- NathanCH, on 02/26/2009, -6/+44Looks much nicer on OSX.
- eldt, on 02/26/2009, -2/+32I've been using it for a couple days in leopard without a crash so far.
- digggggggggg, on 02/25/2009, -3/+31Well, at least they're conforming to the Windows look and feel, instead of forcing the "half-assed kinda mac looking" look and feel upon you like in every previous release.
- darthjure, on 02/26/2009, -0/+21I had forgotten how ugly Windows XP is.
- phrenzy, on 02/26/2009, -4/+22"super crashy"? Not for me on Windows OR OS X.
- freeballin, on 02/26/2009, -1/+16As usual, Safari works much better on OSX. It just kinda makes sense that way.
- Tri675SErider, on 02/26/2009, -1/+13porn has never looked so good on 15 screens!
- DavidTurnbull, on 02/26/2009, -0/+7What'd ya think Time Machine on Leopard did?
- DaemonNivas, on 02/26/2009, -0/+7I wanna see the developer who thinks that when i fire up my browser, and it automatically shows sites i surf the most is good idea. So, for example, when i need to show to my mom how to create Facebook account, first thing she sees is 10 porn sites.
- KMartSheriff, on 02/26/2009, -0/+7It's been working great for me in Windows 7 64-bit.
- srg13, on 02/26/2009, -5/+12Most applications do... Unless you're a fan of Fischer Price or frosted plastic.
- jlimon, on 02/26/2009, -0/+6You're using an unsupported hacked uxtheme.dll to use unsupported themes. They tested just fine.
- juzsp, on 02/26/2009, -0/+6Chrome - Incognito window
- CoreyTamas, on 02/26/2009, -0/+6I'll take Safari in beta before I'll take a release candidate of IE. Any time.
- kreatre2007, on 02/26/2009, -0/+6It's BETA software. Of course it's going to be buggy. I haven't had any problems at all though :)
- brett1337, on 02/26/2009, -11/+17i was all excited and scared that safari might be an option. But no thank god I can stick to my firefox fanboying ways
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -2/+7Only Microsoft copies people. When anyone else does it, it's simply "Answering to their users."
/s - MrSkills, on 02/26/2009, -1/+6Crashy and Buggy - Ouch we didn't expect that from a beta.
There fixed.
(Not that I've had problems) - KMartSheriff, on 02/26/2009, -3/+8Yes, because Chrome was the first with tabs on top and to use Webkit. *rolls eyes*
- happytedium, on 02/26/2009, -0/+5I'm loving the new Safari on OS X. It didn't even break my SafariBlock :) I'm not sure if I'd use it on my Windows install or on my desktop though, simply because from my own experience it's never as good on Windows, just as iTunes is unbearable on Windows but I love it on OS X.
- IOhBot, on 02/26/2009, -0/+4I havn't had problems either... very much like it so far.
- rwallen, on 02/26/2009, -1/+5No matter how many times I've tried, I can't get used to coverflow. It is way easier for me to browse through things with words. I like spotting things with images but it's so much faster if they are thumbnails in lists, the cover flow feel is just awful to me.
I know you can't please everyone but it just doesn't feel like a natural way to browse. - alpha88, on 02/26/2009, -1/+5The tabs on safari are better, Chrome has them on top, but it doesn't fill all the unused space, which is really the only reason tabs on top are useful.
- RobotBuddha, on 02/26/2009, -0/+4"you can't talk to people anymore without them extracting their earbud ipod syringes first."
When I'm out with them on, it's meant as much to be a sign saying I don't WANT to talk to strangers about the weather than it is for my own amusement. - Flytrap, on 02/26/2009, -0/+4Perhaps that should read:
Crashy and buggy... feels and sounds like beta software. - hermes369, on 02/26/2009, -0/+4It is a little discombobulating to have the top of the window broken up. I'm certain I'll either tweak it, or more probably get used to it as I did the Digg redesign that to which I've finally become acclimated. Mostly, I find Safari's speed is increased and being able to remove redtube and youporn from top sites is a good thing. I recommend configuring your top sites in private.
