  • gbusse, on 06/27/2008, -1/+2When is Canada going to get with the times for cell/data rates! I know I am dreaming but In a perfect world I would like one monthly rate allowing unlimited data and local voice calls.

    I am hoping that Shaw gets into the cell game soon and offers a wifi package add-on for Shaw phone that would allow me to use my wifi phone as my "one and only" phone where when I am home the phone uses wi-fi to connect through my Shaw phone connection and when I am out it works over the cell system but I only would pay one flat monthly rate as I currently do for my Shaw phone service.

  • clith, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2People have been phoning Fido and at least one person has been told that it will be possible to buy an iPhone without a data plan through Fido. So maybe that's the way to go. No 3G, but there's always WiFi until the data plan rates come down, or you move to another country.

      Although ifs its branded with Rogers ***** im gonna be PISSED!
  • sadmirh, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2This is just crazy, There should be laws against charging this crazy prices, I and my family will stick with my 1st iPhone, I was going to get 5 for us, but now we'll just keep the old one, and I'll buy the 3G iPhone on eBay or something, Rogers is not getting any more of my money .

    1) Geographical size (Canada is about 30% larger than the United States)
    2) Small population (we have 10% of the US population)
    3) Incompatible networks

    Don't get me wrong, i ***** hate rogers; but Canada is still in the dark ages of this whole mobile data rates thing. Just saying.
