- OpenFuture, on 10/11/2007, -13/+156There was no fire, thats just what happens after your render 2 hours of video. ; )
- netburnr, on 10/11/2007, -2/+105Wow...just wow.
Someone blogs about their mac burning up. Some other blog takes a couple pictures from the site and posts it. Then a 3rd blog takes one of those images and a little text and submits it to digg.

//Marked as blog spam - Shuk, on 10/11/2007, -4/+73Yum. Apple Pie.
- trghpy, on 10/11/2007, -5/+54The burn patterns are just plain cool like the plastic melted, boiled and then the gasses probably ignited.
Anyone else think it looks like peanut butter and chocolate? This picture is making me hungry. - miles01110, on 10/11/2007, -27/+74Cause of the fire??
coughMacbookcough - chris9902, on 10/11/2007, -7/+50now it looks like a dell.
- TimmyGUNZ, on 10/11/2007, -4/+37I'm in the mood for some apple crisp. Anyone else?

- hydratedsquash, on 10/11/2007, -6/+36Looks like a dessert of some sort.
- AtheistAcolyte, on 10/11/2007, -7/+23Ridiculous! Everyone knows the materials in a Macbook can't possibly scorch in the time allotted in such a low-intensity fire! I suspect the government set thermite out and controlled the demolishing of this laptop to support their already-laid-out plans for eternal Microsoft contracts in government offices!
- Cyber_Akuma, on 10/11/2007, -8/+23It defiantely can't run Linux now.
- LeeVal, on 10/11/2007, -4/+17when you load windows vista on a macbook
- xGrill, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12if you squint you're eyes, you can kinda still see the apple logo
- Tmacman, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11On the video, the homeowners are talking to the fire department inspector, while the wife is holding the video camera asks " what do we do the next time?" (they have a fire.)
What are they a couple of pyros? - Darmichar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11What else do you expect from msaleem? He finally quit submitting his own crap blogs.
This must be a friends blog who is going to return the favor by submitting one of msaleem's. - CanadaMan87, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10@tehpwnrate
Macbooks' cases are made of plastic. Mystery solved. - Cyber_Akuma, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9At first I was thinking "They accidently uploaded a picture of a Cinnabon Roll instead"
Then I thought "Oh Wait..." - OneManArmy, on 10/11/2007, -13/+21Say all you want about TUAW but this submission is blog spam. The TUWA article is 5 lines long and just links to the photo..WTF
Anyway, here is the original link

EDIT: beat by netburnr. see below. - Darmichar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8So if you approach it with a *nix CD it lashes out, or did you mean 'definitely'?
- knobtwiddler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4that macbook was actually 2 blocks away, and burst into flame later that afternoon on its own, as the BBC reported 15 minutes before it actually happened.
what, you're not a TERRORIST, are you???? you belong in a fema camp. - Lane, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5i always figured macbooks were forged on a hearth like some kind of a samurai sword but i guess this takes care of that.
- Renton, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I remember back in the day, the plastic macs were made out of contained fire retardant. Then they started yellowing, so they got rid of that...
- themastersb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Just a little hot sauce and it's ready to eat.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@Cyber_Akuma

- roostishaw, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@msaleem
Thank you for not putting "COOL PICTURE:" in all caps in the title. +digg - semiotix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Cool mod. They should post a how-to video so we can all trick out our Macbooks that way.
- RadioFreeOpium, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6looks like the aerial view of a crop circle. Kind of.
- chorne, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4Just as I like 'em. Well done.
- techweenie1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1it looks like *****...yes lets digg everyone down for saying it looks like *****...lame
- AndrewDB, on 01/10/2008, -2/+3Interesting, it looks a lot like the apple pie I cooked the other night.
- reverb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This Digg story goes to the original blog entry at gwen.zaadz.com:
http://digg.com/apple/MacBook_Fire_Pizza_Looking_Thing - np374, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4Looks like grandma's casserole.
- gaucho4, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Pardon the pun, but it really does look like apple crisp.
- theduke25, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Thats one way to not pay extra for a black one
- paris75, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1No doubt Applecare will look after them. A bit of elbow grease and it will be as good as new.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Gross! I think I'm gonna be sick!
- jstene, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Macbook Casserole anyone?
- arenas46, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1It looks like a cookie cake...
- rouslan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1One thing I don't understand is why does Apple make engineering mistakes on such simple components as PSUs-I'm not talking about complex motherboards or anything. For example, I recall an article about how the wires in the charging cable of iPods were too thin, which melted the insulation and introduced a fire risk-why not increase the cross-section of the wires? Every designer should take in ~20% extra specifications in case of defects, tolerances, etc. For example, a 25V capacitor should be chosen even if the maximum voltage the capacitor will have is 20.
- mal1964, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Looks more like what a 550 degree fire would do.
- Takuro, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I opened this story in a browser tab and forgot what it was about. I looked at the picture and said to myself, "wow that looks like a good marble cake." Erm... yeah.
- schneb, on 10/11/2007, -4/+4Apple Crisp - I like that.
- PDelahanty, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Thank you for posting the link to the original. Saves me the trouble of clicking through a bazillion pages. :)
- psalamone, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Hey ya'll, thanks for the Diggs! We are now selling this thing in order to raise some money to help get everyone back on their feet. Peep it:

- DigitalJester, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2IBM > Apple.
The video that IBM produced showed a Thinkpad in a fire THEN in some water. Omfg!
Well, it is a corporate video so the thinkpad was probably actually toast. On the other hand, thinkpads are extremely sturdy.
heh. -