- Mr8lack, on 02/26/2009, -0/+4http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20090 ...
- kreatre2007, on 02/26/2009, -4/+8Of course it does. Everything does on Mac OS X.
- zephc, on 02/26/2009, -0/+4in the location input, at the far right - when the page has loaded, its a refresh button, when its loading, its the circular progress throbber, and when you mouseover the throbber while the page is loading, it turns into the stop loading X button.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -2/+5Actually, Linux copies heaps of stuff, but open source developers generally aren't insecure enough in their operating system choice to pretend otherwise.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -0/+3Speed dial is default in Opera...
- MightyUpsetter, on 02/26/2009, -0/+3After doing the 'hack' to get the tabs back underneath the address bar its really nice.
I'm not sure how much I am likely to use the visual bookmarks feature though - seems pretty pointless.
One thing that keeps me going back to FF is the ability to go straight to the top google search result from the address bar. For example if I type in 'guardian film' in ff and press enter it takes me straight to http://www.guardian.co.uk/film, but safari changes it to guardian%20film then tells me there is no such page and forces me to search for it. - inactive, on 02/27/2009, -1/+41) why the ***** do you want your mom on facebook?
2) if you don't want people seeing your browsing habits, use private browsing
3) if 10 of the top sites you visit really are porn, you seriously need to look at moving out of the basement - jm1234567890, on 02/26/2009, -1/+4Where's the stop/reload button? :(
- x713, on 02/26/2009, -2/+5I have really tried to like the tabs up top like on chrome, now safari, but for some reason I really like having the title bar actually fill with the title. Anyway, chrome's tabs definitely feel much better than safari, but I like that Safari's tabs stretch out.
Edit - I don't know what is up with people liking font smoothing. Most of the time it looks like I am staring at a blurry screen. Yes I use a mac. Maybe the light but even then, it cuts it pretty close. - BlueStarr, on 02/27/2009, -0/+2Has crashed on my a couple of times. The problem occurs when I'm loading up flash files.....yes, it's porn that I'm watching.
- inactive, on 02/27/2009, -0/+2Paint Phail. Hacking the system and expecting full support from apps? Oh man....
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -6/+8Topsites = Opera. See: Speed Dial
- PeanutCheeseBar, on 02/27/2009, -0/+2"As you browse the web, Safari will learn which websites are your favorites, and replace the websites above with those favorites"
So, it's going to have Digg, PornHub, Facebook, YouPorn, MySpace, RedTube, Gmail, VHO, and so on? - rptcalyptos, on 02/27/2009, -0/+2agree on the tabs, but coverflow does the trick. It would be nice if coverflow was inplemented into the tabs if you could "flip or swipe through" the tabs with coverflow action
- mktwo, on 02/26/2009, -2/+4"If Apple knows how to do anything, it's take tech you've already seen and make it flashier and more fun to use."
or they could just present basic common things that all applications are capable to do as new astounding "features".

Windows Native Look: "Safari features a native look — just like other Windows applications"
Windows Font Rendering: "Safari on Windows now uses Windows Standard fonts..." - MightyUpsetter, on 02/26/2009, -1/+3after one day....... oh dear.
- alpha88, on 02/26/2009, -0/+2Why would she be using the same user account as you?
- paulb323, on 02/26/2009, -0/+2Looks a bit like Cooliris on Firefox. will still give it a go though.
- savocado, on 02/26/2009, -0/+2Vacuum sucks!!
- Ramble, on 02/26/2009, -4/+6It's like someone mushed together Opera and Chrome and then spat on it to make it mix.
- digitalpencil, on 02/26/2009, -0/+2troll score 2/10
try harder ;( - inactive, on 02/26/2009, -2/+3More like 2001 Fisher Price look and feel.
- FredFredrickson, on 02/26/2009, -1/+2If you can't remember what it was when you bookmarked it, what was the point?
