ipods will have wifi capabilites or any kind of communication ability. After all, it's just an iPod. And for that, the iPhone still wins.
- dogearedboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1iPhone sales are quite strong, but only for the limited market they are available to. Namely, AT&T subscribers.
- pm_richets, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm really just waiting for the chip that is implanted into my retina.
- tomis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Buried because you couldn't take the 2 seconds to read over your title and see that you forgot to type the h in Usher. Idiot.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1hmmmm must be to used to typing M$
- toetagger, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It makes sense.. and, at least he did some work to arrive at conclusions
instead of wild guessing. Very reasonable, plausible. - TastyLamp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What'$ with the dollar $ign$?
- manoftheisland, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yes but that was a new product not an expected and due update. the timing is right and the release of some new development by apple makes this very likely.
