Photoshop CS3 shaping up for March release
notes.thinksecret.com — Sources familiar with the development of Adobe's next version of Photoshop report that Adobe has ramped up the release of development builds and that a ship date could come as early as the end of March, in line with Apple's release of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

- digg it
- xatx, on 10/12/2007, -45/+3march? hurry the ***** up already...
- Smeed, on 10/12/2007, -4/+54Hurry the ***** up and what? Have an unstable release and loose a project right before the deadline?
- xatx, on 10/12/2007, -59/+5look at ps cs2, we waited for that and it still was a piece of *****. and were stuck with it til the next. as much as i hate it, its invaluable. cant live with it, cant live without it. and god forbid it should be released to windows users before the apple fanboys....woooooh cant have that.
- npsken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+47Exactly how was CS2 a p.o.s.? I found it to be really good.
- MacIsTehBest, on 10/12/2007, -17/+8cant wait to pirate it...
- drewhenson, on 10/12/2007, -14/+7*****, and I just learned how to use CS2
/shakes fist at adobe - ThreeDee912, on 10/12/2007, -14/+2I guess Windows users are used to having all of their software being released first. Adobe usually makes their software for Mac, then they release a Windows version.
Wait, you really can't live without a P.O.S.? - TiKoZ, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23@ xatx:
"look at ps cs2" looking..
"we waited" talk about yourself..
"it still was a piece of *****" who said?
"and were stuck with it til the next." use gimp if you don't like it, great for... well nothing, but u can still use it anyway.. you don't seem to be doing a lot with photoshop anyways.
"as much as i hate it, its invaluable. cant live with it, cant live without it." get a life, get a life.
"and god forbid it should be released to windows users before the apple fanboys....woooooh cant have that." the windows has "users" n the mac has "fanboys", fair comparison (windows user btw)..
anyway the conclusion.. ***** OFF! - Empyrean, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Guess xatx is still running PS7 on WinME.
- gboodhoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17@xatx
"a piece of *****?" compared to what - the GIMP? You make me laugh little boy. For my colleagues and I its a useful tool for turning pixels into cash on time, on budget. For you, its just another 3l33t piece of software you have no use for but downloaded anyway because you have to have the latest everything. Everything except a clue that is. - headswine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I found CS2 to be so slow and cumbersome I went back the CS1. But CS3 has great speed improvements and the UI is back to being usable.
- mateo60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So far, I really like CS3 on my Mac. I've only been using it for a few days.......saving multiple copies of my work often. To me, the slight risk of losing something is worth the headache of running CS2 from Rosetta in OS X. Its so much faster and much less painful.......so far.
Now for Illustrator and Dreamweaver and I'm set. - bludo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm using CS3 beta in production and it's rock solid. Seems more stable then CS2.
I think it's the best realease since... PS7 - xatx, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1ill reply to you later
- iEnigma, on 10/12/2007, -32/+6I got the beta for free already...
- anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Good for you. Have a cookie.
- pavvy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lucky...
/sarcasm - Lux7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Photoshop always costs a lot of money.
I sure hope its not OVER NINE THOUSAND!
- HUKI365, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9So are they basising Leopard's release date on the earlier Digg article? 'cause that was flimsy at best.
- eric123abacus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12"basising" lol
- pants428, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11The beta is pretty fast on an Intel Mac, but there is a bug that causes brushes to not display correctly... It's pretty frustrating..
- AttackingHobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Are you sure its a bug, because if for some reason you photoshop is in precision mode it will only show the middle of the brush and not the preview.
I SWEAR THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN TO ME AND I SWEAR IT DIDN'T TAKE FOUR HOURS TO FIX.
- AttackingHobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Are you sure its a bug, because if for some reason you photoshop is in precision mode it will only show the middle of the brush and not the preview.
- ctp2nd, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Photoshop CS3, Mac OS X 10.5, Adobe's Apollo
March Madness, St. Pattie's Day, and Spring Break
March is looking pretty damn nice- ThreeDee912, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7May the luck O teh Irish be with ye!
- thexder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Beware the ides of March
- estomped, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Great, can't wait to get my hands on the new Flash CS3
- ColinCampbell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I'm absolutely dying to get my hands on Flash CS3. Flash 8 on Intel Mac OS X is ***** killing me.
- Muzz27, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Looks like Apple and Adobe are conspiring to bankrupt me by March 31st.
