tuaw.com — For windows users who don't know this, Safari makes one hell of a porn browser. It has a mode called "Private Browsing". It was orignally for entering secret information like credit cards because it doesn't store cookies, history, or any other thing. This is the perfect porn browser to use for your uhh.. "needs". And no one will ever find out =).

Not to mention all of the ***** trojans, popups, toolbar installers and diallers normally associated with venturing to those parts of the internet normally entails - none of it is targeted at Safari so it doesnt work.

Yeah when I have the option of just clicking on an option(Safari) or searching, downloading, and installing some plug-in which won't work when an update of the browser comes out, which one are you going to choose.

Odds are you would get caught doing the actual viewing, not afterwards. So what protection does this really offer?

This is stupid. aside from the serious security holes in Safari discovered only hours after release, the browser itself is a memory hog.
Just use firefox and the delete command. What an utterly redundant article. -

It *is* a porn browser. Everything is contained within the browser, like videos. You can even save links, pics, vids, ect in the browser itself so you don't have that random porn folder on your desktop -
Why do Windows users care about this, like the description says? This is for Mac.

If you have to hide your porn, you either live at home with your parents or you're a pussy.
Stand up to your wives, girlfriends, tell them to STFU. And trust me, whether you admit it or not, a woman who hates porn has some mental issues, as evident by other jealousy, self-esteem, or possessive/obsessive issues in your relationship. Hit the nail on the head, didn't I?

The "Porn" support for Safari is no accident.
There's a legendary, beloved employee who used to work at Apple named "Donald Deatherage"
He was arrested for having a collection of underage boy photos on his computer. But Apple employees STILL DEFEND HIM. They put up WEB PAGES to defend him, like this: http://baby.indstate.edu/msattler/_people/matt/
When Detherage got out of jail, he even went to become the editor of a popular Apple newsletter. They all STILL LOVE HIM at Apple. He's a valued resource and is still on the Apple "payroll" defending them. For example here:

Apple doesn't want to "lose" any more "valuable employees" to kiddie porn charges. So they put in features like this to protect the other Deatherage's (not yet caught) who still work there. -
Just set Firefox to clear all that data automatically upon closing and to never reopen old sessions.

Safari on Windows is ... eh. It's exactly the same as Safari on OSX. Which is good, I suppose, but only if you like Safari and MacOS font rendering, widgets, etc. Personally, I very much dislike MacOS font rendering. It looks all blurry and the fonts end up looking very large on the screen.
It doesn't try to integrate into the Windows OS look and feel at all, not even as much as FireFox does. I have no idea how Apple can claim it's faster then anything - it seems to render pages just as slowly as anything else. Maybe if the web server is on the LAN, you'd see a difference? Who knows.
I use FireFox on Linux, MacOS, and Windows. I really don't see a need to use Safari. I am guessing the only reason they released it for Windows is so you can write little web apps that work on it, which will also run on the iPhone, without having to own a Macintosh PC. -

Nice, but I just prefer to store all my Firefox profile data inside a TrueCrypt volume.

Opera allows you to delete all your former private data with a click of a button. Nothing special with Safari and it doesn't run as quick as Opera.
