:) - l0ne, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Readaptations of the picture captions in English.
1. Again this year, San Francisco welcomes the Mac world. These are iPod shuffle ads, which are plastered everywhere in town.
2. The southern entrance to Moscone Center. In the glasses, we see reflections of the SF downtown skyscrapers.
3. This seems to be the recurring theme of Macworld Expo, the "thirty years of Apple" banners.
4. As soon as you get inside, you can find out that the next Macworld will be in the third week of January rather than the second. The concurrency of Macworld with CES had to be resolved somehow.
5. Apple's banners are everywhere inside. These stairs lead down to the expo floor.
6. The dawn of a new Apple? Let's see...
7. Three days from the fair's opening, stands are still being constructed.
8. The black fort is Apple's stand. Security's at its height there. Nobody gets to know what's inside, not even other expositors.
9. Apple conceals what's new with black drapes.
10. The layout of Apple's stand is brand new; the theatre is not in the center, but in one of the corners of the stand.
11. The barricade prevents us from getting near; there's a single opening with security and a computer with the list of personnel with access.
12. It would be too much to hope that one of the drapes falls down, revealing some of the big news. Our hands itch with such teasing. We have to hold ourselves, though. - bittered, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Since nobodys bothered to take the time to debunk your comment yet, I thought that I'd have a go
X-Ray cameras? Have you seen one before? Firstly they're not exactly point and click, portable versions of these things are massive ftp://ftp.xray.mpe.mpg.de/abrixas/images/ohb/DQM_5.jpg . Secondly (and most importantly) You can't transmit sufficient X-ray beams from that far away. There are other reasons why this isn't possible also but I think that I've provided enough.
An IR camera wont shoot through thick black cloth. Some very good IR cameras have been known to shoot through thin black objects such as nylon (swimsuit material). There is no way that it would even come close to breaking through that cloth. - timdafweak, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Have ordered my first MBP just a few days earlier (finally made the jump from Windows to Mac), should've probably waited till this conference. A speed bump/Hardware upgrades would make my ordered (but not yet delivered MBP) obsolete even before I can get my hands on it.
I did have a talk with the sales Rep at the Apple Store in the NL, who was insistent that there is a new Product being announced in the Expo... but what it is, she didn't know... would be added on the Apple Store at 09:00 CET. Darn ;) Just can't wait... - nofxjunkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Geeks and nerds are different. Kevin Rose is a geek. Many of us are geeks. Fewer of us are nerds. Nerd implies that the person is a loner or socially inept.
- williamw, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16The photos don't show much but their teaser image. Still very excited though.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I wish people would get it right.
It's "microsoft fanboy" and "apple zealot".
Sheesh, kids these days. - timdafweak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Indeed m8, it was an impulse decision, uninformed really. Well, can't change it, might as well enjoy the ride.
- DeflatorMouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think the banners say "Apple // Forever!"
- cmattogno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5If one was so inclined, this could be used.
The classic style vibrator that syncs with your iPod (appropriately $69)

Steve Jobs is completely in his underwear?
*rough translation* - vare2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Thanks, that was very useful
(: - killerofkiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2kevin announced in the new diggnation he would give his current blackbook to someone at the live taping if they announce a new macbook
- iJump, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't think so. It appears to be the dealmac logo ( http://dealmac.com/ )
- Ramble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Not to mention even if you got to see the banner underneath you wouldn't be able to see any ink..
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6timdafweak, don't worry, if Apple does update the MBP at Macworld, just give them a nice friendly call, they'll exchange it for an updated version. Trust me, they do these kind of things if it's a matter of a few days.
Found somewhere on the web:
"Apple USA and UK both offer upgrade protection, which means the stores will fulfill your order with the most current version available; if the version changes between you placing your order and shipment, you’ll be asked to confirm your order. " - joel8x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They just updated the Macbook Pros and Macbooks recently. You have nothing to worry about there. MWSF is usually about software and new stuff (at least in the last few years). The only Mac that really needs an upgrade is the Mini. I would like to see the introduction of a 12" Powerbook replacement though :)
- timdafweak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lol thanks for that link hotdamn and for the info DelMonte ;)
Ouchie, 2 weeks! Past the 14 day return-back-no-questions-asked-refund timeline.. ;) since mine has not yet been delivered and the 9th is just 2 days away, I think I'd exchange it...
