Pwnage iPhone Hacking Tool Now Available and Tested

gizmodo.com — After some delays, the iPhone Pwnage tool—which is used to flash your iPhone with hacked firmware that will allow you to run any application, use it unlocked in any compatible cellphone network, and do whatever you want do to with it, is now available for download. We have been testing this and previous versions for a few weeks now and it works.

Besides if you request a phone unlock the company has to comply legally. Apple has failed to do so therefore hackers are taking it into their own hands.

    1. Get the ipod into recovery mode. With itunes open, hold both the buttons down for ten seconds, then let go of the sleep button while still holding down the home button. after a few seconds, recovery mode will kick in. Get your ipod all Factory Fresh.
    2. Download the *ipod* 1.1.4 ipsw, not the iphone one. I don't have a url handy but search around.
    3. Run the pwnage tool with the ipod ipsw and then the ipwnr.

    AT&T is the exclusive wireless carrier for iPhone in the United States. If you currently use another wireless carrier, you can choose to transfer your number when you activate your AT&T account.

    Sounds to me like the phone is sold with an agreement. They made a big-money deal that is restrictive to customers and probably really annoying but they are clear in their statement, so my opinion stands - it is like stealing. But thanks for providing a thoughtful reply.
