- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -28/+207AH, I see... This is how Mac users right click!
- SwabTheDeck, on 10/12/2007, -3/+98More importantly, why would you need more than one processor to do this?
- noreturn, on 10/12/2007, -12/+83Really. Show me someone who can retouch two parts of a photo simultaneously, and I'll show you someone who desperately needs an MRI.
This app is a pointless endeavor. - Benjin, on 10/12/2007, -9/+72thats cool, i digg, but why would you want that?
- MrDiggDugg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+53"h4ckint0shes are also capable using two input devices .."
But apparently some people aren't capable of using their keyboards without having spastic fits. - DPowers08, on 10/12/2007, -5/+53Why? Becuase we can!
- ravitek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37Ii wwoonnddeerr wwhheenn tthheeyy wwiill hhaavvee ssuuppoorrtt ffoorr dduuaall kkeeyybbooaarrddss.
I can get essays done in half the time! - thebiscuit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35It sounds great - you could be writing on a graphics tablet while browsing the web or something.
But.....the app isn't there! It's missing from the download. Just a readme in a folder. - boobies, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30how's 'bout "TwiceMice"
- Dominatus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28I was not aware that computers were not capable of handling multiple simultaneous threads until the amazing Core 2 Duo technology!
- supdawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27I can cheat in flash games now.
- duckedtapedemon, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28what if you have dual screens?
maybe for some sort of kiosk display situation? - LowFuel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Thats right. This guy probably works for the Geeksquad as a day job.
- MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21> but why would you want that?
Duh, to play the old Lemmings game in two player mode like on the Amiga. - gammasts, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Except it doesn't support two cursors.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25well, you could make a desktop light saber game, and each cursor has a light saber and the players could, you know, fight each other... pwetty lame...
- gabebear, on 10/12/2007, -3/+20I'm guessing this is a hoax.
Getting Photoshop to recognize two mouse clicks at the same time probably isn't possible. - ravitek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Actually that'll just be two different mice controlling the same cursor. This software adds a second cursor to the screen which is independant.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Interesting. It seems like it is poorly named to me though. Dualosx could be anything.
- Ricapar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15It claims it needs the Core 2 Duo, but in the screencast, the guy is using a PowerBook G4. Anyone else notice that?
- hokkos, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15With 2 screens, 2 keyboard, 2 mice, 1 computer -> 2 computers
- bhavi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Virtual DJ . Multiple mice would rock!
- cazabam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12That's the first thing I thought. I fail to see how this has anything to do with dual core processors. Unfortunately it's not the first time I've seen stuff completely unrelated to CPUs credited to dual core technology. There's an advert on in the UK for PC World (very large retail chain) that claims dual core processors let you 'upload and download' simultaneously.
Oh my. - fknloginshit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I have always dreamt of a FPS game where I could control my dual-weapons with two mice :3
- alc0h0lic, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19"Core 2 processor technology, which allows your Mac to carry out multiple commands from two mice or graphic tablets at the same time..."
Core Solo and AMD h4ckint0shes are also capable using two input devices ... - greymarketbrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I just could not get past the hideous suck ass website. I need to go reset my eyes.
- TimmyTerbler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13@ColinChapman
That's actually a good idea. Much cheaper to dual monitor/mouse then to buy a whole second system. You might not be able to run anything too intensive, but two open documents at the same time could be easy. - MotownAvi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Something doesn't rub me right here. Besides the fact that you don't need a core2duo chip to do two mouse pointers, all affected apps would need to know about the multiple cursor inputs. Dragging would be especially hard to do, because of the interspersing of the mouse events. Which one came from which?
Plus, given that in the video both affected windows are active, I call fake. Wake me when they ship an actual binary, not just a readme. - lpse2000, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12You don't have a girlfriend...
- PeeTeeR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I wish someone had actually made the application instead of just pissing people off by putting a readme file in a dmg with no application
- steven401, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16@ ColinChapman
Why wouldn't they be able to afford a computer per child if they can afford Dual core technology? :) - cmilki, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19Why do we need to run two mice simultaneously again ?
- madoxx, on 10/12/2007, -6/+15this is the lamest piece of software ever. your mind can't focus on two separate things at once. the video was lame too. it showed the guy scrolling down a page with one mouse while moving the other mouse in circles. how many people here can tap their head while rubbing their stomach? ok now imagine trying to draw something in photoshop with the left have while playing CS with the right. you get my point. this software is useless.
- skidogallard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Same here. I don't know what the heck is up with not having the app.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+22This is awesome. It's great for graphics professionals and allows users to retouch different parts of a picture simultaneously. Hopefully they allow you to change the cursor for each mouse, just to rid the users of confusion
- chedabob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I reckon its fake. Look at the photoshop bit. Why is the blue line always below the black one? It would have to be on a separate layer, but in photoshop, you can only draw on one layer at a time.
Looks like some lame-ass digital compositing. - Jonas1982, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9It would be cool for a touchpad on a laptop.
- Knoton, on 10/12/2007, -3/+92 Wiimotes + GlovePIE FTW!
- ModernGeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6How is is based on the "Dual Core 2" processor technology (Does he mean Core 2 Duo?), when a single processor can still handle multiple threads at once? Besides, the program running this is a single core PowerBook G4. *comic guy stance* Worst Reporting Ever!
- slickto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@colinchapman: Yes, thats a nice idea! After thinking about it for a second (which is way longer than some of the responders here can do), I too can find a few useful scenarios. I don't know how many times I've asked someone to "move over" so I could take control of the mouse to show them something, or project collaboration, etc. It's too bad you have to get dugg down here, just for stating your opinion. I'll digg ya!
- brianbennett, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8That video did a pretty good job of demonstrating just how pointless (no pun intended) this software is.
- Yoweigh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"The program is based on the Dual Core 2 processor technology"
ZOMG DULE COREZ!!!!
That is total *****. - dhulser, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8anyone else picture two mice running on one of those little wheels?
maybe not... - drizek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Exactly, ive seen linux setups that had three monitors/three mice/three keyboards hooked up to one computer so that 3 people can be browisng the web at the same time. However, it was running on a P3, not a core 2 duo. Having dual processors is entirely irrelevant.
- TheTrueAPlus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7FAKE! There is no real way for this to happen. The operating system sends the messages to the windows for the mouse. What about layering the windows? If you click on one window to get the one behind it, that can't happen. Any one notice Dual Core 2 processor, not intel? What about the Photoshop? Two separate colors, when those mice only have one button and photoshop only allows one foreground color...
- lampiaio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6pop-pop from Ambrosia (http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/pop-pop/ )supports using two mice for two-player mode.
- sorahn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5duality would be a better name, and wouldnt have to change if/when they release it for windows.
What would really be cool is if they could make the second pointing device the other way around. so you dont get them confused - bobgb4, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11video:
http://www.dualosx.com/dualosx.html - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5When I read "run two mice," I expected something more like this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DN_Zs8ubf1s
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I agree with the useless part, but if you plug 2 mice in, they'll both control the same cursor which isn't the same as this thing.
