- weprin, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12Updates happen all the time. Why the ***** is this front page news?
- Burmask, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Whopptie Freaking Doo!
- Greyarea, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"If it was a Windows exploit, it would be treated as front page news."
Er, no, it wouldn't, because it would be just another Windows exploit. People are bored of Windows exploits because there's one along every 23 minutes or so.
And no-one has ever said that MacOSX is perfect and flawless - why else would we get Security Updates every month or so? It has holes as well, and they get patched. Life goes on. The big difference is that (so far) the holes in MacOSX don't allow someone in Russbekistan to remotely install an SMTP server and use your machine for Spam posting like, oh, say, Windows does. - Vergeh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5This just in: Mac releases a security patch. Millions applaud.
In other news: Person goes to corner store. Buys pack of gum. Riot ensues. Film at 11. - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6If it was a Windows exploit, it would be treated as front page news.
But doesnt anyone find it odd that THIS is the only type of Apple story that the fankids dont care about seeing on the front page? - flag564, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6"cue some random windows user to make witless apple fanboy comment "
You say that as if almost every windows story that gets to the front page isnt littered with the same types of comments from Apple zealots. - theamazingboo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6ahh the apple section. where negative diggs rule the land.
- JGuest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How dare you ask a legitimate question on a bash thread.... I had to re-read your comment twice
- jimvwmoss, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8You can imagine it cant you, browsing an amateur porn site and seeing images of yourself stop-motion w**king in your study! I'm updating NOW!!!!
- MrMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3This was funny the first... 8 times people posted it?
No.
Now go STFU and copy another person's more 'original' comment. - fanboydcs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2is this the myspace / quicktime problem?
- Burmask, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9Shhh- It's apple news.
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Sorry pero, that's about as clever as ol naio gets
- MrMacMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no its not the myspace problem. this is the isight one
- pero69, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that's been "fixed" for a while now.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
check the options. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4MacParrot, my "crApple is a ***** company." slogan may not be creative, but always get responses from pissed fanboys. So I always get what I want.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Indeed. Let's digg this article to the sky!
- nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4It's probably because the vulnerability itself received so much attention.
troll> It's because a vuln in OS X is a rare occurrence, whereas on Windows they're exposed daily. - Greyarea, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3"But doesnt anyone find it odd that THIS is the only type of Apple story that the fankids dont care about seeing on the front page?"
Oh come off it flag, you're the biggest Apple fankid here! - uownedge, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5Cool! I'm glad to see the issue is resolved.
- Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3To be fair, that's only ever happened to Windows users (afaik).
(I'm not being a Windows anti-fanboy here; I don't like the idea of a not-in-use webcam pointing at me whatever OS I'm using.) - MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Soooo, doing the exact same thing that idiot fanboys do is your justification for also being an idiot?
- pero69, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If the response that you're looking for is people making fun of you, then I say press forward.
- brianez21, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The previous solution was to use Firefox (incompatible with the "hack"), although I like both browsers very much.
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2If what you want is to be a moron, then yeah, I guess you do. Congrats!
- MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3@ bias
HAHAHA! No matter how many thousands of times I hear that from the same losers, it's still just as funny - MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Seth, relax. It's an update. The MS crowd is so used to seeing it with Windows that when it happens most people just go "feh" another exploit.
Just kidding. Most so called "exploits" on Windows are no big deal if you use common sense. Use whichever OS suits you best and STFU - longofest, on 10/12/2007, -11/+10http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/12/20061219170622.shtml
If you aren't applying the update, I'd put a piece of tape over your built-in iSight if I were you... - Sethwm2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Just did the update. I think that it took them long enough to get this update. This brings me back to my talk about the holes that company is going to find in the Mac OS. Ok I have to reboot update done
- pero69, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3ROTFLMAO
***** that's creative.... crApple
you rock! - utdrew182, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2have they fixed the problem where I have to install iTunes if I want quicktime, If microsoft tried some ***** like that it would be a class action lawsuit.
- mbthompson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Don't update, Apple is perfect! And you spent lots of money to be reminded of how much better you are than everyone else! This is just FUD from Microsoft!!!
- bias, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4no, it's microsoft FUD. shhh...
- Gottschalk, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3MS FUD = Apple fixing exploit?
Wow, they have gotten really ***** at FUD. - MacParrot, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1And now that you've admitted it, don't you feel better?
- bias, on 10/12/2007, -12/+10lol what do you expect, at least we are just making witless comments. you fanboys make up witless articles to spam digg all day long plus witless comments.
- Greyarea, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4How long have you suffered from this paranoia, bias?
- Sethwm2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0You talking ***** about Apple yet I think if you look you will find that there are way more issues with Microsoft than Apple. My guess, but this is just my guess you are talking about a company you have never used there products. Oh and if you use Linux you should be happy for the people that are using Macs rather than Windows.
- Greyarea, on 10/12/2007, -13/+9Well duh! It's *obviously* Steve Ballmer's fault.
I'm...I'm not sure *how* exactly, but it must be. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4crApple is a ***** company.
- bias, on 10/12/2007, -12/+6It's Bill Gates' fault.
- gregdigg, on 10/12/2007, -15/+7cue some random windows user to make witless apple fanboy comment in... oh, wait. too late.
- livejamie, on 10/12/2007, -22/+8cue the apple fanbois to blame this on windows in 5...
- bias, on 10/12/2007, -27/+12Don't update! Apple is PERFECT and have no vulnerabilities. This is just Microsoft's FUD.
