ZOMG ITS SOOOO HOMOSEXUAL - Steaminx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27Isn't an infinite loop a circle?
- MeltedUFO, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Dear Lord!!! A website bomb!!
- Sornos, on 10/12/2007, -5/+18But a circle has two sides. A Moebius Strip has one.
- rabidg00se, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Technically, a circle has no sides. ;-)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14OMZG an apple employee made a sculpture. lets add more to the apple fanboy stereotype and toss this random picture of some metal onto the front page of digg.
- seattle98104, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9All those photos of Maddy were distracting, forgot what I was supposed to be looking at ...
- blaze03, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Buried as inaccurate.
Seeing as the sculpture has nothing to do with Infinite Loop, is not called "Infinite Loop", is not located on Infinite Loop street, and was not sculpted by an Apple employee or anyone remotely related to Apple. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6It's not a Möbius strip. The Möbius strip is a two-dimensional compact manifold (i.e. a surface) with boundary. Basically a strip of paper than has been rotated and taped to itself. If you put an ant on a Möbius strip it could walk all the way around on one side and end up on the opposite "face". This object has 3 sides, so it's not one.

- exilio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The loop is real - the location it is in is fake. The city of Cupertino paid $50,000 for that thing and it sits at the corner of De Anza Blvd and Stevens Creek Rd. –– A stones throw from Apple's main offices -- although I am not sure there is any intended connection.
- cepultura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Funny, I work on this corner..
The stainless steel sculpture, Perspectives, was created by the well-known artist Roger Berry. The sculpture is fixed to its base but is ever changing as one walks around it allowing it to frame the buildings, the Santa Cruz mountain range or the delicate fountains. http://www.cupertino.org/cupertino_living/cupertino_411/cali_mill_plaza/index.asp - ZManNate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@ fizasist
Missing a semi-colon.
"No loop for you! NEXT!"
-C++ - raisinbrainMMM, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Yeah, I seriously doubt this would have made the front page without the "Apple employee" description. It's not really that special of a sculpture to begin with. ??
- utcursch, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Some more photos here:

The structure is situated two blocks south of Apple HQ at Infinite Loop, on the corner of De Anza Boulevard and Stevens Creek.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_Loop_(street) - TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4There's plenty of infinate loops.
http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=circle&btnG=Search+Images - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4proof that any digg story wich has the word 'apple' mentioned anywhere will get hundreds of diggs...
but whatever, its pretty cool :) - fizasist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3how about this:
int x = 0
while( x < 5 ){
print x;
x++;
} - Ellsass, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3@DTJunkie07
It's a terrorist's bomb. Quick, duck! - cbabraham, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3this doesnt look like a mobius strip....i traced it around and it doesnt twist anywhere
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4So is the pigeon!
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Heh, I'd be more impressed if it was a CGI statue..
- Ben - nathos, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Technically, a circle has *infinite* sides
- CCB0x45, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I work at Apple and have never seen this sculpture before(still don't know where it is at the corner)... ill have to look for it now. Funny it took diggers around the world to show me where a statue is on a street I drive on every day.
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5This sculpture will come to symbolize Apple vs. Cisco negotiations.
- OmBass, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the scuplture in the Cupertino City Center courtyard or something like that. There's "City of Cupertino" signs right by it. I dont think its related to Apple, but I could be wrong. However, i sorta do see the connention w/the whole Infinite Loop thing...
I always just thought it was a cool sculpture :) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6the girl is cute.
- javajunkee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've always like this Moebius Strip - (sorry, unable to directly link)
http://www.mcescher.com/
Then go to: 'Picture Gallery > Recognition and Success 1955-1972 > Moebius Strip II 1963 woodcut in red, black and grey-green, printed from 3 blocks
" So let us then try to climb the mountain, not by stepping on what is below us, but to pull us up at what is above us, for my part at the stars; amen"
- M.C. Escher - Archangel621, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Seriously. Those Maddy pics were much more interesting.
- ubercaff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I work at the Starbucks right next to that thing. Its kinda cool looking. I wouldnt call it an "infinite loop," nor do I understand where thay reference came from. Maybe its just because I see it everyday.
- itseffinkasey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Forget the loop structure, that chick is pretty hot!
- codeWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1So, since I'm actually near there today (clearly not getting much done) I decided to take a break and take a few pictures to show that Perspectives is still there, about a mile away from Infinite Loop, and totally unrelated to Apple, at the corner of Steven's Creek and De Anza. A picture's worth a thousand words in all uppercase. And me without my polarizer:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/codeworm/sets/72157594516369187/ - Sprules04, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Aren't all loops infinite? Thus making them loops? Seems redundant to me.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3http://duggmirror.com//apple/Photograph_Infinite_Loop/plain.html
- Kailash.Nadh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The wow's yet to come.
- Easty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Hehe, I love the pigeon perched on top.
- UrlorJkron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's the Apple employee's infinite loop:
for( i=1; i - Tlogmer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A circle has two sides if you make it the same way you make a mobius strip (that is, make it out of a two-dimensional sheet). To put it another way, the two sides of a circle are the inside and outside; a mobius strip only has one (an undefinable inside/outside).
(On another note, I think I'm going to start describing every site I submit to Digg as "created by a former apple employee, I think".) - cowabuse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1WOW! The fact that it's done by an "ex-Apple employee" really gives it an aesthetic significance.
- joshlewis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This was written by the photographer in the comments under the photo: "...As for any Apple connection, there isn't any. I just like to call this structure "infinite loop" because it's two blocks down from the Real Infinite Loop..." So, the person who posted this had no idea what they were talking about regarding the connection to Apple.
I drive by this sculpture every day on my way to and from Apple, and I highly doubt there's any connection. Apple's "Infinite Loop" road has been in Cupertino for years. This sculpture has only been here for about two years. - Jarasmen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In other news: air breathed by an ex-Apple employee (I think).
- greenspans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a rubber ducky outline on its head
- aguynamedben, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its at 1337 stop digging it!
- davecor, on 10/12/2007, -6/+7I call fake. Photoshop or CGI.
Here is the shot without the loop in it

You took down flickr!
Ohh, now it's back - yipeyipe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice try, I walk by that statue all the time. :)
- codeWorm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dude! I totally took down flickr there for a second.. (Well, at least my own set on flickr.) I was trying to add the photos to the map, and I dragged the mouse off the browser window. I saw a similar error until I closed Safari and relaunched. :)