- dennytang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Meanwhile, an unconfirmed report from a recent tipster puts the release date for Photoshop CS3 on March 27, based on internal communications."
How creditable is this article? All it says is that a "tipster" told them about the release date. I'm not too familiar with thinksecret.com, but whether this rumor was from a credible tipster or just a rumor started by thinksecret.com is still a mystery. - z1freeride, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12sweet... soon i'll be able to afford CS2.
- SkittlesUSA, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10You already can...
http://www.digg.com/software/Photoshop_CS2_Download_Crack_Keygen - iEnigma, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13There's a crack for the CS3 beta too...
*Digg downs coming*
- SkittlesUSA, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10You already can...
- netzdamon, on 10/12/2007, -14/+6gimp
- anjinash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Hey, no need for name calling.
- stalefries, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Who are you calling a gimp?
- gboodhoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The Gimp isn't a professional tool, but is certainly suitable for hobbyists with a masochistic streak.
- mrfx2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4hope it comes in 64bit
- Muzz27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think I read somewhere that CS3 won't be 64 bit. :(
- Rice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Leopard? iLife and iWork? CS3?
Holy crap! Woo! It's gonna be a fun spring!- unmarked, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's also going to be an expensive spring (what with all the upgrades) :-)
- mntpng, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's going to be very interesting to benchmark CS3 on Leopard vs. CS3 on Vista. It's possible to do this on an identical hardware for the first time ever. I look forward to seeing the numbers...
- edm1950, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I wish they'd drop out of the Apple/M$ cabal and offer a linux version again.
- superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3they could do a version for the PS3 too!! it IS a personal computer ya know o.0
- balerhgae, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3YAY!
2 NEW FEATURES! FOR ONLY 300 BUCKS for an UPGRADE! WHOHOO!- ryansinn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's actually $169 for an upgrade...
- ryansinn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it's actually $169 for an upgrade...
- DonCarcharo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Isn't Photoshop typically released in concert with the Creative suite as of late? Although I've heard a bunch about PS (most likely due to the Intel Mac performance issues) I haven't heard much about the rest of the suite and I assumed they'd all be released at once. I know there's a closed Dreamweaver beta, I know GoLive is no longer a member of the club, but I haven't heard much about Flash and I've heard pretty much nothing at all about Illustrator or InDesign.
Anyone have any details? - zcondren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i disagree on the March release I would put money on that they wait until the NAB show in April to release it.
- robogobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've been using CS3 beta in production for months now. A few flaws but very impressive. By far the best RAW handling to date. It was such a great idea to release a public beta. It gives me the utmost confidence that an already great product will be speedy and extremely worth the $. I consider it a mandatory upgrade to what I call my Photoshop OS. I can't wait.
- Xisting, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The ability to actually *do* something with 32bit images inside Photoshop is what I'm really excited about. CS3 has made a full float OpenEXR workflow more feasible, and I really appreciate it.
- chompers66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1PS3 runs great on Windows for me, but Bridge still needs some work.
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Time to buy ADBE stock.
- blastin311, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I heard, through a source that works close with Adobe, that the CS3 suite will be out around June. Just what I heard recently and thought I would share that.
- CheapDigWannbe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You mean I will have to upgrade my perfectly stable and working cracked CS3 Beta version?
- Lust4Maggie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I don't care about Photoshop. I care about the whole freakin' suite.
- xaerius, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Which CS version will be compatible with Linux, Adobe?
- ryansinn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0So now that Mac OS X supports Intel processors... when are we going to see a Linux release? That's what I'm waiting for... I'll shell out the $600 USD.
- bossmanthe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hopefully they have changed more than just the icon colour for this release!
- bossmanthe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hopefully they have added some new features. Pretty sick of some minor new features and some icon changes for the price of a full piece of software.
- AceTracer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So Adobe is releasing it when they said they would release it 2 years ago, following the same release cycle they've always had. I don't know why people expected any different.
- oktobr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Vendor releases major upgrade to product on schedule...that alone would be newsworthy.
- aliguana, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1brilliant - I'm a fan of the new Bridge, the old one was a klanking kranking crock.
- shockingbird, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed. It's painfully slow.
- trendy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1not like TS has been accurate about anything in the last 18 months or so, but if they write up already-known news, i bet it boots their credibility, so when they write xxxx next time, people still believe them...no idea why people still read it...it's amusing i guess.
Check out the new & improved