But Powerbooks, ah, my ex had one, and that's how i fell in love with the Mac... Beautiful machines indeed - Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"The first 30 years were just the beginning. - Welcome to 2007."
That's an awesome slogan! - Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you're right, hmmm, I wonder, I guess we'll just have to wait till Tuesday to find out. I'm so excited! :P
- Justin6512, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1don't see any boxes labeled apple phone, or new iPod, or "Top Secret"
guess I'll just have to wait till tuesday. - beijingdave, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To be on the expo floor during the keynote is hilarious because a flurry of workers in the Apple booth unveil the respective posters/banners in sync with Steve making announcements during the keynote. By the end, they drop the black from the rest of the booth.
- bubba9er, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1google translate only takes you so far :(
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A buddy of mine who works for a print shop just grabbed a flyer for me. Looks like Apple is going to announce some kind of contest or something at MacWorld:
http://www.marilyncarolyn.com/macworld.html - thechise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1grazie!
- sakuraz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2.....English Please?
- l0ne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bubba: see above.
- kinz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The bottom right photo has a sign that says "****ealmac" Could be the name of a new product? "realmac"?
- moofer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Just shut your mouth, nerd."
Nerd is not a 4-letter word, it's a 6 figure salary. - NoRemorse, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Picture number 3 makes it seem like their either launching some new movie based product or a their new os. The banner itself has that leopard feeling along with the lightning effects made famous from a huge number of movies. So it's just a qualified guess based on their banner-designs. But I think I might be right.
What do you people think? - DeezKnots, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Maybe next time.
- moofer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't understand why someone would gamble their job for such vague images. Cameras are not allowed in there prior to showtime. Whoever snapped these photos isn't that bright.
- rodrigo74, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1You should set up a nice site asking for donations, if you pitch it right you probably would convince 2600 people to donate a buck to you
- McZiggz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The teaser pic was on http://sharemacworld.com a few days ago.
If you want to keep up with the event you should bookmark the site.
People will be using their camera phones to take pictures during all of Macworld (even live from the Keynote) and they can share them in real time. Everyone will be able to see an ongoing timeline of events from the whole week, through the eyes of many different people. - nerone, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2yes, SetteB.it is a very good website!
Italiani campioni del mondo!
;-) - l0ne, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Just because they're English-speaking doesn't mean they aren't Italian -- http://infinite-labs.net was dugg some time ago :)
- mikehorn, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Link won't load, digg effect? Doesn't work through duggmirror either.
- jmahler, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Che fortuna, finalement un sito web in italiano!
I'm spending a study abroad year in Bologna, Italy. And this is the first italian website I've seen on digg. - haydesigner, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4@DelMonte: "They should've used an infra-red camera to take pictures of the covered banners."
Yeah, since we all have one, and carry it around everywhere we go.
Whadda infra-maroon. - itswoody, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2expositors... never heard that word before
- DeflatorMouse, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1[blanked]
- noseeme, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5An insider told me they will be introducing these three products:
iPhone (Not to be called the iPhone though)
iTablet (To be called "MacBook Write")
iPlug (a white vibrating sphincter stimulator)
Yes. :) - sofabum, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Its like being told the ending of the film before you've seen it.
I prefer to wait and just find out what actually happens on the day, rather than wading through hundreds of peoples speculations. Who cares if they are right or wrong? Is that so bad? I like surprises once in a while.
Buried as lame. Where is the real news for which Digg is becoming famous? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Even speaking as a definite NON mac fanboy, I can't believe that timdafweak made such a stupid decision! 1 more week wouldn't have killed him
- CptZap, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2@FinalSolution
Most people prefer the word "Geek". - macinbest, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4http://duggmirror.com/
- joel8x, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Your post is a dupe: http://digg.com/apple/APPLE_APPLE_APPLE_APPLE_APPLE_APPLE
- DelMonte, on 10/12/2007, -20/+13They should've used an infra-red camera to take pictures of the covered banners. Some cloth, even black, becomes transparent when seen with an IR camera. (And obviously, it can be useful to see through other kind of clothes...)
